I am absolutely in love with this scent. It is the longer-lasting version of the Classic Colonia. Better version, I should say. Fresh, citrusy, and mildly floral. Best not only for Summer, but anytime of the year when you feel like smelling fresh. Used it in my Italian escapade, and it will always remind me of Italy everytime.

A truly luxurious fresh scent. It’s light, smells classy yet refreshing. To me, it’s a citrus and neroli scent reimagined into a classic refined and soapy (and to me maybe even a little bit barbershop-like) DNA. Surprisingly good longevity, I get a good 7-8 hours, and a great summer wear. Quite pricey, but if bought on sale, a great deal.

It’s a classic barbershop/soapy fragrance. I would say it’s the perfect summer fragrance for someone looking for that classy gentleman scent (not necessarily mature scent, I’d say it’s versatile for age). It’s goes heavy on the neroli citrus, dries down to a creamier scent. The projection lasts maybe an hour or 2, so that’s a big downside and it’s the main reason it doesn’t get 5 stars. The scent is absolutely amazing for the summer though. If only it projected better and performed longer. This is a common problem with citrus summer scents so I can’t knock it too hard. So to recap: Projection: 1-2 hours, I would say arm distance Performance: 4-5 hours tops (spray on clothes/collar to get it to linger longer if you don’t plan on carrying it around on you to reapply)

I adore the luxury of Acqua di Parma products but only recently tried a spritz of Essenza in store. Had to buy it as fell in love with the unique scent. It is quite different to original fragrance and so much more refined than mainstream fragrances. I absolutely love it and highly recommend!
I was initially hesitant to buy a bottle after sampling it in stores during 2010 and 2011, but a bargain on the For Sale board persuaded me to go for a bottle. I was glad that I did, as I now find I am addicted to this scent.First of all, regardless of whether you like rose, you'll be please to hear that the heart is a very refined and masterfully blended rose/jasmine/rosemary that just has to be the best masculine-rose-blend I have ever tried. No powdery after scent, no dodgy notes to go with it. Just a very smooth, refined all-over scent. It's described as a winter scent strangely, but I find it has worked in the summer for me so far, albeit at limited quantities. To me it feels like a year-round scent, suitable for all sorts of weather.First off, I get some of the grapefruit and tangerine. Subdued and authentic, the rose/jasmine/rosemary heart kicks in fairly soon and the transition is just magical. There is petit-grain and patchouli in there too, but even after a day of wearing this, I still detect the heart notes on my skin/clothes. It's a strong scent, but not overpowering. Very Mediterranean, true to the AdP heritage, but so modern and very smartly put together.I have long been a fan of the original Colonia as the best citrus there is, and I still am, but Essenza is a worthy 'upgrade' that will for sure be in my wardrobe for years to come.
Classic and familiar smelling (this is a revamp of the 1916 Colonia, after all) Essenza is a light, very clean, feelgood masculine fragrance that smacks of refinement and Italian chic. "Refreshing" and "luxury" are words that spring to mind and spring/summer are the seasons where it will shine, but I believe it could be worn all year round. Longevity and projection are not stellar, though being a "colonia" one can't expect beast mode performance. That said, Essenza di Colonia is office-friendly and a must for old school enthusiasts; so much so that it is currently my signature scent. Yes, it is that good. Shame the bottle is opaque, so you can't see how much you have left, unlike the original.
I find this This Acqua di Parma eau de cologne gorgeous! Its citrus scent and subtle floral blends make it a unisex eau de cologne. It is slightly overpowering when first applied but settles quickly. It then lasts for hours ! I bought it for my husband but I sometimes use it too.
This is what I would describe as "aggresively clean". Essenza is one of those fragrances that makes its presence felt. Like those powerhose colognes of the 70's and 80's in terms of character. It opens with a fantastically soapy, fresh out of the shower smell. The neroli, grapefruit and other white florals along with white musk are front and center making you feel clean and refreshed. Even in this sweltering Texas heat. There is no woody notes to this mix. It gives me about 6 hours of excellent, non-offensive performance. One of my favorites of the several Acqua Di Parma bottles I own.
