My cat has all sorts of allergies, (mainly proteins) these are made worse by the normal wet or dry cat foods in the supermarkets or online. (I have tried them all.) Although he still has an allergy to this it is more an intolerance than an allergy. This food is the best I have found and makes his eyes less weepy and his nose is not so swollen and the sneezing has stopped. His tummy is more settled and he scratches his body less on this food. He has stopped pulling his fur out to the point where he was bald and his skin was raw, inflammed and sometimes bleeding. This food was recommend by his vets and I would definitely recommend this make and type if your cat suffers with food allergies. It is a little bit more pricey but it will save you in the long term with the ... MoreMy cat has all sorts of allergies, (mainly proteins) these are made worse by the normal wet or dry cat foods in the supermarkets or online. He is much more content, comfortable and calm. He was verging on feral when I rescued him and his skin was appalling. My other rescue cat is happy to eat this food also so no more having to watch them when they are eating so they no longer steal each others food. They both eat this now. It is great. Try it.

My cat has been on this dried food, and absolutely nothing else, for nearly 5 years since he developed inflamatory bowl disease. It has worked really well and kept him healthy and happy. He loves it too. Fantastic product. Getting more pricey, along with everything else, but still represents good value.

Royal Canin Veterinary Diet Hypoallergenic is great for dogs that suffer from allergies. I love that Royal Canin make specific food for specific breeds as well. It is pretty pricey, but you get what you pay for. If you have a dog that has special dietary needs, then you want to give them what’s best for them and then price doesn’t matter as much.

My dog recently was hospitalized for gastrointestinal problems. He was losing blood and dehydration was bad. He is 1 of 7 siblings, we all talk. All of them are now on this food due to their issues. It is on the expensive side for about $6 a can, but it is less expensive than the hospital bill. Sid loves it and has been doing well on it. His siblings are all doing well too. Thankfully Sid love the food and we warm it up and it is gone. The crunchies (as we call it) are his favorite. This food saves lives, it helped 6:7 of our fur babies.
The vet recommended this food as my cat is over grooming and may be allergic to her food (apparently this is quite common). I've to give it a 6-8 week trial. I went into the store, but it wasn't on the shelf and the assistant said to order on line. This went very smoothly ( the price is similar on other sites) and I collected it a few days after ordering. So far it's good. My cat likes it. She's a very fussy eater - so I'm relieved that it's money not wasted and hoping that it helps with her over grooming over the coming weeks.
Royal Canin Vet Diet Hypoallergenic DRY Food is a premium cost option if you have a cat with gut absorption and allergy sensitivities BUT - it really is efficacious! My cat quite enjoys it on a regular basis, interspersed with other options which is gentle and nutritious for her 16-year-old body. It's definitely worth the cost.
My cat has been suffering with skin allergies for the last few years, constant scratching, grooming, scabs on his back near his tail and around his neck. When it's got really bad, scabs on his face and around his eyes too. He's been to the vets numerous times and had steroids which helped, then once the meds finished, back to square one. We've tried all sorts to get to the bottom of it and finally I was recommended this by my vet. Being a very fussy eater I was not expecting this to go down well at all but he loves it! Eats it like he has never been fed!!! His stools are now firmer and randomly don't smell. Only on week 3 but so far so good. The only thing I will add is he is always hungry, I am giving more than the recommended 60g a day for this reason. My cat suffers from allergies and this food not only made her allergy worse (she wouldn't stop scratching and licking herself for hours), but it also gave her diarrhoea each time I gave it to her. To the bin it went! Thank you Royal Canin for making my poor cat even more sick. What a top cat food brand you are! This is not the first time where I bought Royal Canin food and either had to bin it or it made my cat sick. This brand is not what it used to be...
