Purchased for working from home, after having used this exact monitor in the office. Replaced a dual 24 inch monitor setup. Good for having Outlook on one half, and Team on the other, or two Excel spreadsheets side by side. Works at the full resolution with both my work laptop (Intel) and my M1 Macbook Pro, with both laptops just using the the USBC cable for both monitor and power. One cable replaced the power cable, the HDMI, the USBC monitor cable as well. I did look at some 34 inch monitors in this category, from Phillips and also HP, which were similarly priced (even a bit cheaper with the sales at the time), but I ended up buying this one because LG also have a good reputation, and as I have used these at work, and they are great. I tried playing League of Legends on the big screen; it fills the screen but it's almost too big; I tried Civilisation IV but it can't use the entire screen real estate.Speakers are OK and better than the laptop speakers, but it's as expected for monitor speakers. The control is by a little joystick bottom centre of the screen which I found intuitive to use.I mainly use this for work, so I can't fault this monitor for this purpose.

This beauty is amazing. I didn’t realize how large the screen actually was until I hooked everything up and started working with spreadsheets. I’m very surprised with the performance of this monitor. From gaming, to spreadsheets, to internet searches, or simply streaming movies, I was blown away and amazed. The picture is nice and crisp. The bright vivid colors are pleasing to my eyes and I definitely don’t have any eye strain using this beast. Once I received the monitor I put it together in a matter of minutes. I started using it for work and then I quickly found myself using it for a few hours of gaming. Thanks to the large screen size and dual inputs, I found my old desktop pc and hooked it up. I’m very satisfied with the LG Monitor and the performance thus far. I would point out to you that there are no internal speakers but that is ok as for I’m using my soundbar. Also please note that I wished that the menu options were a little more user friendly, it takes a while to go through all the options and if you hit the wrong button you have to start all over.

I was looking at 34 Ultra Wide displays to go with my new MacBook Air, largely on recommendation of a relative who uses one. After reviewing way too many YouTube videos, I settled on this monitor--I wanted maximal screen real estate.I was coming from a retina display on my old 17 PC, which was fabulous, if a smidgen small. So you can imagine adapting to a 38 took a while. HINT: You will want a window manager (I use Amethyst)--it's really hard to make efficient use of the screen real estate otherwise. It also took me about a week getting used to a non-retina display, but I no longer notice. I am glad in many ways since audio plug-ins on the PC were a mess on retina displays... now I'm no longer dealing with that issue. The 38 screen is a bit wider than is ... MoreI was looking at 34 Ultra Wide displays to go with my new MacBook Air, largely on recommendation of a relative who uses one. I'm using the 100mm VESA mount for use on my monitor arm--works no problems.I haven't put the built-in Thunderbolt 3 hub through its paces, mainly because I already had a T3 hub (into which this monitor is plugged). Nor do I use the monitor speakers. The display is plenty bright for my office (which is airy buy not overly sunny).Summary: Coding, note taking while browsing, and using software with a timeline is a dream on this thing (audio editing, video editing, sheet music).

This is really a pitty.. having high quality products ment to work for many years. We also assumed LG supports to be more proactive and helpful with such matters and so to help keep the environment.. But no, they prefer you to get rid of it and buy a new device.. We will try another brand now. What a shame.
I've used 1080p monitors since I was a kid, I can afford 4k monitors but this monitor is EXACTLY what I needed.1440p res, gaming is good - Gamers you have to do a lot of tweaking with the monitor before you actually start playing any of your games. Not all games support this reso. recommend using 21:9 aspect ratio for some games. This monitor has a built in KVM switch, so you can plug your personal computer and work computer via hdmi/DP and it'll automatically readjust all of your devices to that device. Dope, removes the need for additional docking stations and portsits 3800R curve, idk what that means, its a slight curve not a heavy one. you move your eyes alot but not your headRecommend a monitor arm mount for more freedom, the stand provided is not enough ... MoreI've used 1080p monitors since I was a kid, I can afford 4k monitors but this monitor is EXACTLY what I needed.1440p res, gaming is good - Gamers you have to do a lot of tweaking with the monitor before you actually start playing any of your games. Don't get it if you dont have a decent graphics card(basically no onboard graphics)Keep in mind when using this on a laptop(windows) itll be janky, compared to my gaming PC, my work laptop(MSI creator 15) resolution is weird but that is because it is not display port. Please keep this in mind when you factor that in. I dont care much for resolution at work just want more space on 1 screen.Even though I marked it has a 4/5 thats as a customer... this thing is EXPENSIVEEE, I got it at a discount if the discount price was the actual product price, this monitor would be 5/5 and a dominator in ultrawide 1440p monitor market.Personally 5/5, this monitor has met all the expectations I've been looking for in the past couple months of my monitor hunt
I have worked from home for the same company since 2015. Over my time there I have taken on more job skills and sometimes I can have 5 to 7 active windows open at any time. The 60Hz Frequency is far more than adequate, the resolution comes in at 3440 x 1440 and it has inputs/outputs for everything you need to do.I was able to free up a USB port and ditch my add-on speakers, the LG Curved UltraWide™ 34'' QHD IPS Display Monitor has Maxx Audio sounds very crisp and clear when working. It also provides top-notch audio to match the visual experience.I do recommend to have a helping hand when unboxing and inserting the stand, it was easy but awkward to hold because of this amazing wide screens size. I am eventually going to mount it, but it comes with a nice stand. It moves up and down easily, which is perfect since I am 4’11” and it also tilts for comfort. The LG Curved UltraWide™ 34'' QHD IPS Display Monitor has improved my workday tremendously, I love it.
I bought this close to release thinking that Apple and LG were working together and ensuring their products were compatible. They're not. So many dramas at hardware and software level with my Mac Book Pro, so this now sits in a corner and collects dust. ONScreen Control might be the worst software ever developed for a computer. It is notoriously unstable, user-unfriendly and has a mind of it's own. And the screw splitting software is only useful for two Windows computers...not a Mac and a PC. The HDR feature is contrived or manipulated in some way, and Ive not had a single day where I could say I got good picture quality.Don't believe the marketing hype, and certainly don't expect any help from LG. Just look at the 'cut and paste' responses to most of these reviews. One bloke says he's battled with support not calling him back, so LG's response is to provide the same phone numbers so he can waste more time calling again. That is the very same experience I've had. Avoid spending your hard earned dollars on this folks. LG don't deserve you.
This is not only my first LG monitor but also the largest monitor I have owned as well as my first, widescreen. I absolutely cannot believe that I can do what was taking me two separate monitors on just this one monitor. This was the main point, or desire, in my wanting to own a widescreen monitor was to be able to condense and not have to use multiple monitors. So this also means using less electricity as well. I did not know until after the fact that it has built-in speakers. The sound quality is excellent and does not distort at higher volumes. I was using a wireless Bluetooth speaker but I have switched over to using LG's internal speaker on this monitor which also uses this technology called Waves MaxxAudio. The clarity for someone with less than 20/20 vision is impeccable. There are many settings options such as Custom, Cinema, Vivid, HDR Effect, FPS, RTS, and a reader mode (that has that sort of tablet sepia color to it). I will generally use the Custom feature. I like the Super Resolution+ and Black Level settings as it makes the text stand out better. Under Settings, Picture, Color Adjust, there is a Gamma feature with four separate modes. Choosing Mode 3 enhances text clarity even further and is what I am currently using. Other features include the ability to tilt the monitor forward and back. It does not have an option to raise the height of the monitor and if I had to list any cons that are literally the only one I can think of. On the rear of the monitor where the ports are there is a USB-C port which could be used to charge any devices that use a USB-C charge cable. This is definitely a monitor I would recommend for anyone to use and I mean that especially if you are working from home or for any businesses seeking to upgrade their current monitors for their employees. This is such a major space saver being able to use this one monitor and it looks so much cleaner as well.
49 is just too much. The point of an ergonomic monitor is... ergonomics- primarily, minimizing head movement. But this monitor is so wide I cannot clearly read text on the sides even by moving my head. I ended up just using the middle ~60% or so of the monitor (at which point I might as well get a 38-43 ultrawide monitor). At 49, you really need this monitor to be around 3-4' from your head, but most people don't have desks that deep. The ambient light sensor seemed like a good idea, and while it usually worked well, there's no option to set an offset. For example, it would have been nice to be able to have that auto-brightness functionality, but be able to boost or reduce the brightness in case you find LG doesn't know how bright you like your monitor given the ... More49 is just too much. For example, it would have been nice to be able to have that auto-brightness functionality, but be able to boost or reduce the brightness in case you find LG doesn't know how bright you like your monitor given the ambient light. Also (and this happens with all of LG's monitors with ambient light sensors) if the brightness in the room is just right, it will constantly adjust from one brightness setting to another, since the ambient brightness is right on the threshold of those two brightness settings. It's one of those things you might just disable. LG should have the brightness adjust in small increments like a MacBook would, so that subtle changes in ambient brightness cause only subtle changes in the monitor's brightness. The stand, while a fancy rose-gold aluminum, is large and takes up a lot of depth as well as width on a desk. If you're taller than 5'6 or so, you'll probably wish the monitor would go higher on the stand and end up buying a VESA mount that allows the monitor to go higher, keeping the fancy stand in its box.The final issue I have with this monitor is that it's 60Hz. It's 2022. The monitor is (was) well over a grand. 60Hz is nonsense. I was able to overclock to 72Hz and even 75Hz, however at 75Hz LG displays this annoying out of range popup on the screen that doesn't go away. There is no way to get rid of it except to lower the resolution back to 60-72Hz. Another dumb move by LG.I'm glad to see the monitor is a third cheaper than when I bought it a few months ago, but it's still not a good choice. Go for something smaller and with a higher resolution and refresh rate.
Wow, this is an awesome upgrade. We have it in the kitchen where my wife works from home a few days a week. She's using it to extend her desktop on the work laptop she uses. We replaced a regular 1080p monitor with this one and it's as different as night and day. Not only is this monitor lighter but it has a lot of modern inputs on the back. To me this is light as a feather. She can now have more open windows visible at the same time but those windows are larger. A lot less eye strain trying to real tiny figures jammed into a smaller screen and she doesn't have to keep alternating expanding different windows to see/move figures between them. Easier to see and more to see at once, I would call that a definite win in both comfort and productivity. The stand was also ... MoreWow, this is an awesome upgrade. Not only is it heavy enough to keep the monitor from tipping over if accidentally jostled, but it is wide enough that it doesn't interfere with the desk space directly in front & underneath the monitor. I did bowwow it one weekend to try it out and found that the colors looked great and there was no problem watching an HD video while also having another window open to browse the web or check my emails. Very much worth it to take advantage of a modern sized monitor.
