Dropping as a revamp of the iconic Samba with thicker tooling the Adidas Samba XLG White Black Gum reimagines the fan’s favourite terrace trainer while still staying true to the source material. Featuring white leather across the almost entirety of the shoe’s upper with signature details like the T-toe suede overlay and black 3-stripes on the sidewall of the shoe for some much-needed contrast. A faithfully recreated gold foil ‘Samba’ print appears on the lateral panel as with the majority of previous Samba’s new and old. However, the details to be excited about with this release aren’t necessarily what remains the same, but instead the things they have changed. Underfoot, the traditional gum rubber sole has doubled in size creating an intentionally chunky aesthetic that partially explains its XLG moniker. Boasting the same traction pattern on the outsole this design keeps it authentic despite the overhaul of a classic.
