I would suggest sizing up. Great looking shoe plenty of arch support. They feel like they need to be broken in which means these will last you years. Great for tennis offering support and they won’t let you slide. Slightly narrower in the toe area but I play weekly so maybe it just my toes. Quality is above average

This is my second pair if adidas barricades which I use for pickleball. I love how supported I feel for the quick side to side movements required on court. No twisting or rolling an ankle in these! Al's had a great price on a shoe I already knew I loved. Thanks Al! :-)

These come up high on the sides and no matter the sock, it cuts my ankle. The tongue is also very long and even folded up, it hits high. They’re stiff as well. Beautiful shoe though, too bad. Also got in orange and had to change both of these mid match sadly.

I heard such great things about previous generations of the barricade, so I purchased even though the price is higher than I normally spend. I'm so disappointed. These are rigid and never broke in. They hurt and rub on the top of my foot and at the ankles, especially. They feel clunky and I've noticed my knees and ankles are hurting more. Adidas missed the mark on this.
Have worn Barricades for the past 20 years, starting with the classic Barricade 2. Still breaking these in and a break-in period is necessary. If they keep their tread for the near 12 months (playing 2 to 4 times/week) that prior Barricades have done, I'll be pleased. Worried that Adidas no longer has it's 6 month wear guarantee. Hopefully that doesn't mean the new Barricades will wear out sooner than the older ones.
I have been a Barricade's wearer for decades. Some have been better than others. These are good but could be better. They have the same great bottoms that ware forever. However, these require a bit of work before they are comfortable. First, they are not as wide as the previous ones in the toe box. This can be improved by relacing them. I removed the laces and relaced starting up one set of holes. I also placed some shoe stretchers in them for a few days. That also helped. They are now good to go. I also bought two more pairs to have. Now that I know how to work with them, happy to have extra for the future. At this price, can't go wrong. Ordered the extra 2 pairs from the online store. They were Amazing, so helpful. Would not hesitate to order through them again.
Beautiful shoes, great colours but I ordered a size up (which I prefer in sports shoes), and I still couldn’t even get them on my feet!…Interestingly I then found out a friend had ordered the exact same pair and had returned them as they were too narrow for her. She and I are totally different heights and frames. By all means order , as they’re beautiful, but go up 2 sizes!
I had really looked forward to finding a clay court shoe to replace my old Rolland Garros mesh shoe.This shoe is the MOST UNCOMFORTABLE tennis shoe I have ever had. I wore them around the house for over a week in hopes of breaking them. Then tried to play only to come off the court in complete agony; feet burning and almost numb since they do not breath nor are they flexible. Totally disappointed ; wish I could send them back.
I bought these shoes and kept them only because I had a very hard time finding tennis shoes that fit me. First of all the photograph shows only the outside of the shoe with the stripes. What it doesn’t show is the instep that has 2 inch tape that says Adidas. I find that to be very unsightly. Secondly the tongue of a shoe is very stiff and has given me blisters on my ankles. Again I would never have kept these except for the shortage of footwear during the pandemic.
Been wearing Barricades exclusively for 10 years and loved the support and fit. However, this shoe is the worst fitting, most uncomfortable tennis shoe I have ever tried. Returned the shoe. Heard the same thing from a teammate, who tried wearing this shoe one time, and won't wear them again and can't return them now. If you liked the dependable Barricade, stay clear of this Barricade shoe!
