Waste of money. Very flimsy. Collapsed immediately after assembling it. Rather pay more for better quality. Unpacked it, assembled it and took it to the dump within 2 hours

1. Instructions for assembly are not clear. 2. The guide holes and hardware do not line up, and there were pieces missing. 3. Want to return the product? Great! But, I have to pay for shipping back to Texas. Not cool. 4. When trying to talk to customer service, they refer me to Amazon, but Amazon sends me back to the customer service line for the company. Can't even figure out a solution without paying to ship these. I'll pay more to ship them back than will even be refunded. So - faulty product, lack of customer service, altogether one of the worst buying experiences I have ever had through Amazon. I'll think twice about future purchases like this through Amazon, and definitely will never purchase from this company again.

I bought this because it looks decent in the picture and thought I'd take a chance. It is so ridiculously flimsy. There's no way you can put anything of any weight on these shelves; certainly not books! Imagine a piece of paneling with a little piece of trim around the underside to give it the appearance of depth and that's what you've got. I've bought other modular/mdf bookcases that were much better than this and am sorry I didn't reorder the other one I have. This is a joke. The only reason I gave it two stars is because now that it's put together, it's okay to look at. If you want something to display maybe some stuffed animals and a box of tissue, this will do nicely.

It's a nice bookcase, great for small spaces. I was able to put it together in a minimal amount of time. If you put it together as instructed I think that it will last a long time. I would recommend it. The cons of this bookcase is that the shelves are thin, I had one crack in shipping, awaiting the replacement.

A nice looking solid bookcase.

The instructions were passable, and once I found a big enough space to assemble the unit, it all went together without problems. The only issue that I had was aligning the rear panels. The outer ones were simple, I fitted them into the top corners and then fixed down each side. The centre panel didn't quite want to line up with the two sides. In the end I fixed it roughly level with the outer panels but had to mark the position of the shelves from the inside and drill pilot holes through from the front so that the screws from the rear panels actually went into the rear of the shelves. Once fully assembled it becomes quit rigid. I put spacers under the front of the unit to tilt it slightly backwards and once fixed to the wall at the top all was done. Advert says solid oak. In reality, much of this unit is laminated mdf or other board. The only solid bits are the top, the front uprights and the edges of the shelves. The pictures in the advert appear to show a solid bookcase with the sides made of a single panel. When this bookcase arrives, you quickly realise that there is a top half and a bottom half which gets bolted together to achieve the height. Instructions are poor, some of the threaded holes don't line up properly and there are nearly 60 screws to put into the back panel to made it rigid. This is a long way from the promise in the pictures. Reasonably sturdy once assembled and fixed to the wall but not a high quality item

Happy with 1st so bought a 2nd one...

Have now bought a 2nd one and much quicker to assemble having done it once. Three tips : Make sure the sides are well tightened so that the shelves will sit snug on their plastic side supports, be sure to fit all the back-panel screws as they ensure frame rigidity and keep shelves in place and thirdly use a fine drill to provide guide holes for screws. This makes screwing far easier and avoids any possibility of any little 'bulges' on the shelves. The finished result does actually look like a solid oak bookcase rather than veneered. May buy another one if I can't bring myself to part with any more books following my move to a smaller house! Sorry pics are a bit dark...

I gave this product a 1 only because there were no lower number to give it! It is flimsy to a fault and the price for such a poor product is a disgrace! I have put a lot of bookcases and other furniture together, but the instructions were next to impossible to understand and there were only pictures with no written instructions. Ripoff!

Overall Okay

Overall the book case looks beautiful and the color compliments the rest of the furniture in the house. The price was also very reasonable given it's size and material. Pros: Great size without taking up a lot of floor space. Price is unbeatable. Color is warm and inviting. Delivery was quick. Cons: Few of the pre-made holes did not quite line up so we had to fernagel the screws in, in a few places. Few holes were definitely made wrong in size so we had to use longer screws instead in a few places to really ensure a good build. I would recommend for those who want a simple solid wood bookcase for lighter books. It's perfectly priced for buying a couple of them if you have an extensive collection.

Strong and good looking

The oak framing is this bookcase gives it strength to take a rangte of book weights. The resulting bookcase is still light and easy to handle. There is no timber odour or staining. Notes: Replace plastic buttons on the base with fibre pads for timber floors. Follow instruction sheets as given.
