I was super excited to receive this as a gift from my husband. So many people talk highly of it and I’ve had it on my to be read list for a long time. If you love fantasy that’s packed with action and romance this is definitely for you. The writing on the pages is a little small for my liking but even with small writing the book has 419 pages, bigger writing would only add more pages to the book. The paper is thinner than that of a normal sheet so be careful not to tear it or bend cause it’ll do both those easily. But enjoy the ride it takes you on :)

I was in a year long reading slump before I picked up this book and it reminded me why I love to read again. From the world building to the storyline and the plot twists; this book had it all. Seeing as this was the first book in the series I can understand why the first 50-100 pages felt a little slow because she had to introduce a new world to the readers, but afterwards it became much more interesting and I couldn’t put the book down! It was a pretty lengthy book but it didn’t feel like it while reading. I haven’t finished the rest of the series yet but I have a feeling it’ll be fantastic!! I cannot recommend this book/series enough to those who enjoy fantasy romances. It is such an easy read and transports you to a new world.

So this is a really good book! I was nervous as the reviews on Amazon were not so great. However Acotnr kept showing up on my tik tok account and I was in awe about all the hype so I gave it a chance! Listen to me carefully, ignore all reviews and read it for yourself. If you hate it that’s ok read the second anyways. The first one is just a background and an explanation for the main characters growing. The second one though omg!!! This book is spicy all day long, but isn’t just spice. It’s got an amazing fantasy story line! I read this book in 3 days staying up till 2am to finish it! I was left torn, confused, joyful, in love, ready to tackle my husband into the bed, and wanting more! This series is incredible

This series was all over my FYP on TikTok and it definitely lured me into reading it, I wasn’t disappointed at all. I couldn’t put this book down and I’m currently reading the 4th book of the series, this is definitely the book that started my obsession with the series. This book gave me a beauty and the beast like vibe in the beginning. It has a touch of spice and lots of story. A few pages had me reading so quickly because there were moments it left me on the edge of my seat. Characters were described well and easy to picture in my mind. I’ve recommend this book to several people so far and I’ve made mini book clubs with each person. There is a huge ACOTAR following and it’s easy to find content online and to send book memes to my fellow readers !

Where do I even start? Well I may be late to the ride, but I finally started to read this series, after seeing it everywhere and do you know what they didn’t lie. This book was incredible, with not just the story of Feyre and what started out as a punishment for her actions, but into a love story where she needed to be strong and save the one she love and all those around her in the different courts. The writing was truly magical, there is something about Sarah who can truly make you imagine what your are reading with her words, the description of the places abs people as well as the emotions, and captivating and engaging. There are so many memorable moments in this book and I am itching to start the next to find out what happens next with them all. I can see why ... MoreWhere do I even start? I dropped this book and went back to finish it because the second book is supposed to be the best of the series. I didn’t like any of the characters much. The story was ok not the best. Lots of cringe writing. I just skipped a lot of the cringe parts. The antagonist was very unnecessary and not as powerful as it was described in the book. Well I just didn’t find her convincing. I wish the writing was better. Main character always compliments every guy she sees. Girl needs to chill! We get it they are supposed to be handsome. She was about to die in a challenge but she is complimenting every fae that she sees. Tf get real here!

Amazing balance of romance, fantasy and action!
31 March 2023

I have been looking for a book like this for awhile now. The beginning was slow, but as you read on it gets better and better. The end of the book had me on the edge of my seat. I also love the romance scenes. The character development in this book is phenomenal. If you like fantasy, action, but also love the "spicy scenes" then this book is for you. There really was a little movie going on inside my head as I read each page. I cannot wait to finish this series!I am on the third book as I write this review, but I just had to come back and write a wonderful review. 10/10!

Favourite series from Sarah J. Maas (who has amazing novels)
19 May 2022

This review is coming from someone who loved the series itself and think it definitely worth a read. Sarah J. Maas sets up a lot of characters and plot points for the series itself in her first novel, so overall this is my least favourite in the series however it serves its purpose of a good first novel.Feyre is an interesting character and I like her because she grows and changes throughout the series. I feel a lot of fantasy novels have characters that throw themselves into dangerous situations and come out of it with no repercussions on their character. Feyre shows the damage this can do to a person overall which you don't often see in novels.Despite this being my least favourite in the series I did enjoy this novel overall, but the series does only get better ... MoreThis review is coming from someone who loved the series itself and think it definitely worth a read. Raving and Ravenous for More

I've been in a reading slump for quite a while now, but my best friend recommended this series. I was skeptical due to my snobbery towards fantasy and more modern fiction (I tend to lean toward gothic horror and other classic types of fiction), but I cannot put these books down! Halfway through the first my partner ordered me the second, but unable to wait I ran to BAM to get the last three of the series. The second came last night and I'm already a third of the way through! I highly recommend these books.

Step into a whole new obsession
18 June 2022

This series is going to capture you (or not, I'm not pychic). This first book in the series is fun, angsty, romatic. I'll be honest though, it didn't wow me as much as I expected it to when I saw how hyped it was - it didn't quite give me all the vibes, but I was still hooked with the world, and with the main character Feyre, and I was keen to see where the rest of this journey would go. More then anything I wanted to see her grow into the 'strong female character' that everyone was telling me she would be. The journey does not disappoint.- Older YA (rest of the series is NA and increasingly spicy)- forced proximity + enemies to lovers (kinda)- girl saves the day
