This battery does not work
Fully charged battery only lasted ten minutes would not recommend this product.
Great battery so far. Like the extra capacity little more run time then the 4.0 with the 40v blower but I’m sure it will last much longer on a less power hungry tool.
First of all, If you're a diy'er or an elderly person, this is the heft you'd want to stop at. The added weight of the 5ah 40v is nothing to scoff at. The extended run time is invaluable if you work in the trades. I make apprentices used heavier batteries to build construction muscle and cut down on battery trade outs.
The power and durability exceeded my expectations. The XGT 40V 5Ah batt. is keeping with the Makita tradition of Quality, Features, Durability & Reliability. Great to see that Makita standards are still high. Pricing could use significant improvement lower, however. Probably will not buy their 6 & 8Ah Batts due to their increased weight. Otherwise, excellent products.
If you want long lasting power, this is the battery for you!! Charges quickly and lasts days comoared to my used 18v 5aH
