I have had this almost $3000 laptop for one year and somehow it has consistently lowered my expectations of technology.I got my laptop last year around September/October as I was in dire need of something- anything to safe my work from a near 7 year old, tiny, broken laptop that was meant to probably last a year tops. For my birthday, my mother was so kind to hear my troubles and buy what we thought was a great deal at the time. The man who served us was lovely, yet held back key information that crippled an 8 hour illustration, making me have to start the piece from scratch and lose a chunk of income from it for the delay.Mind you, I had stated loud and clear what I intended to use it for: Drawing/Illustration making, Gaming, Video Editing, Streaming as well ... MoreI have had this almost $3000 laptop for one year and somehow it has consistently lowered my expectations of technology.I got my laptop last year around September/October as I was in dire need of something- anything to safe my work from a near 7 year old, tiny, broken laptop that was meant to probably last a year tops. For my birthday, my mother was so kind to hear my troubles and buy what we thought was a great deal at the time. The man who served us was lovely, yet held back key information that crippled an 8 hour illustration, making me have to start the piece from scratch and lose a chunk of income from it for the delay.Mind you, I had stated loud and clear what I intended to use it for: Drawing/Illustration making, Gaming, Video Editing, Streaming as well as some other personal use like writing or whatnot. I had asked the fellow if it could keep up with games that had larger files or heavy usage, and without skipping a beat said absolutely. I made sure to double check that It was ready for use straight out of the box- which we joked about the usual song and dance of setting up tech, he said was good to go out the gate.Fast forward not even a week and I'm back in for the illustration I had just lost and almost lost my mind over. I did my best to not cause a fuss, but ask you could guess, I was upset and asked for help on why it kept lagging and killing my work.Updates. The man over at the IT desk had a look and saw that it hadn't updated since I had got it.To say I was mad, not only at the man who had sold it, but myself, was an understatement. But surely that was the last of the problems....Fast forward a few months into 2023 and things are running ok. I had temporarily moved to QLD in this time and hadn't encountered anything out of the ordinary until the laptop just stopped. I restarted it and it was fine, but then the next day it did it again- stopped receiving an internet signal, curser lag, forced shutdown/ restart and then it was fine.So I began to make sure I was shutting it off completely each and every time I left it for more that an hour, but then it began to happen when the computer was inactive for say 30 minutes. When I took it to a stone up there they said tough luck and to go back to where it was originally bought and have them fix it.So in the process of spending just under $3000, you too can have the worst experience when it comes to technology, ranging from several hours of work being deleted and having the only solution be to "send it off and be left without a computer for possibly a month" to constant restarts, application lag, misinformation and straight up being told lies!Hope it makes corporate happy to know just how much they have inconvenienced a person who normally avoids conflict to the point of having them come in multiple times only to be turned away.
