Great looking but run too small

I had to return these. The toe box was unfortunately way too narrow. These definitely run small in the size you are accustomed to buying. I think if they sized these in a wider size and you size tbat up they would be a perfect solution for light trails. My original purpose for the purchase.

I have close to 150 miles on these and they feel great! My primary use is hiking. They fit true to size. I have used them on black top trails and hill country and they are great on both. Had some Hokas before and they threw my weight forward and hurt my back. I can feel myself walking upright in these. No back pain or hip pain. Just great support all the way around. I would recommend in a minute. I’m 6”1’ 205#’s age 71 no comments on the age please! Lol

I have old Terrex GTX (not boost version) and it felt great thru all years and miles hiked. But with this new boots something changed in a midsole profile. After wearing it more than 5 min my feet are in pain. I picked right size, with some little room in a toes, and toebox is not narrow, but closer to arch and heel it hugs the feet in such a way that i feel compression from the sides with a considerable pain. I decided to give it a try and used these several times on short and long hikes; but nothing changed. Once i tight it up and go for a 5 min walk, mt feet just cramped and in pain. Someone suggested to ease up the lacing, but in this case my toes slips forward and are in pain as well. Not sure whats wrong with these, just a strange template ( looks like arch is ... MoreI have old Terrex GTX (not boost version) and it felt great thru all years and miles hiked. I really wanted to love these, but looks like I should throw it away, and its really sad, case these are not cheap. Another bad design is seam at the heel, because ultraboost sole is soft, the heel goes up and down and rubs against the seam; on a long hike enough hike i can tear my heel to the blood.

Men's Terrex Free Hiker GORE-TEX 2.0 Midheight

These hikers were purchased for light winter hiking and it fits the bill. The Continental sole provide great grip on frozen and other hard surface as well as mud and snow. It is more cushy than I am used to in a hiking shoe and resemble a running shoe in that regard. However, the shoe is extremely stable especially on uneven surfaces I usually wear a size 9, but I moved down to an 8.5 as the "9s" felt a little loose. I am pleased.

Received a used pair!
16 December 2023

The pair I received had dirty soles, and the laces were undone in such a way that it was clear someone had taken them for a stroll before sending them out. I had just received another pair from a different retailer days prior, so I know exactly what a new pair should look like, down to how the laces are tied. REI support would only offer a return, but my size is no longer available, so I'm just stuck with a used pair when I paid for a new one. Truly disappointed with what REI has become.

These Shoes Are the Cat's Pajamas

Before the adidas Terrex Free Hiker 2 GORE-TEX Hiking Shoes entered my life, my hiking experience was akin to a shirtless old man in cutoff blue khaki shorts yanking a lawnmower starter cord - frustrating and far from glamorous. But once I slipped my feet into these magical marvels, I knew I had found the purr-fect pair! The soft, supportive PRIMEKNIT uppers and gusseted tongues hugged my feet like a long-lost lover - or perhaps a cuddly kitten that just won't let go. The formfitting comfort was a game changer, making my hikes feel like a walk in the park (which, I suppose, they were). And speaking of parks, have you ever tried hiking during a sudden downpour? The formfitting comfort was a game changer, making my hikes feel like a walk in the park (which, I suppose, they were). And speaking of parks, have you ever tried hiking during a sudden downpour? I used to dread it, but now I welcome the challenge with open arms and dry feet, thanks to the GORE-TEX membranes. They seal out wet conditions like a superhero's cape, while still letting my feet breathe as they warm up - no more sweaty, soggy socks for this hiker! But these shoes are more than just pretty faces. They're also tough as nails, with abrasion-resistant weldings that add durability to rival the world's strongest shirtless old man yanking that lawnmower cord. And the Boost™ foam midsoles? They're like having a personal trampoline strapped to your feet, providing long-lasting cushioning, energy return, and adaptability on even the rockiest of surfaces.Don't get me started on the internal EVA frames, heel supports, and Continental™ rubber outsoles. They all work together to provide lateral stability, midfoot support, and confident traction, whether it's wet or dry. It's like having an army of shirtless old men in blue khaki shorts pulling you up the mountain - minus the weird stares from fellow hikers. And if you're a fan of Mother Earth (as we all should be), you'll be thrilled to know that the uppers contain a minimum of 50% recycled content. That's right, these shoes are not only stylish, comfortable, and durable, but they're also eco-friendly. It's like a quadruple whammy of awesomeness! In conclusion, the adidas Terrex Free Hiker 2 GORE-TEX Hiking Shoes have truly revolutionized my outdoor adventures. They're the cat's pajamas, the bee's knees, and the shirtless old man's lawnmower cord of hiking shoes - and I wouldn't trade them for the world.

Too Wide
5 November 2023

Good constructions and design. However, these boots seem to run too wide (both heel and forefoot), my feet profile is regular. Hence buying a size smaller, results in size too short (toe problems). Buying the correct size results in size too wide (the foot is unstable inside the boot causing pronation issues). Sad.

Too small, narrow and tight
26 December 2023

Too narrow and tight in the feet. I normally wear an 11.5 in US Mens. I bought the 12 in boots knowing I'd be doing some snow and cold weather hikes so possibly thick socks...but these have no room for thick socks even a half size too big. Disappointed to see that REI won't do free returns. Have to pay $6 to return shoes that don't fit like normal boots would.

Top Notch Boots
11 October 2024

5☆ Rating from me, Although these boots size a little bigger I was able to get the required uk9.5 as opposed to the usual uk9 I take normally so was really pleased about that, The boots themselves I have to say are very impressive. Well made and ultra light and comfortable but also giving lots of support to my ankle, can definitely see myself getting another pair maybe in a different colour perhaps. Even although I live in Scotland where it rains quite alot lol I haven't had the chance to test them out for waterproof ability, I don't think there be any worries that way as can see from the build quality they will be fine.Purchased these at a huge discount from Rrp and were delivered in around a week from somewhere in Europe so that was fine.Well happy

Truly The best sneaker ive ever had!!
7 January 2024

The best shoe ive ever worn! Literally the best sneaker ive ever had! Im 6'1 220 lbs size 12 (i am a 12 in every other shoe/boot i wear). I work as a capenter and mainly work outside. I mainly wear keen's to work but they didnt have my size in store so i bought these until my new pair of keens came in.They are the most comfortable shoe ive ever worn. My feet will sometimes bother me at the end of the day especially if im on a ladder for most of it. But not with these, my feet feel amazing!I wear them as a regular sneaker, to hike, and work in. They are truly waterproof and very warm. The tread has very good grip(im picky when it comes to traction). I will definitely be buying these again. Couldn't recommend more!Great hiking shoe.
