The particulate filters look like they can be gently washed, dried and re-used. This mask comes with two, very easy to install, anti particle cartridges. Simply open the package, separate the two transparent plastic cartridge cups from each other, leaving the white filter pads inside of their respective cup. Next, line the filters up inside of the plastic cartridge cups so that they look completely flat inside of the plastic cartridge cups. Then, just take one plastic cartridge cup with the white filter pad inside of it and just snap it onto the front of the grey filter. That's how easy it is to put the filter together! The only thing you have to do now is take the assembled filter and fit it onto the mask. To install the filters on the mask; first you must know that the right filter twists on counter-clockwise and that the left filter twists ... Worse than 6000 series for eye glasses wearers because the upper edge of the rubber is puffed up on 7000 series vs. very flat and sharp on 6000 series, thus making is hard for people. No doubt, the 3M 7000 series offer excellent face molding tightness and superior ease of put-on and take-off usage, but for the eye glasses wearers they are inferior. Because they are bulging on top edge, the glasses get pushed off of the nose (unless you wear a monocular that doesn't rely on nose bridge, or tiny glasses with nose bridge being high by eye-brows only.)
The mask itself is GREAT but I bought it to breathe fresh air that doesn't have VOC's, Fragrance, or Scents as I am very allergic to them. I am one of the millions of people in America who has allergies and asthma and/or Environmental Illness and Multiple Chemical Sensitivity. Even in the In the allergy clinics no one is supposed to wear any kind of fragrance. You could kill one of us by exposing us to it. I cannot have scented anything. From this mask is the strong odor of a cologne or perfume. It has made me sick and I have to be on Steroids now and antibiotics (sinus infection and asthma). Nebulizer for wheezing asthma and painful sinuses!!! I breathed it in and even my tongue burns and tastes awful (like metallic or chemical) due to the fragrance that was added ... I used one of these for 19 years for varnishing, spraying insecticides, etc. I noticed it had a tiny air leak on one side of the nose. I ordered a new one- same air leak. I ordered a different size -same leak. One side of the nose piece, where it folds over and meets the face, is slightly narrower on all three masks, hence the leak.I wear it in high Covid risk areas, and have sealed a HEPA filter over the exhale vent. It might not leak if you don't have something over the exhale vent- I only notice the leak on the exhale, and it really is tiny, and not constant. Would have given it 5 stars if not for that.
