This was purchased for my shed. I live by the sea so I needed to have a padlock that would resit the salty air. This padlock seems to fill that bill very well. The padlock has a combination of 4 numbers. This is so useful as it means that we don't keep losing the key.The lock is well made and feels heavy and secure. Having the combination on the base of the lock keeps this area from the ingress of rain and I expect that this will prevent water entering the mechanism and so help to prevent rust. This is an excellent padlock that will last many years,

Excellent hasp, super strong durable and the combination lock was easy to operate on our front gates of our yard. I would now only use ABUS Locks and I would only now use Safe for these kind of products. I've bought inferior products in the past and now will not go past Safe they are the kind of company that I would most likely use as their products are tested and presented in a fantastic web form at very competitive prices. The packages that came, arrived very quickly which fills me with confidence that this is a company that is serious about their products and their customers. :)

Outstanding construction and durability. I've given up on several cheaper padlocks that just don't last long in outdoor use but this is in a different league, so worth the money. Long shackle really boosts ease of use, especially for a gate where you need access from both sides - as I did - because it's easy to turn it to the best angle to see the code. Key operated reset (to change the code) has pros/cons. Slight downside on security as any fully marine-rated lock can't be as hard as non-marine due to the metals used but, I don't think that's a big deal: it's plenty hard enough, I reckon (but I guess it depends on your individual application). Only real negative is the fact it's sprung so you have to push it in to open it, which is slightly counter-intuitive. Plus ... MoreOutstanding construction and durability. I purchased this padlock and I am very impressed with the excellent quality of it. I would strongly advise any one who does purchase this to actually read the instructions not once not twice but three time and then go and watch the you tube video not once not twice but three times. I made a mistake with the resetting of the code and then had to try all 9999 combinations to get the one I had accidently set, completely my own fault for not reading it properly. Be aware that there is no ?hack? to this padlock, no cheats and no short cuts, if you set the code wrong or forget it all together then you have to manually have to find the correct code, this makes it one of the safest padlocks on the market.
I have this lock connected to a SS Cable protecting my skiff on my floating dock. It "weathers" salt water, rain and corrosion better than any other lock I've ever used. It has been out there for about 5 years and still works perfect. Right beside the Abus lock is another boat that has the big name lock of the same design and I have replaced that lock three time in the same time frame. Great Product!!
Best padlock I've found. Used on an outdoor gate completely exposed to the weather and it's held up better than the master proseries locks I've used in the past. You can scramble the code before locking (master can't do that) which is nice when the gate is shared and has other locks. It allows you to keep the combination secret.
I bought this lock for my boat and both myself and a West Marine employee tried to set the combination to no avail. We then opened a second package and had the similar results. In both situations, we changed the combo by following the directions and entering this small key and completely locked the lock shut. The instructions were printed in a font size of about 4pt and honestly did not make sense for both of us to not be able to create a new passcode for this lock.
I have been waiting since April 2020 (13 months!) for the missing item from order CD-239165-415126. I was promised a replacement in June and again in October but have heard nothing since.
Harder than a standard lock for a chancer to try to work through the codes to unlock. Nice feature that a separate key is needed to reset.Seems quite solid and with 'marine grade' components should last well in an exposed outside situation.
