It's so odd to me, seeing so many 5 star reviews on this canned kitten food. I foster neonatal kittens, and have never had good luck with this food. My adult cats and my Am Staff, who typically go to extreme, sneaky lengths to steal foster kitten foods, won't even touch this. I'm assuming it's a cheaper canned kitten food, because it's donated to our Humane Society a lot. It's one that they typically give out to fosters when they are low on donations. Everyone knows that the kittens don't eat it well. I can get about half of my fosters, at most, to eat it if I mix it with warm kitten formula. Plain, they will rarely eat it. The adults cats in my home and my garbage disposal of a dog don't even want anything to do with it. That really makes me wonder about quality. Hills Science Diet makes far superior diet for any species you you would consider feeding their foods . Their cat foods are no exception. Their specialty diets and regular diets are prepared with dietary needs the highest concern. Each in made with veterinary I put as well I doubt very seriously you would find a good that is higher quality or better made. They make cat/feline, dog/canine, Bird/parrots, monkey/primate, rabbit/bunny, several other feeds items. You love you pets, feed them the best you can. Do your homework.

My purchase experience was fine for the product delivered, however this was for a recommended product close to our cats usual. The problem is that cats are fussy and with the preferred type out of stock all over Australia we had little choice. We now have a 99% full bag of "hairball control" dry food that our fussy felines refuse to indulge in.

My cat loves the taste of this food and the quality of the food appears to be good, but it is too large for him to chew. A majority of the food falls out of his mouth either in pieces or as a whole as he chews. My cat is 9 years old and has a good amount of teeth remaining (19). The photo of the shape of the food on the front of the bag is misleading. The food is actually a thick, triangle. Previously, my cat was eating Hills Perfect Weight. The size/shape of that food is perfect.
Good product, have been using this for number of decades without a hairball in sight. I use Hills products almost exclusively for my cats and needless to say, they love it. I use a mix of Dental, Hairball or hairball urinary care combinations. If I let them, the cats would like dry food for all their meals. Hill's dry is well balanced, and takes into account the cats need for more fats and vitamin supplements in their diet. Recommend
My furbaby wouldn't touch this. Granted, she's very picky/stubborn, but usually after a day or so she finally succumbs and gives the new food a try (and I do make sure to transition slowly). I don't think she tried a piece of this. I suspect it's largely due to its size/shape--why the large triangular shape? But maybe the smell also wasn't enticing. Because of this, I gave up the battle and returned it. I'm going to try brushing her daily to see if that combats the furballs. Happy that Petco would accept the opened, practically unused bag for a refund.
I've been feeding my two indoor cats this food for years... The only change has been the diet for their age. What makes this better is I can now buy it locally which is my preference. My business keeps local people employed. The ONE con... Having to explain to an employee that the store DOES do curbside pick up while sitting in the p/u spot! HAHA! Thanks for carrying Hills!
To introduce the food, I mixed it with the prior food. My cat tried a couple pieces and could not chew the odd shaped chunks. He managed to sort the entire bowl while spitting each of this kibble onto the floor and eating his old food. So much for trying to make a change!
I usually buy another product from the same brand but one day I couldn't find that food available so I had to buy this variety.I have 2 cats, at the beginning none of my cats wanted to eat this food, but as they were hungry they tried to eat it, but it was hard to chew, I guess that happened because it's bigger than their regular food. They eat 2-5 pieces and they just stopped eating it.I know cats swallow most of their food but at least I think it should be smaller specially for older cats.My older cat loves to eat but she didn't even want to try this food, she just ate because she has to.My other cat didn't eat this food again, she didn't like it. I don't know why; they're almost the same ingredients as her regular food, I thought the flavor was the same but ... MoreI usually buy another product from the same brand but one day I couldn't find that food available so I had to buy this variety.I have 2 cats, at the beginning none of my cats wanted to eat this food, but as they were hungry they tried to eat it, but it was hard to chew, I guess that happened because it's bigger than their regular food.
