The comfort of this controller exceeded my expectations. It’s the most comfortable Switch controller I’ve played with. It feels like a first-party controller. I love that it looks and feels like the Super NES controllers of the 1990s, but with added 3D analog control sticks and an extra shoulder button on each side. When you sync the controller for the first time, it is a little tricky but follow the directions that come in the box exactly and it will work.

Would have been 5 except that the X & Y buttons and the A & B buttons are swapped - so don't match an XBox controller button layout. That's the con. Everything else is Pro. The size, the charging time, response, etc. I bought this on a deal of the day for tablet gaming. Diablo Immortal is only for PC and mobile devices. I used this on my Samsung S7 FE and it worked GREAT. Event htough you can play this using the touch screen, that doesn't work if you want to cast your tablet to your big TV - so this controller works great for that & fits in the laptop bag. Then I thought I'd try it on my smaller 10" Lenovo Chromebook & it worked great for that - I just have to remember where the "real" A button and "real" X buttons are for gaming. I'm sorry I didn't buy 2. I hope ... MoreWould have been 5 except that the X & Y buttons and the A & B buttons are swapped - so don't match an XBox controller button layout. That's the con. This is my second 8bitdo wired gamepad and it’s obviously good enough to buy another. This is a bit different from my first one in that this has rubber buttons vs. plastic. That could have some implications on the longevity of this controller although I’d imagine that the buttons would last at least as long as the button mechanisms. If you want a good PC or Switch controller and don’t want to deal with batteries/Bluetooth this is a great pick.

Really love this controller. I use it in X-input mode on android and it works great; you can use D-input but some emulators like Retroarch don't recognize the buttons correctly in this mode . Buttons feel very nice and high quality. Bluetooth works perfect. I think this controller doesn't need the analogue sticks but it doesn't hurt. Got on sale for $35 and that is the most I would pay for it. All in all definitely recommend for some retro gaming and even modern Android gaming.
I really like the look and feel of this controller. Especially for playing the retro SNES and NES games on Nintendo switch online. My only complaint about this control is that it has an old USB plug. I wish it had usb C. I like to plug in my controls directly to my switch to play in table top mode and I have to carry an adapter to plug this directly to my switch. It’ll connect to the dock but I don’t use it for that. Other than that, this control feels great. The joysticks feel like PlayStation joysticks, the dpad is very nice and responsive and so are the buttons. All in all, I think this control is an excellent value. If you want a wired control at a great price than I recommend this to you
I bought this controller impulsively and I gotta say, it's one impulsive purchase I don't regret. It feels so nice in the hands. I've tested it on PC and Nintendo Switch using classic games, and it is like bread and butter. It is essentially an SNES controller with 2 joysticks, a home button, a capture button, and two sets of triggers (R2 and L2). If you are into retro gaming, I strongly recommend this controller.
I’ve been a pc player my whole life - as much as I LOVE playing on keyboard, sometimes a game is better with a controller. I have pretty small hands so any ps or Xbox controllers were a no for me (they’re far too big for me to comfortably hold)Enter the snes controller - it was perfectly small for me to hold and I can reach all the buttons! Now I can curl back in my chair and play video games :)For reference: my hands from palm to tip of my middle finger is 6 inches. My fingers average 2.4 inches long
I own two of these. They are, hands down, one of the best portable gamepads I've ever used. They're small enough to just throw in a backpack, they connect to just about everything, and the buttons and sticks are all great. AND it's close enough to the original SNES controller for all that old Mario muscle memory to kick in when you're playing retro games.Things to keep in mind though:-This works on PC, Android, iOS, and the Switch. But that's it. It's not going to work on other consoles, due to it not having the required security chips.-While I endorse using it as a portable gamepad, it's not necessarily optimized for that. It uses full sized analog sticks rather than the little low profile slider sticks some do, so it can definitely get caught on stuff. Though ... MoreI own two of these. Though on the plus side, the full sized sticks are really nice and even after years of abuse my original controller looks and works just like it did when it was new.-Unlike pretty much every other peripheral maker on the market, 8BitDo really doesn't push their software on you. To the point that it's easy to overlook that it even exists. It does, and if you want to do any significant customization or button mapping, you'll want to use it. There are a lot of options to be had.-Unlike many other mobile-focused controllers, there is not an included clip to hold your phone. That's a separate accessory, and it does add significantly to the bulk. Still worth it in my opinion, but if that's what you plan to use this for you may want to plan for it.
The DPad has been a staple of Nintendo's for a while now,and this controller really embraces the legacy. It pairs easily, and is very responsive. The build quality is excellent, and you'll be glad to learn that it has concave and convex buttons just like the original SNES controller. Only issue I'd have is the manufacturer warranty and support, but the controller itself is stable and very high quality. I would recommend purchasing protection just in case, however. Comes with USB-C and is compatible with everything through wire and Bluetooth. The grip may feel weird to some, but for kids who grew up with the dogbone it's easy to use, and for someone like me who didn't grow up with the odd shape i found adapting to it very easy as well, definitely better than adapting ... MoreThe DPad has been a staple of Nintendo's for a while now,and this controller really embraces the legacy. All in all, it's a very quality controller and I would recommend at it's price point for anyone who plays 2D games that utilize the Dpad, or anyone who enjoys the PlayStation stick symmetry. Not the best for games that require more precise 3D inputs like shooters, as the analog sticks are only slightly larger than those on the joycons, but if you're on the market and play a lot of SNES games or fighters, it's definitely a good controller to have. Portability is a plus too, as it's tiny size makes it the perfect on the go controller.
I own the wired USB version and this version and find the bluetooth version to be problematic. The Direction pads, buttons and triggers all work as advertised. This is a great SNES style controller and I had no difficulty using it with Steam and Emulation. My problem is there is not a reliable way to turn the device on, you must use the same button that initiates bluetooth connection. After you are done using the device, it will stay on until the battery dies.I find I have to delete the item from my computer after use if I intend to reconnect later which mean the device will occasionally go into Bluetooth connection mode. This is frustrating and just rediculous. For around the same price, I can buy a PS4 or Xbox controller without these problems.
