Absolut Elyx is a luxury vodka expression from Absolut. All the ingredients are sourced from within a 15 mile radius, allowing for full control of the quality and consistency. The vodka is distilled from the finest winter wheat, sourced entirely from just a single estate, the Rabelöf Estate in Southern Sweden, where it is grown especially for Elyx. The water is sourced from a natural aquifer just a few miles from the distillery itself where it has been naturally filtered through the limestone bedrock over thousands of years making it exceptionally pure. It is copper which is key to the unique creation of Elyx. During the first distillation, thousands of sacrificial copper packets are added to create as much contact between the spirit and the copper as possible, reacting with sulphur compounds to remove them from the spirit. The copper packets are only ever used once and then replaced. The second distillation takes place using a vintage copper column still dating back to 1921. Every part of the still is copper, purifying the spirit further. The still is operated entirely by hand using skills and techniques passed down through the generations. It is through human intuition and feel that Elyx is given its pure taste, silky mouthfeel and exceptionally smooth finish.
