Activision Call of Duty Vanguard PS4 Game

OK I love the call of duty franchise, but this game seems not to live up to the hype as other games. It's fun none the less. Alright the good things about this game is they brought the zombies back as in round style play, in tight quarters like zombies is suppose to be. The multiplayer is phenomenal! My wife loves it because of the zombies. They started off with one zombies map, then so far added two more including one old map that has been through all the call of duty games made by treyarch. The story of this one blew me away. I'm guessing because the engine they made this one with looks more real compared to the cold war one. But all in all get this game before they come out with the last one in modern warfare 2!

An Unbiased Take

I held off on getting this one because I’m tired of the rinse and repeat format; ESPECIALLY for WWII themed installments. However, I was actually pretty pleased with the return of reboot MW’s mechanics/engine! My only complaint is the large selection of sights for guns. There are so many that are just clones offering the same stats with only them having cosmetic differences.The Zombies modes are okay at best. The devs were really trying to reinvent the wheel by introducing a new mode that has a semi-open world concept, but is objective-based at heart. I’m not a huge fan of the modes only bc the completion of various objectives rely on players voting to do them. So you end up sitting around.Overall, I like it! I haven’t played campaign, but heard it’s anthological. There is a set of mini campaigns kind of like how Battlefield 1 and V were.

Another Mediocre CoD

Despite not often enjoying FPS games set during WW2, I kept an open mind going in to CoD Vanguard. I wasn't expecting a great game considering Sledgehammer's uninspired first attempt at WW2, unimaginatively titled "CoD WW2", but I wasn't going in to this game expecting to dislike it based off SHG's (Sledgehammer Games) first attempt at making a game set in the 40's era.I won't give a long analysis or give away any spoilers regarding the campaign, but it isn't as if you'll desire playing past the 45 minute mark. I wouldn't consider any characters, playable or NPC to be close to serviceable for a "story driven experience".Speaking of story, it does have one thing going for it- While playing as multiple characters through out the game, meeting many officers, civilians & other generic filler AI, the "story" remains consistent in being pathetic, unappealing, unimpressive & dull through out.If you're at the point with the series where you only purchase a game due to it's campaign, you're better of purchasing Half-Life 1 & 2 for an immaculate first person story experience. This pathetic attempt to create an appealing & emotional story is as unsuccessful as Blockbuster is in 2021.Multiplayer is similar to the campaign as it's uninspired, lazy & as forgettable as it gets. Maps are convoluted, with seemingly 10 ways to get shot from in every room & corridor. The time to kill near is instant, giving you virtually no way to react if you get shot in the back. (As mentioned, with the complex maze like maps you'll be getting shot from the back or side constantly.)That's not mentioning the horrific gun "balance", or lack there of more appropriately said. Only a few weapons are favourable, the remainder will not be touched by the majority of players as they'll receive a major disadvantage at all ranges.Bugs are literally unmissable, if I do reluctantly play a game I'll encounter at least one immersion breaking bug per game. I only wishing I were exaggerating, unfortunately not. If I do decide to destroy my mental stability & play more than one game, I'll consistently encounter game breaking bugs through out. Regardless of your ping or opposing players connection quality, you'll consistently be encountering intrusive bugs.Skill Based Match Making (SBMM) is as evident as ever, you'll only be playing against people of your skill level. Which never allows you to sit back, relax & enjoying playing a game. That's perhaps the worst part of this game, you either commit to trying your best every game, or you don't play it at all. Regardless of your decision, you will not be having any fun.Zombies is not even worth mentioning, the maps are as offencively uninspired & convoluted as the various ones in multiplayer, hostiles are pathetically programmed & forgettable to say the least.Nothing about this game has any redeeming qualities, it is another disgusting attempt by Activision to milk this once beloved series that somehow manages to continue to decline 10 years past its peak. Please do not purchase this game as you'll be thoroughly disappointed as I am. Thank you.

Completely Lazy Game

Call of Duty has truly gone downhill in a giant spiral. To start off I get about 15 mb/s on my internet which is more then plenty for any other game. But the call of duty severs are so slow I can’t even finish a match with good stats because I can only play without lag for about half the game. The rest of the time my character glitches all over the pace and freezes. And the price is ridiculous. They are literally selling another game for warzone. The zombies is easily the worst zombies that they’ve ever released and that’s saying something because I played the advanced warfare zombies. They put in minimal effort for a game that barely runs. This game is a straight up waste of money and before you say it’s just me, my friends with the series S have the same constant lag problem. If they want 60 dollars for a bad game they could at least have somewhat decent servers.

Don’t buy

Woke Garbage. Supposedly fictional but leans heavily on historical events while trying to rewrite facts. Too much time spent doing so. Plus the movie storyboard, while astonishing, ate up so much hard drive space and time. Less actual gameplay. I have the latest oled 120mhz tv but the game lags bad. Glitches, multiplayer issues, too much organized team play that requires communication but I have not witnessed any in random matches. Language barrier issues—nice initiative but bad judgement. Sadly this could be a really good game but the distractions wipe away any achievements. Another wash, rinse, repeat game that could of been remarkable if not for the woke PC narratives. I’ll give 1 star for effort. Don’t waste your money on this game.

Great console worth every penny spent!

This console is what they say it is and more! The graphics on this console from games that are optimized or made for the Series X is above par and well worth its weight in Gold! The speed of it is like they bottled of The Flash and put him to work inside! The lock isn't as sleek as the PS5's air purifier look but with a good Skin it turns out to be an awesome addition to my entertainment center. Here is the breakdown! Graphics: If you are moving from the original xbox or xbox one to the series x you will notice a huge difference in graphics even on a TV that isn't built for 4K viewing. Overall the Series X is on par to compete with most gaming PC's that are currently out there and once developers start taking advantage of everything the Series X has to offer I will be surprise if it doesn't beats some gaming PC's on the market today. Speed: Only gaming PC's that have the new PCI4.0 SSD's are as fast loading as the Series X with its games. To have a game load within 15 seconds that normally would take 60s or more on other gen xbox's is beautiful!! And that isn't even talking about the games that support the awesome "quick resume" feature. This feature is something that you don't know you wanted till you start using it!! The quick resume alone is a selling point for Microsoft and their Series X/S consoles. Speed is beautiful in a world that is always moving. I would give the speed a 5 out of 5 star!! If they can learn to make the loading times even faster then boy are we in for some great experiences in the future! Games: This is where, as of now, I have to say I wish there was more to offer! Game Pass alone is awesome for those who are new to xbox. They will have 100's of games available the day they turn on their console that they could experience for the 1st time and that is by far better than any gaming console on the market today. However, if you are looking for exclusive games that are new look great and feels great then there currently isn't much being offered by Microsoft. With their dozens of gaming studios they purchased over the past 5 or so years lets hope that is about to change and come E3 2021 we finally get a list of games that will make anyone want to go out and buy a Series X!!

It's a typical COD game

It's probably what you've come to expect from the COD series. The quick-scoping has dropped off from the ridiculousness of Cold War. The knives and melee weapons are still over-powered and gravity is still apparently not like here on earth, as you can still be a loaded fighter and jump 6 feet in the air. The maps are decent and plentiful although things you can mantle are disappointingly absent and they continually try to remove strongholds on the maps that are fun to hold (some call this camping) and turn it into Run & Gun everywhere. There are several recycled maps (with minor changes) but at least it's different. So far in the game, Sledgehammer has not inundated the game with clown characters and astronaut helmets like Treyarch likes to do. Less Talking, More Shooting

Im more interested in the game play and campaign stories of the COD franchise. Online play is an afterthought. Vanguard was a fascinating take on rebellion and resiliency. The animations were beautiful and actor performances worthy of the big screen. I particularly liked Dominic Monaghan as Richter. However, the game relied way too much on the theatrical cut-scenes to drive the story.

Having played COD games since PS2 days all the way to PS5 you can really appreciate how far these games have come and the work put into it. I'm really enjoying the campaign as it really feels like a great WWII add on to the over populated High Tech Modern style games we have had. I love my MW and MW2 and Black ops 1 and Black Ops 2 game but its nice to get another decent WWII shooter. It may not be the best COD but still great fun in Single Player and Multiplayer online.As far as maps go they are just that another COD style maps. Yeah you have your War Zones and Battlefield 2042 coming soon that are massive maps but its still the same formula since the day you could get into vehicles in Multiplayer games just larger scale and pretty looking. I myself play War Zone and will play Battlefield 2042 when it arrives but its nice to jump back in and play something that feels and looks older once in a while. The guns feel just like your other COD WWII games and sound the same. I do like the fact you can sort of give orders and make your team members ( in campaign ) supress fire and move here and things like that but its nothing to write home about. Acting is good and visuals look great on a decent TV with nice frame rate. If anything if you don't want to pick this up now I would say grab it when on sale or something as like I said its still great fun for a COD game. I would recommend this game if you want another WWII game to add to your collection or want boots on the ground.

Havent played this game but this game is what makes gaming a turn off in modern age since I thought about getting this Gens console. Saw lets play videos and here are my complaints. From the last game COD game played is COD BO2, this game/engine looks great but its too cartoony looking which is weird to represent WW2. COD WAW was the last WW2 game played for me as well. They need to tone down quick time events and inaccuracies with histories if they want to respect the war as well to feel kind of immersed into the realities of war. It looks like the multiplayer aspects look okay but the DLC bs is what keeps me away from trying this game as well. The biggest negative is the zombies aspect....you cannot pause in Single player mode.
