They do a great job of cutting the sound but I personally wouldn't want to wear them long. After about 45 minutes of using them my head starts to hurt from the heavy squeeze they put on your head. 4 stars because not as comfortable as I think they could be. #sweepstakes

When using some of the louder woodworking tools like a router, these are perfect. These are very comfortable and the best set that I have. They were also reasonably priced. I will definitely buy more.

Very decent soundproofing and really nice looks. One minor drawback though - there is a strange feeling like something causing pressure on one's eardrums while wearing this headgear. Maybe I'll get used to it or maybe the earmuff will adjust, I don't know yet. It's not a big deal but an issue was quite unexpected. It cuts off the most annoying frequencies of the human voices and although you can still hear that people ARE talking it doesn't bother you that much anymore (something that moldex foam plugs - while giving you better soundproofing against the household noises - failed to achieve). It fares well in the industrial environment too.

These earmuffs are very quiet and so far I do not have to wear additional earplugs when running my chainsaw or my tractor. They will most likely degrade with use and Ill then use the earplugs with the muffs. I purchased the rebuild kit to restore the muffs so I can extend the life of the muffs to maybe two years. Very impressed so far and highly recommend.
They seem to muffle sounds, but I can still hear my TV with them on. I'm not sure if they would work very well at the indoor range. I ordered the large size and they fit my big head well, but they really stick out like a sore thumb!
In my experience, these ear muffs are the best. They're large enough to be comfortable for my long and tall ears and they're excellent at blocking out noise. I gave my first pair to a friend and bought another pair for myself and now that I'm retired and making noise at home, I bought this pair for my wife. She's as happy with them as I am!
Very disappointed, both ear pads fell off within 1 hour of use and they will not clip back into place. I have an earlier model that works great and they have lasted for a couple of years and are still working great. 3M used to make good quality products but as with many companies they have tried to cut coast by moving some of there production to other countries and the quality of the product has declined.
I bought it to replace my original one. My husband had worn it at work around very loud machinery. When his was replaced, he gave it to me to use when I mow the lawn. We used it so much the covering over the ears was cracking. The new one is exactly what I was expecting.
I bought an identical pair for about $15 more at my local hardware store so I wish I had checked the web first. I got this pair to go in my truck so I'm never left without. These are very comfortable and SUPER quiet. I really like quiet when I'm working with loud tools and I want to preserve my hearing for as long as possible so I put them on EVERY time I work w/ something loud because loss is cumulative.I wish the parts that contacted the head were more durable. They are fairly thin, flexible plastic (just like every other brand I looked at) and would likely not take any abuse... Not sure if the ear pads are available as replacements either, which would be acceptable I suppose.
