Bought this after returning a Ryobi for second time without even getting to use it due to fault. This is so much better. Was well worth the extra $$$ and should have done it from the beginning . Feels very solid and sturdy. Cuts are precise. If looking at Ryobi don’t. Just spend a bit more and get this. Well worth it.

Disappointed in tolerances. This is a fine saw for roughed work but if you want to do trim carpentry it’s not really up to the task without modification.Fence extension halves are not square to deck. Means cutting things like skirts you have to use bevel and lie material flat rather than mitre function to get accurate cuts otherwise the piece gets pushed against rear fence during cut and you get a cut that is 2-3mm out because the fence extensions are not square.Needs better machining I bought because I wanted a saw that could do it all from big rough cutting to fine finish wor but as poor manufacturing dictates again that is too much to hope for.I checked the display model at Bunnings same problem. Checked a makita fence is perfect.Check before you buy!

Good tool performed really well. The dual bevel and the preset degree settings worked perfectly. I do like the ease of moving from the presets around a bit further as well. The flimsy plastic connecting the dust catcher to the saw broke straight away while I was moving the saw, but it slots back in and can sit there. I'm not too fussed about that.

Bought this saw about 3 weeks ago..The saw works great. Square cuts of of the box. Great indexing at all the important angles and on the bevel angles as well. Blade is very good on soft pine as long as you take your time cutting. Very easy to use and setup. Only gripe is the LED shadow light system has stopped working.... heard something pop on it and it seems to be the LED light or the power to the light.... Unfortunately there are no replacements saws at Bunnings where I bought it and the nearest repair centre is 150kms away. Bit annoyed... it still works well but I miss the shadow light as it worked brilliantly... when it worked. Looks like I will have to get my money back and get some other saw as I use the shadow light a lot and need a saw with a reliable gauge ... MoreBought this saw about 3 weeks ago..The saw works great. I would recommend the saw but the shadow light going so soon has been annoying and really shouldn't happen at all
Recently bought this saw and it’s great so far. When deciding on a saw I compared this to the other brands in the same price bracket including Makita and Metabo and the quality and features are much better. Cuts very clean and straight. I love the shadow guide but it doesn’t work in direct sunlight. That being said the competitors lasers are known for getting covered in sawdust and being useless anyway. I bought a Bosch 80T blade for MDF cabinets but the blade that comes with the machine is clean enough that I haven’t needed to change yet and the convenience of being able to cut framing timber with the same blade means I probably won’t swap any time soon. The only slight issues I have is that the table insert sits just below the rest of the table so any small pieces ... MoreRecently bought this saw and it’s great so far. The only slight issues I have is that the table insert sits just below the rest of the table so any small pieces that you want to cut need to sit on a zero clearance plate and the top part of the fence pulls back slightly from the bottom part of the fence when it’s tightened. Again only an issue for cutting small pieces and something that can be worked around.
1800watts more than enough power for everything, it has a "kick" when you start it up and dimms the lights. Argh argh argh. The instructions are a little difficult to interpret so recommend giving it a really good lookover first. Cuts 100mm post effortlessly and square. This beast takes up a fair amount of space. the 70' cut is one side only, the other is 45. Overkill for my workshop. One issue with the packaging is an enormous amount of polystyrene to dispose of. Dust bag captures about 70% of the chips the rest goes everywhere, I use the card board box it came in as a dust box cap. Not many useful youtube videos on this one.
Wow! What an improvement! I’ve gone from struggling with an inferior saw with many of the same features but without the quality of my new saw. Each time I use it I’m impressed with finding new features. Also so pleased to receive the wonderful bonus of an AEG circular saw. Thanks.
This is a very well constructed saw, it’s solid and the feels like a $500 plus machine. However once you finally figure out how to release the saw head, a difficult task if you read the manual, which is impossible to decipher and it’s contradictory, that’s where the issues start. Out of the box the cut is ok (for framing) but if you cut and turn over an end a piece of timber, it’s not square. That’s ok! Just adjust the bevel. That’s where the fun starts, once you figure out from the manual how to micro adjust it (almost impossible), you’re faced with the challenge of actually adjusting it. Too inaccurate. That’s just the bevel....I’d personally recommend looking at another brand with clearer instructions and perhaps you tube tutorials.I had to return mine.
After reading countless reviews it was a no brainer to replace my burnt out Makita saw with the AEG. Excellent price and specs. Really solid unit and works perfect. Very happy!! Picked up a redemption offer (circular saw) as well. Have now started changing over all of my Makita gear to AEG 👍
I was in the market for a mitre saw at a price point slightly below this one but decided to pay a little bit more. Suffice to say I did not regret it. Having said that, this saw is about 30% less expensive than other big brand similarly-featured saws. It was one of those purchases you make every so often that you are really really happy with. This saw is precise right out of the box, powerful, easy to use. The shadow line shows exaclty where the blade is going to land. Just line the shadow of the teeth to the waste side of your line. The fact that you can cut mitres right around to 70deg from square (or 20deg depending on your point of view) is an extra bonus. The turntable is solid and the detent stops are also solid & precise. Building a merbau handrail for my deck was a snack (see photos). I am no carpenter or tradesman of any sort, but this saw makes me look good.
