Ok. I LOVE my Ergo 360, but that infant insert was such a stressful confusing hassle to me, I ended up shelving the whole carrier and using the wrap until my firstborn was old enough to go sans-insert. Getting the baby in there was like doing one of those relay races where you had to carry an egg in a spoon without dropping it...but the egg was MY BABY.This carrier is awesome. Two quick adjustments and I can get my little girl in there in 5 seconds, which is great...because I have a toddler to chase around. You also now can tighten up your shoulder straps from the front rather than reaching around like a backpack. It has a lot of little compartments and hides the hood nicely when not in use.The only thing I\'d have to say negatively is it is harder to buckle the shoulder clip.My LO is only 6m so I haven\'t tried all the holds, only front. But this carrier can also do back and hip.All in all I still love my original ergo but if I had to choose between them I would take the ergo adapt.

I received this from Ergobaby as part of the BBC sampling. For reference I am 5\'4", size 12, curvy, 34H chest. We already had a standard Tula and an Onya Outback. DS is 19 months, tall and skinny at approximately 34" and 26lbs. I loved the Tula when he was little and would happily front carry. He prefers to back carry at this age and the Ergo is much more comfortable for me than the Tula or the Onya. To test it out we\'ve had several dance parties in our living room with him riding on my back in the Ergo. It feels secure and he doesn\'t fuss at all. We tried front carrying too, it\'s serviceable but because of the size of my chest it\'s more difficult for me to do comfortably now that he\'s bigger. One feature that this carrier has that our others don\'t is the lumbar ... MoreI received this from Ergobaby as part of the BBC sampling. For reference I am 5\'4", size 12, curvy, 34H chest. We already had a standard Tula and an Onya Outback. We tried front carrying too, it\'s serviceable but because of the size of my chest it\'s more difficult for me to do comfortably now that he\'s bigger. One feature that this carrier has that our others don\'t is the lumbar pad. I had a c-section and despite being fully healed, I still have sensitivity in my scar and the famous c-section shelf. I\'m always self-concious and uncomfortable back carrying because the strap usually cuts across my c-section scar or rides up and causes my shelf to stick out in an obnoxious way. In the front carry it was great to have the extra back cushion, but oddly enough, I think the lumbar pad really shines in the back carry position. The chest strap on the ergo is also adjustable up and down, which is critical for back carrying, especially for those us with larger chests. I can adjust it down below my breasts for a more comfortable fit. As a comparison, the Tula chest clip rides above my breasts and is uncomfortable. For front carries its probably not as important, but for couples who vary greatly in height or weight the adjustable chest clip will make a big difference.I haven\'t tested the Ergo with a smaller baby, but I plan to this afternoon at a family party and will report back. The adjustable seat looks relatively simple to use, although I question the longevity of the Velcro closures. My ONLY complaint is that Ergo doesn\'t have the patterns that Tula does. I have dreams of buying a new Tula every time they release a beautiful new pattern, but the Ergo is more comfortable for me, so I\'m sad that it only comes in 2 colors (presently looks like black and grey). I could always trick it out with some cool custom made accessories. The carrier we received is black and heavy canvas, so maybe not the best option for those who live in warmer climates. We specifically bought our Onya, which is made out of parachute nylon and mesh, so we could avoid having to use our heavy cotton Tula on a recent trip to Costa Rica. The Onya has become SO\'s go-to carrier because both he and DS tend to run hot. He tried on the Ergo and liked how it felt, but he\'s not as picky (for reference: he\'s 5\'11", 200lbs, typical male body type). He was concerned that he\'d have a hard time figuring out the adjustable seat feature, but he\'s not good with things like that and he wasn\'t comfortable carrying DS in a carrier when he was a tiny infant. All in all, 5 stars. Love it.

I've used Ergo Baby original Carriers for the past 6 years pretty extensively and I have really loved them to this point, however the Adapt is a GAME CHANGER!! Expecting our 5th child, I was actually looking for something that would work well with newborns without an insert as well as older children. This carrier is so easy to adjust from a newborn setting to the toddler setting. I'm 9 months pregnant, and have worn my toddler (now 23 months) the entire pregnancy in my Ergo original. In the last couple of months the belt on that version w/back carry has started to become understandably uncomfortable (not terribly just so just a bit). The belt on the Adapt doesn't hurt at all to wear low on the hips under my pregnant belly! The belt on the Adapt doesn't hurt at all to wear low on the hips under my pregnant belly! It is going to just be amazing when not pregnant! I plan on double carrying still at points with the Adapt for my newborn and using my original on my back while hiking with my toddler. Living in the mountains we frequent trails that would be hard on a 2 year old to do so having her in an Ergo carrier makes it possible. Honestly though, I didn't know an Ergo could be even more comfortable than what I've grown used to and as the fit of the Adapt is so much better on my toddler I may need to buy a second one for her. So, from a mom that has thousands of hours in baby wearing across 4 children so far under my belt, this is the carrier to get!
I feel like Ergo for what they were shooting for in this product. It is very user friendly and easy to figure out how to adjust it. It eliminates the need for a hot and ill fitting infant insert. It could easily be switched from one size child to another with little fuss. The back support is nice for front carries and does a good job of preventing the waist strap from diggingin a back carry. There is however something odd and awkward about the shoulder straps. They just don\'t lay flat. I thought it was just me, but I have tried it on several people with multiple body types with the same results. I also am generally not a fan of the thick and sometimes rough feeling fabrics that ergo uses. It\'s still a nice carrier and one I would recommend. It could definitely be a better value.
The best Ergobaby has finally been born. All the feedback that was provided through the years seems to have been heard! The Ergo panel was way too big for smaller babies and the infant inserts, too warm and cumbersome. Finally, the Adapt would allow for three different seat width settings via the modification of a few velcro settings inside of the waist and a few buttons on the outside of the bum. At 9 months we are comfortably on the third setting with room to grow and the first would be perfect for a newborn! They also added a new pillow like neck support that folds up and down. This was great for nursing and when my little fell asleep. He looked pretty comfy and snuggled up. The usual hood was neatly tucked away in a pouch in the front and unrolled right on up. ... MoreThe best Ergobaby has finally been born. Another new addition to this carrier is the lumbar support. This really made the weight distribution of the carrier all on the hips, where i like it instead of the shoulders, which can get tired real quick. I've used this soft structured carrier (SSC) all day with the LO and found it to be incredibly comfortable. It's also very neutral in the gray and black that they come in. This has to be one of the best mass produced SSCs on the market. Retails for $145, its priced competitively, and if they can keep up their quality control unlike some other carriers this will be a leader in the market. Check them out here! http://store.ergobaby.com/baby-carrier/adapt
My daughter is 18 months, 31 inches long and 21 pounds. Since birth I have tried a Moby wrap, a Lillebaby All Season, a Boba, the original Ergobaby, a ring sling and mei tai carriers; none have been comfortable for LO, except the Moby wrap which she is now outgrown, because she has short legs and the seats are too wide. With the ErgoBaby Adapt we are able to move the seat width based on what is comfortable for her on the front and hip carry, which happens to be red, and she is happy! I love to wear her now and she loves to be worn. She will see me grab this carrier and start saying "Mommy on". She really loves being close to us.My husband loves the convenience of being able to put her in the carrier and have it secured and adjusted so quickly and easily. The elastic clip covers also make sure the buckles aren\'t going to shift or come undone if she gets squirmy. The feel of the material is very soft and comfortable right out of the package. You don\'t have to wait for it to be broken in to start feeling the comfort which is really nice. The fabric seems to be durable and wipes clean with a baby wipe - someone decided to eat a blueberry while mommy was doing dishes - no bueno.Overall I think this is a great value for the price and would recommend it as a first option for anyone looking for a new carrier or a new mom looking for a quality carrier.
The first part of my review is titled "A Game Changer"; it got cut off when I submitted it.The Ergo Adapt changes all of this. There are a couple of similarly excellent carriers on the market, but Ergo’s reach promises to make this a carrier that will allow many many parents to carry their children safely and comfortably from birth through toddlerhood. The Adapt adjusts easily to carry different sizes of children. The integrated lumbar support provides additional help for the caregiver in a front carry, and the ability to wear the straps either crossed or “backpack” style allows a lot of customization for different sizes of wearers. I helped fit a parent with a 10# newborn, and she was comfortably legs-out, while mom enjoyed the freedom of not having extra insert padding. I wore my own 23 month old toddler in it on both my front and back, and the Adapt shone here as well. As educators, we advocate that older infants and toddlers be supported through the legs so that their knees are on level with their bum; at its largest setting, the Adapt fit my toddler from the back of one knee to the back of the other, and allowed him to comfortably ride with arms tucked in (no leaning!) when the headrest was buttoned to its top setting. The Adapt is a winner in my book, and while not every carrier is a perfect fit for every caregiver’s needs, the Adapt promises to be a fantastic option for the needs of a vast majority of caregivers who want to carry their baby in a no-fuss, easy to find, and comfortable carrier.
I purchased my first baby carrier 8 years ago with my first son. I thought I would go for walks with him in it everywhere, but to my surprise it was extremely uncomfortable, and hurt my back and shoulders, basically I hurt everywhere. With my newest addition, I thought I\'d give baby wearing another shot, but I couldn\'t afford one; so I made my own wrap. It adjusts to about any size and shape, even with my size 18 large hips. Sizing it to the weight of the child was super easy. My 18 month old\'s 23 lbs feels like it\'s evenly distributed, which means no huge welts from the extra weight and pressure for me.The couple things I had problems with were trying to figure out everything on it (all the stuff that needs to be adjusted to fit your person) and exactly how to put my kiddo in it without dropping her. I had problems understanding the instructions. I had to look at videos to figure everything out, but I\'m a very visual person. It may be easy for someone else. Now, we\'ve used this intermittently, the real test will be when we take it on our Disney World vacation. The fabric feels a bit thick to me so all that walking and heat could be bothersome, but it should be a great way to break this carrier in even more to see how it and our backs hold up, and whether it keeps her cool. Thanks for letting me try this for free. I\'ll update after the big test at DW.
The carrier itself is amazing. Super well made and thoughtful design... to an extent. My 8 month old son absolutely loves being worn, and this is our only carrier, so I still use it, but I wish I had purchased the 360 with the velcro waist. I had no problems when my little guy was just starting to fit into the carrier I wore it high on my torso so I could kiss his head, and at 5'11" this landed around about my waist. As he grew taller I had to lower the waistband, but the lumbar support always has to be in the same spot of your back, so while it is setting at my lower back the front padded area is sitting lower and the side straps are digging into the top of my hips. I am a size 16 so I have to use a lot of the waist band strap and the majority of the carried weight ... MoreThe carrier itself is amazing. Super well made and thoughtful design... to an extent. I think on a smaller woman it would be a much more comfortable design, but for me I just deal with the pain for my son's sake. Ergobaby really does make great products that wear well and last a long time. Our diaper bag is an ergo and it is just the best. If you are a more average to smaller sized woman I would definitely recommend this product, the adjustability of it is wonderful, the fabric feels great, and baby is super comfy in it from 7lbs on up!
