I bought this lens based on several reviews by well known YouTubers. The build quality is excellent, and the lens is a true bargain. I have two 7 Artisans lenses now and I can't fault them. I'd recommend this brand to anyone on a budget looking for a quality manual lens.

Ive had this lens for four or five months or so. This lens feels really substantial. It weighs more than my full frame 50mm Minolta Rokkor MC lens from the 1970s. Both the focus and aperture rings turn super smoothly, with a strong steady resistance. It feels really expensive, lubricated, and well-machined, in hand. Focus and aperture rings are tight enough to not move on their own when bumped, which is nice. Aperture ring is smooth and continuous, no clicks (I guess this is standard now, to allow for video?). Best of all other name brand Sony, 55 mm. ,Nikon 50 mm f/1.2 z ( $2000 j canon R lens,fujifilm 56 mm ($1000 j voigtlander . So much expensive lens any better five times ,Leica 50 mmf1.4 [$4500 ] no more those game play , this 7 artisan are earnest business so I trust this product review at Sony alpha blog - excellent results after test the lens .this lens will my main primer shooting tool any time with me . Fantastic remarkable well made all metal lens. I?ll use long time , thanks Adorama .

First off build quality is VERY good for cheap glass. The control are rings buttery, both smooth focus and iris. YES its manual focus, big deal its still easy to focus on modern cameras anyway. PLus its solid METAL so its a bit heavy but feels so good im FLOORED that this is a budget lens- I have to say to me it has a very vintage look but that is fine... its clear that when handling it that essentially acts like an old slr m42 or FD lens etc... its great. On MFT makes a lovely portrait lens.
Based on my experience with other budget lenses from smaller photo optic companies I wasn't expecting much from this lens but It was a pleasant surprise. The image is very good with very little color cast requiring post adjustments to match to other cameras. The construction is solid and the lens is heavier than I expected from the size. The aperture ring being on the end of the lens makes it a little odd to use versus other M43 lens that have the traditional aperture ring next to the camera body. It's a good addition to my set of primes.
I love 7Artisans lenses. I’ve shot the 25mm probably more than most Fuji lenses. So, I expected to love this lens, but I was disappointed and returned it immediately. It lacks character. That’s the best way to describe its mediocrity. The build quality is awesome, and the silver is beautiful. But the few snaps I took just felt like blurry crops. Fuji’s 35 f2 has way more character despite less light. I assume the same is true for the 50 f2. Might be worth it to save for native Fuji glass.
I bought several 7 Artisan lenses - this fits the Lumix G95 far better than the 50mm F.095 for infinity / distance shooting. It is remarkably good glass, solid build and light weight. It is certainly sharp at slightly before F2 and onward. I have found it to be a very useful bit of Kit. The two photos show full frame and then a crop of the Moon - at F 8 - 10. It also has very good color rendition. At the price point it is an incredible buy.
Yes, with this well built MF 55mm f/1.4 inexpensive gem. Reminds me of the pleasures I had with my first 35mm film SLR and its unbeatable MF 50mm f/1.4 lens.Thank 7Artisans for bringing back the magic. If you once enjoyed such a lens you will not be disappointed with this one. Run your camera in aperture preferred mode and focus away.
I can't stop being overwhelmed with this lens sharpness. As a professional phtographer who loves shooting portraits - this is excatly a lens I need. Sorry, no "posh" labels on it;) Of course, it requires understanding manual focusing but I can assure everyone - you will be more than happy having this lens. Absolutely amazing quality of its cast and optics. Works beautifly on my XT2. I also owe 7Artisans 23 / 1.8 and this one stays all days on my Fuji for street photography and any other kind of shooting as well.
I had not so good luck with two other 7artisans lenses but this one is great!The Fuji mount fits very tightly, but this is not a show stopper.The optics are very good and central sharpness wide open is excellent. Corner to corner, it sharpens up extremely well by F5.6. I shoot mostly landscape and in low light wide open it is surprisingly sharp across the frame.It has a large rear element and I've not noticed much vignetting.Focus and aperture rings move smoothly.
