I have original AeroPress from 2012 that's still working great with almost daily use, even though the plastic has developed some of the light "crazing" / bubbling that the original pre-2014 AeroPress plastic was known to be prone to after a few years. The bubbling is mostly cosmetic, but requires a bit of care when positioning the plunger not to cause slight leaking when brewing inverted, so I've been considering a replacement to avoid having to worry about that.I've been eyeing the AeroPress Clear since it came out, and was impressed by the properties of the Tritan plastic (claiming to be safer, more durable, and more heat resistant), so I finally decided to treat myself to it. It's been working great so far: it's shaped pretty much exactly like the original, and brews the same way, except that the clear plastic makes it a bit easier to see the colour of the brew, how coffee grounds have settled, and so on.One thing to note for folks replacing an original AeroPress is that the new AeroPress releases don't come come with the nice hexagonal funnel or filter holder that the original used to come with, so if you use those, you'll need to hang on to them, or get them from the official AeroPress store. I use a steel filter disc, so I don't use the filter holder anymore, but I still rely on the funnel for decanting grounds into the chamber without spilling.(It would be nice if CCB also stocked the funnel!)

The Aeropress was quick and easy to use, I definitely recommend:) Even though it will eventually be solely used during camping and travel, my partner and I have been using it for about two weeks now since we just bought a home and most of our appliances (and everything else considering we're trying to be minimalistic right now) are in a storage unit. This has been honestly the perfect thing for a simple and quick coffee. While you normally only get a single serving of coffee each use in their standard size, we get plenty of coffee for the two of us per serving, and it’s easy to travel with and quick to use. It's simple to use: add in your coffee beans/grounds, pour over some hot water, and then let it sit for a moment to brew while you keep yourself busy (e.g. pack ... MoreThe Aeropress was quick and easy to use, I definitely recommend:) Even though it will eventually be solely used during camping and travel, my partner and I have been using it for about two weeks now since we just bought a home and most of our appliances (and everything else considering we're trying to be minimalistic right now) are in a storage unit. It's easy to carry with you, my partner has taken it to work twice for his daily second dose of coffee so he doesn't have to share a coffee pot with his associates, and the flavor results are great (for both of us haha). I've been using two filters at a time lately, I can tell a slight difference, but my partner claims that it's smoother and tastes richer, but to each their own:). Clean-up is fast, it comes with filters (which are also inexpensive when you do have to buy more), and it also comes with a recipe sheet. Despite the reimbursement opportunity that I did receive, I was pleasantly surprised by the quality and efficiency of the product. I genuinely believed I was going to have to return it because it wouldn't work or wouldn't meet quality expectations, or even that it would never get used. I was proven wrong, and I'm not even upset about it. Hope this helps everyone:) I received product reimbursement for my honest review.

Unpacking the Aeropress Coffee Maker from its box, one thing becomes immediately apparent: this gadget exudes minimalistic charm. With its plastic cylindrical shape, it looks nothing like the typical behemoths you often find on kitchen countertops. It's compact, lightweight, and has an aesthetic appeal of its own.Using the Aeropress is child's play. You insert a paper filter into the detachable plastic cap, add your coffee grounds, pour in hot water, stir, and press. In a matter of minutes, you've got yourself a smooth, rich cup of joe. This simplicity is a major draw for the Aeropress, especially for those who want to avoid the complexity and fuss that often comes with brewing the perfect cup of coffee. The brew it produces is genuinely impressive. This simplicity is a major draw for the Aeropress, especially for those who want to avoid the complexity and fuss that often comes with brewing the perfect cup of coffee. The brew it produces is genuinely impressive. You'll notice less bitterness and acidity compared to traditional drip coffee makers, which is a big plus for those with a sensitive stomach. But let's talk about the elephant in the room: the price. Yes, the Aeropress is more expensive than most manual coffee makers. Is it worth it? That really depends on what you're looking for. For coffee enthusiasts who value simplicity, portability, and enjoy brewing coffee almost as much as drinking it, the Aeropress may well be worth the extra pennies. The Aeropress also comes with a few extra accessories such as a stirrer, a scoop, and a bunch of paper filters. While these additions are appreciated, they do add to the overall cost of the product, which may deter some people. On the downside, the Aeropress is predominantly made of plastic, which some may feel doesn't justify its price tag. Furthermore, its single-cup brewing capability may not be the best fit for families or large gatherings where multiple cups of coffee are required at once.In conclusion, the Aeropress Coffee Maker is a solid product. It's simple, produces a great cup of coffee, and is compact enough to take camping or on a road trip. However, the price is a significant consideration. If you're looking for an affordable, straightforward, no-frills coffee maker, you might want to explore other options. But if you're willing to pay a bit more for a unique brewing experience and the convenience it brings, then the Aeropress may just be the gadget for you.I would also suggest getting the metal mesh filter. It works better and you don’t have to use the paper filters which are over priced.
The brew from my AeroPress is the smoothest, tastiest coffee I have ever had the pleasure of drinking. I had my first cup of coffee about sixty-five years ago. Since then the relationship has been an off and on sort of affair. I have always been looking for that coffee that tastes like coffee smells. Well, that search is over at last. AeroPress and fresh roasted beans ground fine for each cup. Fine grind prevents too much water from getting through the filter before stirring and placing the plunger. I infuse for two minutes but that is an individual option. The plunge completes the brew. Pop the grounds. Rinse the press. I add a dollop of cream to my coffee (a sixty-five year habit) but drink it how you please. The AeroPress is without a doubt the finest coffee maker in the world!
I've only used it a few times so far, so my sample size is small, but I've made two primary observations (both of which experienced Aeropressers likely already know):1. The "normal" grind widely sold commercially is too coarse to work well with the standard cap and paper filter. There is too much drip through, especially for cold brew. After stirring for 60 seconds, more than 2/3 of the water had already dripped into the cup, which resulted in a very weak brew. Seems I could prevent this with a finer grind, but who's got time for that? I'm going to try the flow control cap.2. The operation was SUPER easy and convenient! It was everything I had hoped it'd be as far as being able to quickly brew a quality cup of my favorite ground coffees without the time, labor, ... MoreI've only used it a few times so far, so my sample size is small, but I've made two primary observations (both of which experienced Aeropressers likely already know):1. Eases of use very easy to use can customize how you do it not everyone has the same water coffee bean ratio etc. Always very easy to make a nice amazing high quality cup of coffee. I own multiple AeroPresses and have used them for years. The only noticeable issue on the original is the natural wear and tear of the plunger. This is redeemable! With the new clear version, the numbers have faded away after just a month or so of use! More annoyingly, the cap is almost impossible to remove from this material once it’s heated and slightly expanded. I rarely had issue with this on the Original and Go versions. The black plastic material is naturally softer and makes removing the heated cap easier.I cannot say I would recommend the clear version over the original. Seeing inside, it’s cool the first time, but not worth the subsequent aesthetic and functional annoyances.
I have used a French press for years. I stumbled across the AeroPress and decided to take a chance and see how if I liked the taste of the coffee. I wasn't disappointed and I am now using half the coffee because it brews a stronger coffee. With that being the case, I will pay for the Aeropress in 6 months or less. What I also like is the way you remove the grinds from the main body. You pull up the plunger, unscrew the bottom cap, and then push it out into your compost bucket. Rinse the bottom and the column and hang it in the optional hanger. Another thing I like is no more coffee grinds down the drain in the septic system. I liked it so much I bought the portable Aeropress Go for my sister. She likes to have a morning coffee while out in the back country but ... MoreI have used a French press for years. I have been making AeroPress® coffee since ~2004 which works out to ~8,000 coffees. I wore out my early clear, translucent version and disliked the nearly opaque brown model. I stumbled onto the new, clear version and was delighted to see it available. When it arrived, I immediately noticed that the piston, cylinder and basket were all thicker than the earlier models I've owned. I weighed each competent and they were all about 10% heavier. The fit and finish are flawless and the plunger seals perfectly. The $10 upgrade was well worth it based on these facts alone. The coffee is the same but it seems that the useful life will exceed my earlier models which cost me less than a penny per brew to use. I am a home roaster and pretty hard to please. I weigh out 0.9oz of beans and hand mill it with a 1Zpresso K-Max set to a fairly fine grind. The new AeroPress cylinder mates beautifully with the grounds basket of the K-Max so no scooper or funnel are required. I heat my water to ~173°F and use the inverted method of brewing. The result for me is a very consistent 15.5oz cuppa after diluting with the remaining kettle water. Note: I generally roast to 10 seconds past the end of first crack but vary depending on the beans. I use Burman Coffee Trader in Madison for my green supply. Cheers!
