A classic for a reason

The Mundials are an unchanged classic for a reason. Solid construction, lightweight, but the best thing about them are the turf/artificial grass studs. Too many of the modern designs for turf shoes have all these weird triangular and arrow-shaped studs. The Mundials have rounded spikes, like a smaller version of cleats, and the difference in traction is night and day.

First thing's first, these are game-ready right out of the box. It may look narrow but fit my semi-wide foot beautifully. It's dry where I live, and as long as the high school field's grass is cut how it should be, these can work on grass when it hasn't rained for a while, and of course they're amazing on turf. The leather is very soft and durable and I've received no nicks or any other marks from kicks on the ball or being stepped on or dragging the boot on the ground. The studs are very comfortable on both grass and turf, and when I have to get the ball, and the only way to get it is via the track surface or asphalt, they're short enough to be comfortable on those hard surfaces. The tongue is not bothersome at all, I don't even notice it at all, especially when wearing soccer socks. The weight isn't even noticeable, in fact, they feel lighter than my 11.2 oz kangaroo leather predator powerswerves. They may be a little pricey for a turf boot, but it's well worth the money especially if your team plays a lot of games on the turf, or even if it's dry where you live, I believe this to be the best turf boot around. Well done Adidas. Very true to size.

I played collegiate soccer in thr late 70s, coached youth soccer for 20 plus years and stoll play in a competitive over 40 league. Over these years i have worn many boots and none are better than the Adidas Mundial. I use these on indoor surfaces and outdoor natural turf. I find they offer good traction on all surfaces, your able to get a good touch and they are durable. Friends have convinced me to try other lighter boots but i have yet to find anything with the overall performance of the Mundial.

Best all around turf shoe IMO
2 August 2019

I will give this shoe a 5 star, but there are a few things to note. First of all, I wear a 9 to 9.5 in about everything. I went with the 8.5 here, and it fit perfectly. Other reviews support this trend as well. I am an older player, so stability, comfort, and quality are more important to me than having the lightest, flashiest, or absolute best control shoe. No shoe can fix my lack of skill. I did actually have to exchange the first pair due to a defect in the suede toe cover, but the rest of the shoe is great. They are old school, which I like. A true classic, for good reason. Traction on very hard dry outdoor pitch and indoor turf have both been excellent. the K-leather really hugs your foot, and the old school lacing is extremely effective as far as retention. I love turf shoes on lumpy hard outdoor fields for the way they conform to the irregularities, rather than rolling an ankle. I don't need to get hurt, and I feel stable in these shoes. If I was worried about a few ounces of weight, I would just skip the post game beer. Highly recommended! Also appreciate Soccer.com's easy return policy.

Durable

Top Pros:- Shooting - The best quality is the shooting from target because the front has a very firm front and can give you so much power.- Touch & Passing - the leather is great and keeps it's quality over time allowing you to bring the ball down quickly and pass it accurately.- Durability - I've had these football boots twice now and they are the most durable shoes i have worn by a mile. It's the perfect stitching at the front & quality leather. My first pair stood for 4 years of regular weekly playing of 7-a-side until the sole started to peel. I bought the pair again.Top Negatives:- Dribbling isn't the best because it lacks that rubbery sole compared to the nike mercurials. Gold Standard
7 June 2019

The mundial is the gold standard in turf/field turf shoes. The positives are numerous - Sole provides excellent traction and is extremely durable and long lasting. -Full grain 'roo leather provides durability without sacrificing touch during shooting. -Double toe + stitching gives this shoe a durablity unmatched by ANY other soccer shoe. -Outstanding material quality and stitching/finish -Great versatility, match quality on hard grass fields. -Handles an extra insole with ease Negatives: They are a bit heavy compared with some competitors, and they don't provide as much feel as some of the other top class competitors I've just ordered another pair for the day when my current pair dies...which maybe never at this rate. Into my 5th year on the current pair and they fit like a glove. There is a reason the price never changes, and they never go on sale. There had not been a competitor even worth looking at until the Puma exec TT, which is intriguing, but likely far less durable.

Great boots
7 February 2024

This is my third or fourth pair. I lost count. I wore the original copas for outdoor fields for years. Now that I mainly play on turf these are my goto. I have also used them on grass and they perform well. I play 1-2 nights a week and these last me a couple of years. Every time they fail it’s the sole that delaminates from the bottom. Everything else is good. You can’t beat the kangaroo leather. I can usually shoe goo it back but I usually take it as a sign to get a new pair. By that time the cushion is compressed and probably not providing the support it used to. They can be a bit more bulky and wide than other shoes. But I love them. The leather and cushion are great for an older player like me.

Great for my wide feet
24 April 2023

IF YOU HAVE WIDE FEET, BUY THESE. I have a 2e width right foot and 4e width left foot and my instep (girth of my foot lol) is very tall… i’m 5’6 150 athletic build and not sure how my size 9 foot is so wide but it is. get these for futbol. leather stretches and molds to your foot within a couple of wears. i STRUGGLED to find a pair of boots that would work for me without paying $300 for mizuno. you need genuine leather so here it is (not all genuine i don’t think but it sure seems like it) mixed reviews on that side of the house but it all feels like k-leather to me.

This Turf Shoe Has It All!
7 June 2019

At first glance I thought that these shoes would be old fashioned, uncomfortable and generally lower class compared - say - to the more modern Predator turf shoes. However, I'm now pleased to say that I was wrong. These shoes are extremely comfortable. The Kangaroo Leather moulds to your foot making these shoes almost an extension of your skin. The Predators may look classier but ultimately nothing beats comfort, BUT these look good too! I use them not just for refereeing but also for kicking balls at the park and they can do this almost as good as a regular football boot. As a referee I was proud to see a lot of the World Cup refs wearing this same shoe. I knew then that I had made the right choice. For quality and comfort these shoes cannot be beaten. NOTE: If you are reading this from AUSTRALIA don't worry about the fact that these shoes are from the US. Postage was only 7 business days and the customer service was unparalled. You just have to wait till the Aussie dollar is at a good price!

Wish That I Started Here
7 June 2019

After trying so many different brands and styles over the last seven years, finally a shoe that provides comfort, durability, protection, touch AND traction on wet turf courts. I was initially apprehensive about the price - having paid similar amounts for other styles that fell apart in just weeks of match play - but after six solid months use and still going strong with no sign of wear, Adidas have really come through with this one. Wish I had started my expensive journey here and saved a packet. For those who have not yet worn a pair of Mundial Team Turf, be warned they do take a while to break in properly. Wish I had started my expensive journey here and saved a packet. For those who have not yet worn a pair of Mundial Team Turf, be warned they do take a while to break in properly. Even after 4-6 tough tackling games they were still quite uncomfortable around the heel area for me. Good news is that they just fit better and better as time goes on. After half a season of turf use, mine now feel like a super comfy pair of leather slippers - with all the extra protection that leather provides - and I couldn't be happier. I found these boots to be an almost identical fit to my Samba Originals casual shoes though the extra reinforcement around the toe box means it takes a little while longer to wear them in comfortably. I have small, wide feet, and usually wear somewhere between Size 6 and Size 7 depending on the brand/model. Once worn in properly, Size 6.5 of the Mundial Team Turf was the perfect fit for me, and the leather stretched comfortably to my foot shape as time went on. Overall? Quite simply the best boot I have ever tried for turf use. It's the full package and worth every cent. Little wonder why this model hasn't changed from the original design, as it's just great how it is. Impressive.
