The 5.11 TDU Tac Lite pants are a standout choice, especially for police work. Their durability is unparalleled, as evidenced by my own pair that's been going strong for 7 years. The functionality, comfort, and practicality make them a staple for professionals in demanding environments. These pants are a reliable investment that truly stands the test of time.

These are basically a light weight version of the issued 511 TDU, which for the summer is awesome. The waist measurement is the same as the other TDU, but the leg length is better so they don't sit half way up your boots. To be honest I'd prefer these Tactlite to the normal heavier ones, mainly due to the lighter weight and better length, definitely will be buying a second pair.

Happy with the Taclite TDU Pants

I was looking for an everyday use substitute for jeans that I could even use as business casual. Yet, I also wanted it with neat but functional cargo pockets, cooler in warm seasons, resist stains, reasonably priced, and durable enough to warrant spending $40 to $50 per pair for a product or company that I've never used before through the internet. After a good search, I found these pants and it seemed that it was everything that I was looking for. They ended up feeling just like summer BDU pants, my wife even like how they look, and they had the bonus of the adjustable waist for better fit and flexibility. I'm definitely ordering more in a variety of colors. These are the new jeans from here on out for me. They're unnecessary (tuck your pant legs in or use the rubber bands if necessary) and look silly if not tucking them into a pair of boots. However, the problem was easily solved by firmly yanking them out to make them basically appear as regular civilian cargo pants.

Not fit for actual duty use unfortunately
26 October 2015

Wore them during a shift and I was nearly bleeding from chaffing. These pants are made of an extremely stiff material and the elastic waistband holds everything way to close to the body. If anything is in the cargo pockets the items will be pressed against your legs, even a small flashlight is going to be rubbing against you as you walk. The material is also very thick/stiff and prevents movement somewhat. The sizing system is my main gripe, I ordered the 27-31 inch waist which should fit fine but because the elastic is so strong they stay a size 27 no matter what, which is probably what's causing the restrictiveness and chaffing as my waist is 29-30. They should just use a normal sizing system, its universal for a reason. I used to like 5.11 but now will be wary of ... MoreWore them during a shift and I was nearly bleeding from chaffing. Perfect work pants
18 May 2017

I have owned two pair of these pants and worn them to work for years with only minor discolouration of the dark navy. The ripstop, and Teflon, and draw strings around the cuffs have kept them looking professional despite messes and rough work. The internal knee pad pockets are great for days on the range on examining vehicles and aircraft; side pockets fit my huge notebook holder along with a case for sunglasses, or dump pouch for pistol mags; the hip pockets are deep enough to hold my big phone and wallet without worrying about anything falling out; and the stretching waistband accommodated my weight gain and subsequent loss of 25lbs. I am issued pants for free from my agency, but I would happily buy these out of pocket instead.

Probably one of the best 5.11 tactical pants they offer
7 January 2023

I already own many pairs of 5.11 tactical pants but these are one of my favorites. Very roomy through the thighs. They have a snap button on the top. The length is perfect. I just wish they did not have the ties at the bottom of the legs to be so, so long. That is not an option I need. The front pockets are very deep but the cargo pockets are so roomy and you can stuff them and the velcro is going to hold

Really like the pants and will stick with them
3 September 2023

I've tried a few different pairs of 5.11 pants and these have been the best for me. Biggest difference has been the fit. The relaxed fit is great both for my build but also the pockets are more useful and seem slightly larger and more accessible. The back pockets could be a little baggier in my opinion but the side ones are very useful. The wider waste band is very nice too and they fit tight to stay in place, while adjustable enough for everyday movement. The blousing straps weren't necessary for me and they won't pull out since they are sewn in. I didn't want to cut them out though, so I actually used a pen and reverse-fed them back into the bottom seam. Like feeding a string through a sweatshirt. The extra Velcro straps and pockets would be really nice and the thinner version would obviously be good for the summer. Being in EMS, by no means are these inadequate though.I've ordered and sent back a few pairs of pants with zero issues on refunds etc. as well. They were a little slow on getting one of my orders of a single pair of pants out, but when I reached out (after a little over a week), they were responsive and immediately shipped.

Sadly they Left out the features I love about my other 5.11 pants
19 November 2020

I have four pair of 5.11 pants. I only wear 5.11 pants because they are great. These are my least favorite. They lack everything I like about my other style pants. 1. There are only 5 belt loops. From the 5:00 position to the 2:00 position there are no loops so anything I wear on the belt ie. multi tool, knife etc slides all around and usually ends up stuck in the back where I end up sitting on it.Another issue is there is no metal loop where I can hang my keys. I love that feature on my other 5.11 pants. I have a lot of keys and just putting them in my pocket is uncomfortable. Hanging the keys allow easy and fast access. The pockets on the legs are nice but there is no small pocket to put a flashlight or something like that.I got them because I can put knee pads ... MoreI have four pair of 5.11 pants. Really sad that they left out the key features that make my other 5.11 pants so good.

These pants are awesome. Not
17 January 2022

These pants are awesome. Not only are they comfortable but the design is on point. With the elastic waistband everything fits well. I probably should have went up one size. The fabric is a little stretchy for flexible moving. The length is perfect. I have to blouse my pants for work I don't use the straps that come attached but they're nice to have as an additional backup. Finally, the pockets are awesome. With the cargo pockets having the additional magazine pockets I will use for my wallet and phone. The two front pockets are big enough to have a knife in and also have plenty of room to retrieve anything from the same pocket without scraping your hand on the knife.

Wish I could give 5
24 June 2023

Wish I could give 5 stars however the pockets are made of inferiour material to the rest of the pants. I have several pair and each have the pockets, both front hip and cargo, wear through within 6 months from EDC items (not putting bricks in the pocket!) and I have to repair them or everything in my pockets is falling out. The rest of the pant materials are very durable and last at least year being worn daily at work. Fit is great, sizing system is very helpful in getting the fit right.
