I purchased these boots as my uniform at work require me to wear a black boot that can be polished. The A.T.A.C. boot seemed to be a good first boot due to the lower price point, yet positive reviews. I have now worn my pair of A.T.A.C. boots for 13 months! These will get you through to an annual stipend. I recommend these boots for the price range(while on sale, which 5.11 does a lot!).

I was sent boots that were terribly defective. Both boots were different shapes. No, they were not 2 different styles of boots. They were the same style. Just defective. There both were different shapes. One was taller than the other. Terrible! Eventually after unnecessarily going out of my way to get a good pair of boots. They were finally delivered.

I always buy wide because I like extra toe room. These were supposed to replace my current Danner size zips that are also a wide. I could not get this boot on. It was so narrow that I thought surely it was mis-sized. It was not. I lined the foot up with my wife's regular fit 5.11 boot and they are the same with, even though I wear 3-4 sizes larger and ordered a wide. Just don't waste your time.

Was excited these boots were finally back in stock as they haven’t been available anywhere. Ordered a size 9 that I have worn in 5.11 boots for nearly 15 years and they did not fit…too tight. I returned them and ordered a size 9.5 and it was still tight. Maybe 5.11 has started sizing like athletic shoes, and I normally wear a 10. Debating on making my 3rd order to get a proper size or just move on to a new boot that I can find in stores. The website needs to include proper sizing guides or information that can help if this is the case.
Ordered 1 size larger than normal and first tried them on the right boot was very tight but having leather boots in past i thought id wear them to work and see how they would feel. After a hour or so they felt perfect. I could not beleave i was able to wear them my complete shift without any blisters or soar spots. 2nd day they fit great. Love these boots. Dont let your first fitting stop you from giving them a real try. Had these boots for a month now and absolutely the best wearing boats ive worn in 30 years. Wish they came in different colors and styles.
I've been wearing these standard width size 11's for a week now and am very pleased so far. If you straddle the line between needing standard width, or wide like I do you might want to consider the wide. They also feel slightly cramped in the toe, however after a week of break-in they are starting to feel excellent. The seam on the inside of the zipper was noticeable at first, but that has faded and they get more comfortable by the day. My experience with boots that have a break-in period suggests these will have great longevity. Lightweight, great ankle support.

I had several pairs of the original ATAC and each one lasted me several years. I recently went online to order another pair and it appears the original ATAC has been discontinued and replaced with the ATAC 2.0. I was afraid the new version wouldn't be as good as the original but that doesn't seem to be the case. The over all feel and comfort is pretty much the same. The boot sits a little higher on the ankle than the original but it is comfortable and does give good support. The leather feels the same and shines up just like the original. I wore a size 10 in the original ATAC but reluctantly ordered a size 10.5 in the ATAC 2.0. The boot fit perfect and as with the original ATAC there was no real break in period. The side zip was about useless in the original ATAC and it probably still is. It may be a little easier to get on and off with the side zip but you still need to undo the laces. I've been wearing them to work for a few weeks with no complaints.
Had the old design for about 10 years now, decided to get these. Ordered a half size bigger than my old pair for a bit more comfort for the winter months and thicker socks. Now these things are NARROW, I mean my foot feels like its folded in half. Besides that there are a few other things like the tab over the zipper is about half the size it was making grabbing it a little more difficult, I prefer the hooks over the eyelets for the upper laces. Now confort wise these things would be amazing if they weren't crushing my feet. I plan on ordering a pair of safety toe boots when I get the chance and will for sure be ordering the wides
These maybe good office shoes but they are not made for walking. Within a month the tread wore to cheap Walmart tire bald status and they are poorly glue together causing wet feet the sole separates the sewing is weak and holes form easily. Don't waste your money if you have a profession where you walk alot and are exposed to weather conditions these are not the so called tactical boot for you. These are nothing more than office shoes.
I bought these boots about a year ago and have been wearing them ever since. I believe the fit runs a little small as I normally wear a mens size 8. I purchased an 8 1/2 and will probably buy a 9 next time. This boot was more comfortable than the most comfortable pair of sneakers that I have ever owned and there was NO break-in period. These shoes were so supportive that when I broke my toe, the doctor looked at my boots and said that they would provide better support than the hospital's protective shoe.
