I own both Mac and Windows computers, but wouldn't consider replacing a hard drive with an SSD on my Mac--it's scary. When I felt the need for additional speed and capabilities, I simply purchased a new Mac that already ran on SSD. But I had no trouble switching drives on three of my Windows laptops. The ssd drive is much faster but you have to understand that even a faster drive is limited by the hardware limitations imposed by the computer you plug it into. Your internet isn't going to seem faster. Your video card isn't going to dramatically provide faster frame-rates. What you will experience is faster boot-up and shutdown times and faster program execution. The drive operates silently and seems to run cooler. - This is an excellent drive that worked with these ASUS laptops, I noticed the other 2280 with the different pins didn't get recognized by the motherboard. - You many need to look up in YT "ASUS X505ZA Teardown" for a reference in opening up this type of ASUS laptop. - If expanding space, create system image backup, then use Win10 Disk or USB to "recovery image". Once that is done, you can go to disk management and extend space, but only if it is adjacent to the image created. If Windows creates, in a dumb way, a system partition in-between, you will need to use cmd diskpart commands to remove that partition then extend your drive. (note create a different reverting point if you do for backup).

Two weeks on the job as a dedicated games and entertainment drive; no issues whatsoever. Crystal Disk Mark 6 shows seq read of 565 MB/s and seq write of 532 MB/s (NTFS, Simple format, GPT). These speeds are 5%+ and 130%+ faster than Samsung 840; Overall average of 20% faster than Samsung on random reads and 22% faster on random writes. Also significantly faster than previous generation ADATA SSDs, nearly matching 2 in RAID 0 config. I have 3 ADATA M.2 NVMe drives, 4 ADATA SSDs (3 different generations). Over several years have never had an ADATA SSD or M.2 fail or glitch. M.2s are used for OS; SSDs are used for video / photo editing and transcoding, so heavy workloads are normal.
