Great product, good quality overall, loved the 5.7 metre length, allowed me to use single length boards without any joins in the decking. The pre-oiling seems to only be a light coating, so did wash and oil them after laying.About 10% of the boards were too warped to use at full length but managed to use them up for the shorter pieces.Would definitely use this product again for any future decking project.

Used this product for a few jobs now and the result I get with the oiled boards is better than I used to get in the old days. It always looks better when its finished and now I do the oiling for my clients when ive finished the deck and they dont have to wait another few weeks for the painter to come back. Not every board is perfectly straight but thats just what you get with any timber I get the same with spotted gum. If your good at what you do you know how to straighten them out. You can make your own tool and use a clamp problem solved and clients are happy.

Had this installed by builder as part of my new alfresco decking. There appears to be quite a difference in colour/grain across all boards. What is also disappointing is that the packaging strip placed around bundles of boards leaves some red ink imprinted on several boards. Suggestion please for how I can remove the red print before applying additional stain?

This stuff is convenient for use as fence screening and speeds up the building process. However, there are some drawbacks. Firstly, my batch (delivered) had a some damaged boards (scratches and gouges) and quite a few boards had staples in them. Then there's the hard-to-remove stickers on EVERY board that leave gum (that can't be sanded off without marking). And finally, the stain comes off when it gets wet and stains other things (like my concrete drive).I still recommend this product, but warn you to be aware of the above.
Relied on online order & delivery -- wood I received was clearly the odds & ends left by everyone else. Each 5.7m piece was 4 featherjoined lengths of random intervals and random woods. Wood from honey yellow, to white, to red to cherry.Had to return it; my deck would have looked like I stole off-cuts from a dozen job sites.
Used it as skirting boards for my deck, did the job. Bunnings are great, easy online ordering prompt delivery. Boards are ok, bows can be straightened out, ugly join marks will not be "as" visible when oiled. Boards are so lightly oil that it will only last a couple of months "under cover". Easy to work with, personally wouldn't use it as a decking board especially on a treated pine frame. I believe decking boards with Groves allow for air flow and prolong the life of the deck.
The Timbers delivered were all straight, A1 quality and carefully placed on the ground using a crane truck. From the time I placed the other to the delivery - everyone was professional. Bunnings trucking contractor truly deserves a big thank you as well, the care was phenomenal. Overall, solid timber, love the colour and the condition of delivery. Thanks Bunnings
The pre oiled merbau decking boards looked good when they were delivered. After installation it rained and washed the oil straight off the pre-oiled boards which also stained the surrounding pavers. The boards looked like bare timber after a bit of rain. I had purchase new water based oil to re-oil the boards. After re-oiling the boards they looked good again. It even rained the following day and nothing got washed off. Whatever oil was used to pre-oil the boards is rubbish.
The boards are good for the price point but note the following:* you will need to wash and re-oil, the pre-oil is enough to protect during installation but quickly runs after exposure to elements. Factor this into your budget.* there is natural warping and defects on some boards, able to be worked around however factor into your buildOverall happy with the purchase.
Really good idea to pre-oil. The trade manager explained that it was to offer a base line coat to the under side of the deck to prevent excessive water absorption. Makes sense.. just needed a top coat and didn’t cost any more than no oiled. Looks great!
