The Boston Marathon is a race. But it's also a goal, and a training plan and all the days it stays on your mind before the big one. The Adizero Boston 11 Shoes are built for mid- to long-distance running. They bring a race-day feel to training with a propulsive feel that comes from ENERGYRODS, which limit energy loss underfoot. They're fast, but that does not come at the cost of durability — the midsole mixes ultralight Lightstrike Pro cushioning with durable Lightstrike EVA.

Bought following recommendation from fellow runner for a new tempo / long run shoe. They are fast! In terms of comfort, they are a good fit around ankle and around the mid foot, the ride is firm for the first few runs but you get used to them soon enough.

Once broken in, these shoes have what you want as far as specs, but after 6 months the mesh webbing on one shoe started to get a tear. Not sure if this was a defect as the other shoe looked fine, but had to return the shoes. The carbon fiber on the sole does provide some energy back but at the cost of a stiffer run. I also play soccer and feet can take a beating, but these shoes weren't as comfortable as other competitors unfortunately.

I've been using the Boston 10's for about a year and really liked them, so this felt like a decent shout when the old ones needed to be retired. I've only done a couple runs with them so far, but if anything they're even better. Great balance between comfort and pace.

I've been running in adidas bostons since the 6 and these are my least favourite. Heavy, chunky and a sloppy toe box. I wear a size 10 adidas everything, but these I wonder if I should have sized down by a half. I'm hunting for another everyday runner now.
Purchased 2 pairs @$47.83 each. Factory fresh. Broken in one pair with 3 miles on the treadmill after work. Tips: loosen up the laces a lot to fit feet under sewn in shoe tongues, use only second to last lace holes, pull back shoe tongues fully: no pain from restrictive shoe tongues. Purchased another 2 pairs, new but were had slight stains on soles and one lace (store demos?); function unaffected. These shoes feel comfortable and has good cushioning to prevent joint pain. Energy return/rebound/bounce is alright but not as good as my Adios Pro 3s. YMMV.
Great rolling 'feel' to these, the traction is even and solid. Upper super lightweight but supportive, heel clasp nice and true. Some reviews have cited the tongue as an issue, but I don't find anything amiss. The ride is a little 'firm' at first, so I have found some patience with some 10k investment to make them feel as plush as they look. Distance-wise, light enough for fast 10k but certainly durable enough for a half. Or maybe further...
Lasted 3 months, 120k before the sides on both shoes ripped apart. Have had adidas shoes for years and never worn out the uppers before the soles before, let alone after such a short time. Not great quality.Unfortunately didn't think to keep the receipt as previously had good experiences with the Boston 8 and Boston 10.
Adidas took a chance in so drastically changing a much loved shoe. But I think they did a great job. I purchased these as a daily trainer to augment my Pro 2 shoes for race day (Also bought and reviewed here on Altitude). But first, a bit about me, so you can see if my review would have any value to your needs. I’m 67, 180 pounds, 6’6” and train primarily on roads and race road marathon distances. I’ve been running for over 40 years, and have the gnarly feet to prove it, so appreciate a good shoe.Build;I am always happy to see Continental rubber on an outsole, as it wears so well. There is good tread and grip on the Bostons as befits a daily trainer. (And yes, I see in the picture I managed to step in fox poop in both shoes. That’s life in rural PEI.) The uppers are not as breathable as I had expected, and my feet were hotter than some of my other shoes. But the uppers do lock your foot in, and the toe box is spacious. Some reviewers have remarked that these shoes are heavy, but I think we runners are getting obsessed with the weight of our watches and shoes and in danger of becoming weight weenies like our cyclist friends. :-) Size 13 Boston 10 is 12.5oz/353g, the Pro2 is 10oz/283g. I’m not that fine tuned a runner to be affected by three ounces.Ride; The fibreglass rods are noticeable, and in conjunction with the Lightstrike foam, the energy return is obvious. I found I was pushing more watts and speed without an increase in heart rate. I know the Stryd power pod reacts differently to different shoes, and I had no way to test how accurate the higher wattage was, except to correlate it to heart rate. While these are more stable than the Pro2, as they don’t have the drastic heel taper, these shoes are best suited to forefoot strikers. I’m a forefoot striker and found the shoe had a nice pop and toe off. When I tried heel striking, I was surprised how hard the padding seemed and how jarring the transition was. The heel padding is not as soft as you would think by looking at it. And after a few runs on clay roads, I think this is a shoe best used on pavement. The energy return system works best at high tempo training speed, though is more responsive than the Pro 2, which really only shines at race pace. I would compare it with the Hoka Carbon X’s response.Sizing;I usually run in a size 13 in Adidas and, in spite of some comments on the web, found 13 fit perfectly. The toe box is quite wide for an Adidas shoe. Conclusion:I am impressed with the Boston 10, especially at the price. They pair with the Pro 2 very well, and seem an ideal symbiotic rotation. And the red/blue colours remind me of my Adidas sneakers from the 70s.
I bought these trainers as part of my half marathon training block and they are a great firm and stable option. The rocker is great and the grip from the soles is unparalleled. These trainers were a replacement for my ASICS Glide Ride 3s, which were plush in comparison. The Boston 11 gives me more options than just a longer run shoe in comparison.
The latest Boston iteration is a really great shoe. Stabilising. They have altered the fabrications somewhat and it might take maybe a week or two to get used to but after that, it’s smooth sailing. Highly recommended.
