This moisturizer is literally the HOLY GRAIL for me. I have terribly sensitive skin and frequent eczema flair ups, especially when I’m stressed and during the wintertime. But for some reason when I moisturize my face with any other face creams that others rave about, I get at least one of these huge oil filled bumps on my face that are so unsightly and all around gross disgusting, even after using toner before moisturizing. This hydrating cream from Aesop is the single best moisturizer I have ever used. I use it in tandem with the A/B toner and the first time I used it, there was an immediate and noticeable difference in my skin - less discoloration, much more soft and supple, and NO gross oil filled acne or dry flaking at all. Either way, that natural scent doesn’t last too long so don’t let that dissuade you. If you have problem skin, or even if you don’t and just want the best freakin face cream there ever was, run, don’t walk, to your nearest Aesop store. You can thank me later. I promise you, you’ll definitely want to.

A good lightweight cream

I received a sample of this cream and was pleasantly surprised. I am a fan of Aesop products but sometimes find the scents a little overpowering. The scent here was subtle and pleasing. The consistency of the cream was smooth and lightweight. It went onto my skin easily and absorbed well. My make-up also went on nicely over it. I would certainly consider this as a day cream in the transitional months from winter into Spring. My skin has a tendency towards dryness in winter so I wonder whether I would need a richer cream for the colder months. That said, I only had a sample so couldn’t try it for longer. It would also be a lovely cream for the summer months.

Got this cream when I need something more hydrating and also to compensate the moisture loss while in the heating room all day, during colder months.Testure of the cream is thick, but not very oily. I applied it after toner & serum, then a little on where it needs to hydrate. The cream absorb well into my skin, I will suggest use it at night as a richer moisturiser.A little goes a long way. It suit dry skin where indoor with heaters.

Great for dry skin, not for sensitive skin
15 January 2021

I agree with other reviewers that this is really rich, so great for dehydrated, dry skin (or as an occasional leave on mask). You need the tiniest amount for your face and neck. I received a sample of this and used it over 3 nights. It felt really nourishing and my skin was lovely and hydrated the next day. However, although I didn't have an immediate reaction to this cream, I can be sensitive to fragrance (including those from essential oils), so would not use this long term, as constant use could cause a reaction. It has 2 fragrance oils that I can see from the ingredients list - sandalwood and rosemary. Whilst I can understand the sandalwood for some of it's therapeutic properties, I (personally) don't see the benefit of putting such a high VOC oil as rosemary ... MoreI agree with other reviewers that this is really rich, so great for dehydrated, dry skin (or as an occasional leave on mask). It's such a shame, as the rest of the ingredients in this cream are amazing.

Great product, definitely value for money
1 January 2023

I have been using Aesop Facial Hydrating Cream for a while now and I can't see myself going back to my old cream. My skin feels softer, healthier and more supple. I really like the way it smells too. It's not heavy but has a nice light fragrance to it. I feel like my skin has been rejuvenated in the past few months since I changed my skincare routine and this cream helps

My favourite Aesop product
2 February 2023

I love Aesop products and this is by far my favourite moisturiser. I use it over their parsley seed serum. I have aging skin, wear little makeup and like a natural look and feel. This moisturiser is light substantial at the same time if that makes sense, and it feels divine.!

Not particularly impressive...
26 April 2021

I am looking for a new everyday moisturiser so I keep picking out the moisturiser samples with my SpaceNK orders. I have to say, I didn’t love this product; the consistency is quite thick, almost like a thick body cream, so perhaps it could be nice and hydrating in winter months. The scent wasn’t particularly luxurious or spa-like, so if you like your products relatively scent-free, you’ll enjoy this one. Skin felt moisturised, but the product didn’t really do anything more for my skin so on that basis, I wouldn’t re-purchase.

Oh My Gosh !
1 January 2023

I started using this and it's been a journey. I never knew how thirsty my skin was! My complexion has changed dramatically and I hardly ever get dry patches anymore. The price is also great because you only need to use a bit. In addition, the container is really hygienic because of the pump dispenser. Aesop Facial Hydrating Cream is one of best facial moisturizers out there!

Unsure...
24 April 2021

I’m unsure about this one but overall I don’t think it’s for me... I’m generally a big fan of this brand and regularly use Aesop hand wash and hand cream so I was pleased to receive a sample of this facial cream. It’s an odd texture, very thick and almost paste like but it rubs in quite well so it doesn’t feel too rich. The scent is unusual. I can’t quite make my mind up whether I can tolerate it or whether I really dislike it. Scent is a very personal thing but I can’t really find words to compare this one to. I’d suggest getting a sample to see if you like it or not before purchasing. The cream does its job ok but doesn’t seem that special really and I'm not sure it is worth the money.
