I got this model as a gift for a friend who loves this aircraft, wanted something simple to construct that would look nice as a display model. I did enjoy putting it together and it looked the part. My friend was very pleased with it also.

I had been waiting for some time to purchase this new offering from Academy at a good price, and here it is with a great reduction on price. But don't let that fool you into thinking this isn't a good kit, it is a superb kit.Single piece hull, well detailed super structure with port holes, doors, pipe work and deck structures. Even the smallest parts are moulded in plastic with the same detail and accuracy as etched brass or turned aluminium, deck machine guns are moulded perfectly with separate armour covers and mountings.This kit scores over the Trumpeter offering in both price and accuracy, the bug difference being the accurate stern. I have done many kits, spending vast amounts of money to make a top spec product. This is an incredible kit for the money. Use the saved cash to get the Mk 1 Design wooden deck and photo etch bundle and this kit becomes a stellar offering. Even the packaging will impress you. This Academy kit equals or out performs Trumpeter and Tamiya kits I have bought previously.
This kit is fantastic for young people. My 4 year old was able to complete the kit with a little help following the directions. The plastic is heavy duty so your child can play with the model when they complete it. The construction is similar to Lego, but simpler.Highly recommended.
Great intro kit for children as they can have a brilliant model without the risks of glue and paints that can be built nicely within their attention span. One happy 5 year old grandson.
Quite pleased with how the completed EF2000 model looks. The pieces go together tightly and seamlessly, as intended.The single thing I do not like is how the fuel tanks / missiles attach to the airplane, by way of two ugly protruding studs, ruining the profile of the wings.I suggest that Airfix consider making "dogfight" loadout models with no weapons / fuel attachments, for a much cleaner look and lower piece count.
Brilliant idea in modelling to get the kids started well made looks good
Very nice concept but let down by the fact that the upper rear fuselage (on which the tail fin sits) will not under ANY circumstance clip into place. (Notwithstanding various suggestions on the web.) We are currently awaiting a reply from customer services as to how to resolve this, eg. do we need to file bits off and resort to glue?
Brilliant design and construction. Great model all around in the Lego Tradition but Airfix Heritage! A+
