I went nuts and bought like 5 pairs of hiking/trail shoes, including Salomon X 4 Ultra mid, these Adidas in both low and mid, Keen mid, and another. After a few months trying them all out in just day to day wear or yard work, and some mild outdoor walks, these are my favorite. Summer here is hot and humid, so they can be a little warm with the Goretex, be aware. Otherwise they fit me better than Salomon, seem more durable (so far) and are extremely tough. I have total confidence on any surface my feet are protected. Your needs/use may vary, for me this is to be a tough everyday shoe. Tired of wearing out tennis shoe/running shoes.

A few reviews suggested that these shoes were a bit tight. I didn't find that to be the case. As a matter of fact, I usually buy only Adidas, and have been looking for a trekking type shoe to take with me when I travel to Nth Qld later this year. Bingo, got two in one, and a shoe to wear in my everyday use. Furthermore, I use US sizing as a general rule, so all good. They fit perfectly, so no returns necessary. They are well built, great tread and waterproof to boot (pardon the pun). Buy these shoes if you're looking for a sturdy trekking shoe.

The trainer is good value for money - all I will advise you to caution is that they - as some others have said - are a tight fit; I would advise going a half size up on your normal size, possibly a full size up if you want comfort and a wear a thick sock.

I bought these walking shoes about a month ago and I really like the look of them. The materials and build quality I can't fault but the price and fit aren't great. I am a size 11 and I normally have no problems with finding a shoe that fits. Unfortunately these shoes feel more like a 10 and they hurt my feet. At first I thought it was because they were new and prehaps they'd give a little, but after a month they still rub. Unfortunately I can't return them because I've worn them so that's £80 wasted. Someone who shops at my local charity shop is going to be SO happy. I guess what I'm saying is - buy a size bigger than you are.
I normally wear size-43 footwear, so decided to order a 9.5, which proved the correct decision.Very comfortable and excellent to walk in ‘straight out of the box’. My first couple of walks were in long wet grass, and for the first time in quite a while (from using other supposedly waterproof shoes/boots), my feet remained completely dry. Just about to do some ‘gentle trekking’ in Scotland in the new shoes, and – if they ‘perform as anticipated’ – I’ll be buying a second pair when I return home. So far, so good!
I bought these shoes a couple months ago and have been wearing them daily just around Melbourne. I do a lot of walking though. The shoes are firm but comfortable. The upper is in great condition but the sole already has significant wear particularly the heal. It's a shame as otherwise really like these shoes.
I've been wearing these for weeks now without complaints. Brought them for the change of seasons, as they have a goretex sock, superb grip and durability. Have been rock climbing, trekking along coastal areas and up and down some decent hills all with variable surfaces and conditions. I would recommend these to anyone who likes to be outdoors, no matter the weather, day or night.
My previous pair of these AX4 Goretex hiking shoes (bought only recently) were given a good workout in often difficult terrain in Scotland, and I was so pleased with them that I bought this second pair. The shoes gave me great reassurance when balancing on slippery boulders across water (for example), and come at an excellent price. And compared to similar shoes from another supplier (which soon looked very tired), these cleaned up so easily and still look fab. I bought size 9.5 when I usually wear a 9, and there is plenty of room. Very pleased.
Bought last month. Thankfully I did. So much rain. So dry feet. Very well constructed shoe. Looks good too. For such a robust shoe, very comfortable indeed. Especially compared to other brands. Will Def buy Adidas again. And definitely use sports direct. Thankyou.
