2pk Samson Audio M30 MediaOne Powered Studio Monitors Active/Passive Speakers

I bought these to go with a turntable and I was a little worried that they wouldn’t work for the job. But boy was I wrong to be worried. The only thing I have to worry about now is waking up the neighbors when I’m playing records at night. I never knew 3” speakers could be so loud. And the sound quality is unbelievable. I don’t have an EQ running into these speakers, and I can hear every instrument clearly and precisely at any level. I haven’t used these for any other purpose besides music playback, but I’m sure you could probably mix your demo with these, or just have some great desktop monitors with your computer. And the price is unbeatable for the quality product you receive. Samson is a name I’ve always known for microphones, but now I know them for speakers.

Amazing for the price

I bought these just after they were released a few years ago and realized I'd never written a review.At time of writing they have given nearly 3 years of steadfastly reliable service, and I am overall extremely happy with them. Sound wise, I am not an audio expert, so I can really only say that to me they sound great, I will say that if you like a huge amount of bass these might not be for you, but that should go without saying for pretty much any bookshelf sized speaker.My only real complaint isn't very much of one and has more to do with me than the speakers. Excellent value

I just use these to listen to music on my computer and I'm not an audiophile, so I can't comment on how well they work for audio production.The speakers sound really good to me, comparable to (though not quite as good as) the Micca MB42Xs I use for my stereo. MUCH better sound and volume than the Logitech X-240 set they replaced. I don't think any speakers specifically intended for computers that I bought at this price point would sound as good, or be as sturdy. I like that the power/volume button is on the front for easy access.The first set I received did not work on the active side, but B&H replaced them without hassle.Keep in mind they don't come with an audio input cable. I had one laying around, so it wasn't a big deal to me.

Great for the money and your desk

I bought these to add to my Focusrite Scarlett Solo and use it with Cakewalk and it set up in less that minutes. All of my computer audio goes this route and the sound is great. This is a great unit if you have a small space. There is a Bass Boost that compliments it well. Also there is an automatic sleep mode if you leave it on and forget to turn it off. Just make sure you get the right cable for it. The only cable it comes with is the power cable and the one to connect the two speakers together.

Great speakers for the money...

I needed a new set of speakers/monitors for mixing music in a home studio, and decided to give the Samsons a try. I've used a number of different brands over the years, and was a little skeptical about the Samsons because of much lower cost. Have to say that I'm very pleased with the purchase. They sound as good as some of the much more expensive monitors out there, and I will be buying another set as a backup. They have a bass switch, which produces great bass sound when turned on. I usually leave the bass switch off when mixing, to get a flat (accurate) sound reproduction, but I do use it on certain songs. I would definitely recommend these speakers to anyone mixing music, or just wanting a great set of speakers for general listening. Great value! Perfect size

Great speakers for a record player. Perfect amount of bass. Great clarity for their size and output. Perfect size for a shelf or small desk.

Just what I needed!!!

I produce documentaries and the speakers I had stopped working. After some research, I purchased a pair of Samson MediaOne M30 Powered Studio Monitors. The sound was even across the spectrum audio spectrum. Because of these speakers, my audio has improved. They even fit into my workspace. Thanks to the crew at Sam Ash.

Seems to be a good set of speakers, so far.

I like the box and packaging, it felt well thought out and looks like it protected the speakers just fine. The overall construction of the speakers looks and feels great. The sound is great, however I do not have a direct comparison available. I purchased these for my live streaming studio work and they seem to be more of just computer speakers for me at this point. If I start to lay sound tracks and do more video editing then I will be using them as I intended to when I purchased them. *very disappointed in the 3.5mm or 1/8" cable to connect the left speaker. **and the lack of a 3.5 or 1/8" to RCA Y adapter cable. Seriously? I cannot think of any computers that ship today with RCA out? So the lack of an RCA cable? Even for the price I paid for these I would have expected better. Even if the adapter was of the same lame quality as the left speaker cable I would have been a little more pleased with this purchase. There is no "contents list" on the box so I was unable to confirm what was supposed to have shipped in the box. Do not bother with these speakers at any price until the contents list is made available and the RCA to 3.5mm is provided. Until then I cannot recommend these. Lame reason? Sure. Lame not to include a required cable? Even more LAME!

Sounds great

These speakers sound absolutely great! I had a set of Bose while serving in Germany many years hence. These are comparable. Of course the Bose handled much more wattage, but relatively speaking these are close. I highly recommend these for those a bit shy of funds. I gave them 4 stars due to the fact that 5 should be reserved for the rarest of times when there is no doubt. There may be other products out there at this price level that I haven't heard, with that said giving them a 5 would not be fair. So 4 it is.

They fit perfectly!

I adore the sound! Small build with a wonderful and Loud output! My studio would not be completed without them! The set up is super easy to handle and for their size they can fit pretty much Anywhere! Definitely a great Buy and I'll have to get another pair for surround sound! ❤️
