Comfortable, Waterproof. Wear them outside all way walking a lot in all elements.Only issue I’ve had with 5.11 side zip is they are a little hard to put on and take off. Don’t know if that’s because it fits so well when wearing. Maybe a longer zipper needed, idk.

Boots are very uncomfortable. They are difficult to get on and are still loose around the toe and heel. I wear 2 pairs of socks with them (1 thick pair and one normal pair). This helps but the boots are still not fitted well. All my other pairs of 5.11 boots have been great and their products in general are very high quality. I was disappointed to find these to be so uncomfortable.

These are the worst 5.11 boots I bought to date. I’ve bought 3 pairs of 5.11 boots. First 2 were the 8 inch tall boot and those were ok and they last 2-3 years as a correctional officer. Recently I bought this boot because it’s summer and it’s extremely hot so I bought these thinking the new “breathable tongue” would maybe be a upgrade it is not these are extremely hot and get your feet humid and are extremely tight on the top of your foot. I suggest going a .5 up your size. This sucks too because they are super expensive and I kept wearing them trying to break them in and giving them a chance.

I bought these boots for my best friend who works in corrections. The boots are great, the only issue I have is the misleading description on the website. It says the 6 inch boots come with a hidden knife compartment, which I did not find. I also looked online, and could not find any information regarding the hidden knife compartment.
Ordered 1 size larger than normal and first tried them on the right boot was very tight but having leather boots in past i thought id wear them to work and see how they would feel. After a hour or so they felt perfect. I could not beleave i was able to wear them my complete shift without any blisters or soar spots. 2nd day they fit great. Love these boots. Dont let your first fitting stop you from giving them a real try. Had these boots for a month now and absolutely the best wearing boats ive worn in 30 years. Wish they came in different colors and styles.

I had several pairs of the original ATAC and each one lasted me several years. I recently went online to order another pair and it appears the original ATAC has been discontinued and replaced with the ATAC 2.0. I was afraid the new version wouldn't be as good as the original but that doesn't seem to be the case. The over all feel and comfort is pretty much the same. The boot sits a little higher on the ankle than the original but it is comfortable and does give good support. The leather feels the same and shines up just like the original. I wore a size 10 in the original ATAC but reluctantly ordered a size 10.5 in the ATAC 2.0. The boot fit perfect and as with the original ATAC there was no real break in period. The side zip was about useless in the original ATAC and it probably still is. It may be a little easier to get on and off with the side zip but you still need to undo the laces. I've been wearing them to work for a few weeks with no complaints.
I had to return two pair of boots because they did not fit. I visited the store in Indianapolis and started trying on shoes and boots. I ended up buying a pair of of shoes but instead of my normal size 7 I ended up with a size 8.5. I think their supplier cuts the sizes too small. I will not be ordering online again because if my issue with trusting the size advertised.
I really like these boots. I work as armed security and walk a lot. So far, these have proven to be very comfortable and lite weight. I even forget they have the carbon toe.I like these so much that even when I'm not working, I still choose to wear these over my sneakers.
I have owned 2 pairs of these boots that I purchased from my local 5.11 realtor. Overall, I've really enjoyed them.Like most boots, they're fairly comfortable when once you break them in. I always recommend replacing insoles with something custom fitted.The boots worked great in multiple weather conditions, inside and outside.Neither boot lasted more than a year though. The first pair tore just at the sole on the left boot. Thinking it was a mishap, I bought a second pair and around the year mark the right sole started to detach.I don't think I'm over hard on my boots as I just wear them for work. I do put a lot of miles on them though.
Perfect boot for work, long lasting, and durable can really stand up to wear and tear. Also being as durable as it is provides excellent comfort to the foot. Size is a perfect fit and very comfortable. Side zipper allows for easy on and off. Toe guard is for once not uncomfortable in a boot.
