This thing unfortunately didnt work. The construction was really flimsy and didnt give a strong or adequate seal between the top cover and the base tray. Even when I tried to adjust it with extra parts added (elastic bands etc) this just didnt work we

I use peanut butter and are catching 7 to 12 every night. much better than single mouse trap especially during mouse plague.

It was simple to use. Put bait in and leave on side wall where you find droppings. it has a hole at the top that they are supposed to crawl in to get the food. Construction reasonable, not flimsy.Nothing really wrong with it, it just didnt catch a mouse. What worked was finding the hole where they/it got in, blocking it, and leaving nothing for them to eat or drink anywhere. Sealed containers no crumbs etc.. then it tried to chew its way out through the rubber flap at the bottom of the door to get out! It preferred to chew rubber than the free food in the trap. Left door slightly open the next night so it could get outside and nothing since! It might work for you but this is my experience with the trap! who knows maybe the Mouse was just smart?!
We had mice in the shed getting into our chook feed. I heard this trap worked well and am not disappointed. Every day there is at least one mouse in it when I check in the morning. I bait it with a spoonful of peanut butter and a handful of sunflower seeds. The only thing I would do different is buy several and have them all set up. I may still buy more yet.
I have purchased the same product before which was made of stronger mesh that makes it a bit sturdier. This one is made exactly the same way but the mesh isn't as strong and is around $6 more than I payed for my other one. I dont catch rat's in them but I can catch up to 18 mice at a time.
Mice had a feed, climbed up the wire, and across the inside of the roof where they squeezed through the downward wire, and exited via the entrance with a full belly! Great if you are a mouse, not so great for your wallet! Needs more design work, like solid roof like the floor, nothing for them to grip hold of then. Would not recommend as is......
This product is made of very flimsy material. The mice did go into the cage but they appear to have just got straight back out. Waste of money
I've used both mouse and rat traps of this type. And had really great success. Usually use Tomcat II rat poison blocks for bait as it has powerful rodent attracting scents. For rat-size traps 2 blocks either end well away from the entrance hole. For mouse-size traps 1 either end as per previous well away from the entrance hole. So they have to enter the "chamber of death" to access the afore-mentioned blocks. Either way even if they escape the trap they will die a horrible death. If they are still alive in the traps I submerge the traps in usually a stainless steel 10 litre bucket. I call it "swimming lessons". Fortunately, or unfortunately, depending on your opinion the rodents never ever qualify for the Australian Rodent Olympics. It's not messy (blood, biting etc) and I think it's relatively humane. If you read accounts of drowning/ near drowning it's almost serene. LOL All the best for your good rodent hunting :)
I love the idea of these. I used to use cages years ago. They do work well. However this particular brand is of poor quality. The mesh is very fine and not strong enough. The cage doesn't fit snugly on the base plate. Mice can squeeze out again. The cage has nothing around the bottom so exposed ends of wire are moving around the bottom. To get it to work I cut lengths of dripper hose with slits along the top to give the cage firmer, stronger feet. This way when you pull the wire handles over the top, the cage is firmly in place. Without the hose the cage is far to loose and not sturdy enough.
