The A4Vs are perfect for my home studio set-up.I originally owned a pair of JBL 305s as studio/DJ monitors and I desperately needed an upgrade. I was debating between adam audio A4Vs and yamaha HS5s, but the HS5s didn't have the the full frequency range and balance like the A4Vs did. The bass is very tight on the A4Vs. I was scared investing in a 4-inch monitor because of the lack of bass, like the HS5s, but the A4Vs can sustain up to 52 Hz which is totally fine for my studio purposes. The tweeter is super clean, the clarity is amazing! Don't let the size fool you, these monitors can push a very good amount before distorting. It allows for full sonic transparency, so even with a poorly treated room you won't get an inaccurate mix. Use the "Pure" setting when mixing and the "URI" setting for when you're listening to music for fun. If you're looking to invest in these I would say go for it because there really isn't a small studio monitor, within this price range at least, that can improve the way you perceive your mixes/recordings. If you have the recording space and want more bass then go for the A7Vs, which are now the successors of the AX7s.

The sound coming out of these small speakers is surprisingly big, punchy, clear, and detailed. To me, they are as much of a pleasure to listen to than to work on.
