Just to confirm what I’m saying is I’ve not seen this fact written down anywhere but rather it is my personal experience with using the technology in these headphones.However, to be serious about this product I can report that they are in fact very good at what they do, which is produce a good midrange sound of what you’re listening to. The down side to the technology in the Aftershokz is that they cannot give a good bass, if that’s your thing look else where. However, if your like me and listen all most exclusively to audio books or Radio 4/Ex they are quite brilliant and can’t be bettered. Additionally, as I spend the day walking my dogs around my rural Tipperary home I can now enjoy a good audio book or broadcast and also be fully aware of what’s around me due to the ‘open ear’ aspect of these headphones and remain relatively safe.In closing the only person that might want to think about buying these headphones are the more rotund amongst us, like I use to be. For me there really is a dramatic difference to the positive with the before and after sound production following a large weight reduction.For anyone else that is of a more regular weight get these headphones and enjoy. The only thing to watch out for is if you have them up at full volume there is a slight tickle where the headset touch the temple from the ‘thumper’ but with the slightest adjustment downward in volume it will remove this sensation. Back in April 2023, my husband bought me a set of the OpenRun Mini's. I've since gone through 5 pairs of the OpenRun headsets and NONE worked. They all had a scratchy sound w/music, or "skipped" dialogue. The person on the other end of the calls couldn't hear me. Music always cuts out. GPS navigation was often missed because parts weren't heard through the headset. Customer "Happiness Team" worked with me to resolve the issue since it was covered under the warranty. After the 1st two sets, I was told that it was probably not compatible with my phone. After sending back the 2nd set, I requested a refund and was told I was past the 45 days...and they sent me ANOTHER set (even after telling me it wasn't compatible??) I still promote bone conduction headsets for situational awareness.I promote this brand to runners, police officers, dog trainers, audiologists, teenagers, nature enthusiasts, hikers, bikers, ANYONE! But, I SINCERELY PLEAD that "SHOKZ" go back to the drawing board and realize what made YOUR BRAND (AFTERSHOKZ) the leader in the industry.Your packaging alone weighs MORE than your headset. You used to provide the carrying case and noise canceling earbuds. Now, nothing. Even your "Customer Happiness Team" isn't that. (I mean YOU, SAM! Hang up on a me "because you have other customers to help"? Nice. I won't say the other thing you also said that contradicts your website.)My point is, The products (I'm hoping) are great. I'm looking into trying the new Open Fit version. Hopefully those will be "compatible" with my mobile phone. At least I know I can use a normal charger with it. That's a little absurd.My old overused Aftershokz Trekz Air still works better even while missing the silicone cover. I'll go see how the OpenFit "feel" in store, if they let me. And go from there. If you have tried to use this for video conferencing and been greeted with a perpetual beep. You are not along. This is a known issue with some headphone manufactures including Shokz. Once you google the problem you see hundred of posts, websites, and other documentation on the issue. Including responses from Shokz that it is not their fault. Which is completely false. Jabra is a third party headphone manufacture and they absolutely don't have this issue. When i contacted Shokz they were are and openly admitted they get lots and lots of calls about it.... yet it is not included on the FAQ? They have no fix cause they are putting their head in the sand and say it is not their fault.... Shokz, it is your fault and you can absolutely fix it. These are nice headphones, but I’m unsure I’d recommend them to others.I bought them for exercise, and when running, the wind noise in my ears is quite loud. A lawnmower or car will drown out the music until they are 50-100 meters away. Volume needs to be cranked up quite a bit (about 2/3) to achieve the equivalent low volume of my old Anker earbuds. I also haven’t found a comfortable position for the rigid band when weightlifting.These headphones excel when paired with 33db earplugs when mowing the yard or other loud equipment. Bass response is impressive when wearing earplugs, which is a welcome change from the flat sound without plugs. My fiance and I purchased them in Japan, where we live, but I am from the US and she is from the PRC. The headphones can be set to both of our native languages (as well as Korean and the Japanese they came in). The bonus voice enhancement equalizer is a big plus: I enjoy talk radio, she enjoys audio novels.Third: USBC charging. I don't want some special adapter. I have a bunch of USB chargers and cables from other devices; specifically my phone is USBC as well and her next one probably will be too, given Apple's loss in the EU. It's convenient and the level of waterproofing is sufficient: I do not intend to take the headphones for a bath or drop them in a river. If I did, I'd splurge for the OpenSwim.If there's anything to complain about, it is a very small reduction in audio quality. The range is more than good enough unless you are a bit OCD, which I happen to be. I don't think most people will be able to hear the difference actually, and even though I can hear it, I find the sacrifice well worth it. If I want premium audio quality, I won't be using any kind of headphones to begin with. The OpenMove's quality is superb considering it obstructs nothing while you commute, jog, ride, or whatever else you do while listening or making calls.These are probably the best multitasking-oriented headphones on the market.
I like the way they fit my head and wrap around my ears instead of sitting inside my ear canal causing pain and discomfort. I like the color even though I prefer purple. My headset sounds good on my side although they sometimes have my contact on the other side of the call sounding like an alien to me or the in call volume goes so low during a call that it sounds like I am putting my hand over my mouth to muffle my voice. This is extremely difficult for someone who is hard of hearing, like I am. I absolutely loved my Trex Titanium headset. I owned two of them. I had to discard them as they broke in the same place on each headset. This is why I had to upgrade to the Open Move headset. I've been using these since july 2020, and they are on my head every day for 9hrs+I work in a machine shop, so hearing everything around me is very important. Wearing earplugs all day, they have a earplug function to limit output to keep you aware.They are so light I barely notice them, accidentally almost taken them in the shower a few times.The sound is great, a little lacking in the bass department, but the slight force feedback makes up for that. I had to wait some time for the grey option to be available, but so glad I did.These headphones are so light, comfortable over the ear and the titanium band holds its snug fit.I bought them for when gardening, out walking/running, washing the car etc. Great that you get good sound but at the same time can hear what is going on around (like when walking lanes, I can hear cars approaching). Water resistant, I don't have to worry if it starts to rain.Linking up to my smartphone was really easy. The battery lasts a long time, and a control button advises what level of charge is left. The only problem I am still over coming is getting used to the control buttons, which are very small on each arm.Overall, I am really pleased with these headphones and would recommend.
These are the first pair of bone conduction headphones I have had but after having problems with in ear and over ear headphones I thought I would give them a try. I just wanted something basic so no high fidelity music, just Youtube videos and TV, nor out running, jogging, swimming or cycling. I also wear glasses so was curious how they would go with my glasses frames. I must say I was pleasantly surprised at how good they are and how comfortable with no pressure sensation on the side of my head. For my use I have no issue other than a short learning curve on best way to fit them considering my glasses frames. If not positioned correctly can get a slight vibrating sensation which is not that bad but is easily fixed by fiddling a bit with the position. These were the cheapest model. Quite frankly I don’t know why you would pay more for my sort of usage. Maybe the others clamp better for more energetic applications. The other thing is my wife can talk to me without me having to take off or out the usual style headphones. I would highly recommend.
