Excellent amount of power and no more chord -unless you want it. Does 1 days work using the batteries but only just, solid reliable features similar to the chorded version it replaces. Bit big and heavy but can do any type of building work, which as a professional i appreciate. I use daily so will probably get 2 more batteries. If you want something powerful that will last years to come this is a good choice.

Specification

Power Input1675 Watts
Power Output960 Watts

Very disappointed in this product and Dewalt nz

When this saw first came out I thought the technology was a great idea. I brought one of the first models for my personal use as the company I was working for already had Makita saws. I didn’t use it a lot over the time I’ve had it but before the warranty ran out the motor blew when I was using it with the power adapter. I was told by the Dewalt rep. to take it to one of the power tool service agents which I did to have the motor replaced as he said they have had a few issues with the motor blowing while using the power adapter in Waikato because of power surges. I was told by the Dewalt rep. to take it to one of the power tool service agents which I did to have the motor replaced as he said they have had a few issues with the motor blowing while using the power adapter in Waikato because of power surges. I had to purchase another saw in the interim now been a sole trader.Because of covid which is understandable it took several months before the motor was replaced with the new model which was supposed to have been updated to fix the issue that caused the first one to blow so I was told by the repairer. Since getting the Dewalt saw back I used it a couple times with the battery’s as the power source and a couple of weeks ago ran it with the power adapter, after several cuts the motor blew again. I got in touch with the Waikato rep and was told to take it back to Mitre 10 only now because of delays with the initial repair it is out of warranty and was told by the rep that it is likely that it will not be covered or repaired under any warranty and that it was probably because of exposure to moisture (which I never use my tools in the rain) or power surges (which I also think should not be a factor when every other saw I’ve used in the past has not been effected by “power surges”). I got in touch with the tool repairer and in speaking with him this is a common issue with these saws with the dual power supply and the solution was returning them to where you purchased them for a refund or replacement with the solely corded version. Also in conversation I was told that Dewalt are also going away from the the dual power supply with their Cordless Mitre Saws and going to single battery.Obviously this is a design flaw and has not been rectified. I have been heavily invested in the Dewalt platform but have now lost a lot of trust in their products after also having issues with their self leveling laser that my first one was faulty and the Flexvolt sabre saw continuously cutting out. I do not recommend this saw to anyone, I advise anyone looking at this to wait until the updated generation is available because this model seems to have serious flaws and in my opinion should not be in the market. I have never had issues like this with any other drop saw I’ve used and I know a lot of builders who still have decade old Makita and Dewalt dropsaws that still work to this day. Very disappointed with Dewalt and the customer service we have with Dewalt in NZ, I think companies should stand behind their product because especially with builders a lot of money is tied up in tools to be able to do out line of work.

do not reccomend
22 November 2022

not even 12 months use and the motor has blown, after a bit of research on other forums and reviews it seems to be a super common problem while using the corded power supply which imo is a serious design flaw.
