I'm obsessed with this in my kitchen. I have it in matte black and it's a beautiful machine - but it's not just pretty, it works well and is a thrill to have on the counter! The glass bottle is a game-changer in that it's super easy to clean and throw in dishwasher, as well as keep in the fridge. You have to keep an eye on the CO2 for replacement but super easy to do. For what it does it's also a decent size. Definitely worth the counter real estate. (Full Disclosure: I work for Williams Sonoma.)

The Aarke Carbonator Pro sparkling water maker doesn’t look like other sparkling water makers. For me this is a plus as I’m using it in the living room, were it looks interesting. Various reviews mention the weight as a negative, it’s heavier in the way something made from stainless steel is heavier than the equivalent made from plastic, no one mentions the glass bottles weigh more than the plastic ones. I don’t know if I’d recommend the Carbonator Pro over other sparkling water makers, it’s a mater of Swedish design, glass bottles, and an old fashioned made to last build.

I love how this product looks. I love the size and appearance of the bottles, and I love the bubbles it produces - very tight and refreshing. However, the other reviews (all over the internet) are true... this will create a mess in the bottom of the machine every time you use it. I have tried releasing the bottle cover slowly, quickly, and even after waiting a few minutes - no dice, still water everywhere. I have tried filling the bottles below the fill line - no dice, still water everywhere. It's annoying, but I had a similar problem with my old soda stream (though, the SS made a smaller mess), so I've just accepted it because I like the look so much. When pouring into a glass, you don't taste it.In terms of customer service, Aarke will take no responsibility for these complaints - it's almost as if they're in disbelief. They'll tell you to not drink from the bottle and to not overfill the bottle. Oh well, it's great otherwise!
