First off I'm sorry for length I tend to ramble and almost had my wife write this review for me instead because she would of took up less space while putting it in words to come close to how happy of a customer I am.(she could get paid to do reviews so sorry you don't get that better wrote review but bare with me I may answer a worry you have stopping you from pulling the trigger which I highly recommend)started off with buying just the air plate. Reason being that I could find similar products that where cheapier and sometimes I know the cheapier product works just as good as the little bit more expensive one. That is not the case the extra 20 bucks was well worth it. With that being said keep in mind I have a 5 star review and would have given a extra star if it ... MoreFirst off I'm sorry for length I tend to ramble and almost had my wife write this review for me instead because she would of took up less space while putting it in words to come close to how happy of a customer I am.(she could get paid to do reviews so sorry you don't get that better wrote review but bare with me I may answer a worry you have stopping you from pulling the trigger which I highly recommend)started off with buying just the air plate. Reason being that I could find similar products that where cheapier and sometimes I know the cheapier product works just as good as the little bit more expensive one. That is not the case the extra 20 bucks was well worth it. With that being said keep in mind I have a 5 star review and would have given a extra star if it was a option. Not only does the looks of all ac infinity products I've looked at go above and beyond looking better and more stylish than anything else I've seen on the market that is similar. I looked at everything on the market compared prices read reviews and weighed all options before pulling the trigger I knew I wanted to pull. on top of looking great. I was assuming once I got my box in the mail I would have to have my handy man father help me install them but on top of them getting here In a timely manner, with proper tracking, I opened the box to find that it was not only we'll put together to get it here safely but that my lack of handy man skills where more than enough. There was a very easy to read installation manual that you did not need a PhD to read, along with plastic outlines to tape directly to spot you wanted it to outline your cut and even mark where your screws would go. It also gave very easy to read and detail directions with pictures to show how to take apart and flip a fan around to make one blow air in and one blow air out. Which was not needed bc they had already done so instead of being frustrated I didn't realize that I just took the 2 minutes literally tops to flip it back around. It then snapped together very easily and conviently. The power cord was long enough to where didn't have to reorganize house to find right spot to plug in and no unneeded extension cords or multi socket cords that are a fire hazard and would take away from the good looks but also not to much to where had its cords hanging all over. Finally the number one thing I am absolutely stoked about is me being new to the concept of controlling tempature and humidity levels in a space espically within a house that has its own set. I was very excited about the three different running modes, high and low alarms and all the bells and whistles with this control panel. Which I did not find one not one similar product that had the same level of quality controls without having to add a after market piece that would be pricey and potential not work to get the same quality. while also being very nervous about it bc I'm not a great reader and would have to dial it in. Which if did have to dial it in the owner manual is very easy to read and not to long. I have reading it in my to do pile still to figure out and play with all the features because it was unneeded and still has been. before having this my cabinet it's in stayed between 85 to 95 degrees and 30 to 60 humidity. since installing this a little over a month ago i set the manual setting to 78 degrees, house tempature stays at 65-74 degrees, outside tempature stays at 10-60 degrees all last week and coming week will be from 0-15 degrees and I don't have one worry that my tempature in this cabinet will stay between 76-80 and humidity 30-35 just like it has so far. It does better than my houses thermostat. I will and forever will stop by ac infinitys site to purchase anything that can purchase here before any where else already out on the market or still to come. So I highly reccomend to not hesitate to press purchase but if feel the need to do research as myself just remember when find yourself back here pressing purchase I tried to tell you so.

I recieved my system when they said i would recieve it. I installed it about a week ago. So far it is everything ac infinity said it was. Easy to install with a couple power tools.( drill, jig sall.) Didn't take very long to install. Before the fan was installed in my stereo cabinet it felt very hot inside. The temp. was around 110' inside. After fans i set it for 80' and it was reduced no problem. When i turn off the amplifier, the temp.goes below 80 to 79 and turns off.It does everything they say it will do. And it is whisper quiet doing it. That is why i gave it 5 stars. I know It's only been a couple weeks in operation so i will update this review later if necessary. Btw. My wife likes the fact that we can now keep the cabinet doors closed, not open just to try ... MoreI recieved my system when they said i would recieve it. I installed it about a week ago. Using the fans to keep a cooler temp in a 2x2 closet that we are using for media equipment. They are working fine and keeping the set temperature. The biggest issue was the installation and closing up the cavity between the walls. So far no issues.

I have not installed the fans and control unit into my audio cabinet at this time. But I assembled the fans and controller on the kitchen table. Everything is functioning and the fans are very quiet even on high setting. The fans, connectors, and control unit quality and finish is excellent...I recommend this set up to anyone who needs to control temperature in an audio cabinet.
The Airplate T8 Kit.. what to know? Directions say that fans are shipped with air blowing out toward to brushed aluminum side but the fans were shipped with one blowing in and the other blowing out so no disassembly and reassembly required in you are going for a balanced system. Really impressed with this relatively low cost solution. It works well... like really well for $100. I like to auto setting and have it set at 79 degrees. After starting my receivers, it takes about 10 minutes for the cabinet to really warm up, but once it does, those fans kick in and keep my receivers and network equipment cool. The hardest part was coming to terms with cutting a hole in my nice cabinets. The hardest part was coming to terms with cutting a hole in my nice cabinets. For each fan, I drilled four holes, one at each corner of the template, and used a jigsaw for the rest of the cutout in my installation. I passed on mounting the temp control permanently and have it floating inside the cabinet. I think what sold me here is that the fan housing takes standard fans you would find in a desktop computer. If something fails, your cutouts and fan cases can be reused - if you're cutting into a conspicuous area in your built-ins, you have to think 10 years ahead. I have an av closet upstairs and I'll be coming back here when I decide to take on that project.
I was searching for the right cooling system for my audio cabinet I'm building. The first thing that came up was AC Infinity, so I kept searching to see what else was out there (You can't buy the first car you see, am I right?). After some good research, this was by far the best system I could find. When I received my T8 system, I could already tell these were going to be quality fans. From the box art, to the placement in the box; these guys have an attention to detail! It came with everything needed to install - Templates for the fans and control panel, different sized screws/bolts to accommodate depending on your application, and detailed instructions on how to dismantle the fan in case you want to change the fan direction from intake to exhaust. Installing these couldn't have been more simple. I'm very happy they used USB to connect the fans to the panel as opposed to any other connectors. I can even plug my LEDs into the extra USB port on the back of the panel, so when I turn the fan off, the LEDs turn off too!Thank you AC Infinity for making a great, affordable product!
The title says it all so I'll focus on the last point. I'm surprised how noisy these are and wondering if it's more to do with my installation than the product. I can only afford to have them on the lowest setting at the moment, which means they're not really doing their job and therefore they're not really serving the purpose I purchased them for - being able to close my cupboard door! I wonder if the bigger ones would have suited me better. Though the expense of the shipping means I'm unlikely to purchase another set on a whim without some kind of guarantee to the noise levels. The controller is nice, be better if it supported zwave or something so you could really get logic to come into play. Great controller, and the quality of the fans and their casings is very good. But at certain RPM levels there's metallic resonance passed from the fans to either the grilles surrounding the fans, and/or the surfaces to which they're mounted. As another reviewer has done I'm likely going to take the grilles off entirely, and maybe add some dampening to the undersides of the fan cases where they screw in to mitigate. So not ideal but I understand it's difficult to test for every use case.
The fans themselves are very quiet. But there isn’t any acoustic isolation from the mounting grill. This means that any vibration from the fans is propagated to what you have them fastened to. If that is, say, the thin plywood back of a cabinet then you get an amplified reverberation. I resorted to disconnecting the fans from their grills and sitting the fan units independently on acoustic dampening feet. They also run too fast. I could clearly hear the air movement in a quiet room when the fans were at their slowest speed. In my system, on “smart” mode, they would cycle on every 15 minutes or so for 30 seconds. This tells me that (a) they do need to run, and (b) they could and should run longer and slower. I installed a couple of inline usb fan speed controls to ... MoreThe fans themselves are very quiet. But this should be programmable instead.
My audio cabinet has been quite warm ever since I installed it. It has a couple small holes to allow hot air to escape so I always assumed everything was fine. That was until recently when I fried my Denon receiver while watching a movie. I opened the cabinet door to see why the sound suddenly quit working and the receiver was too hot to touch. I sent it in for repairs and found that it had gotten hot enough to melt a few solder joints on the circuit board. While looking for a way to cool the cabinet I came across this system, which was exactly what I had been looking for. Installation was easy thanks to the nice plastic templates that came with the fans. It looks great and better yet my cabinet now stays cool! I love the variable speed fans.
