Disappointed that the copper color is much darker than the photo. It’s really brown. Other than that the quality of the materials is excellent. You can really hear the suction and tightness of the seal. If it came in a golden tone or white with gold Peet lettering I’d be interested.

Airscape canisters are the best way—in every way—to store beans. Very happy French Press Coffee brought Airscape to my attention. The vacuum canister greatly improved the freshness of my bean supply during the duration of consumption. It so surpasses the glass jar on the counter.

More importantly, since I use a high end conical burr grinder, it keep my Major Dickason's Blend beans fresh and maximizes the flavor and my enjoyment of my daily coffee! This is a great product to protect and preserve Peet's real great product.Well worth the cost and I highly recommend!

I found the perfect canister for storing my tea and coffee. This canister is ideal for tea since it cannot be stored in glass for a long time as it may lose its flavor over time. The canister is made of durable stainless steel and features an Airscape that forces the air out, which helps to extend the lifespan of its contents.
I brought two of these and they are excellent. One for caffeinated and one for decaffeinated coffee beans. My Peets coffee beans have never stayed so fresh. They are easy to use and are very well made. Every time I open them up the smell of fresh beans wafts through the air. I can see how you can use this container to preserve the freshness of many other items. They are a little pricey but well worth it.
I like the fact that as you push the inner lid down the canister the air comes out. It is like vacuum packed coffee to keep it fresh. When you pull up the inner lid to get your coffee you can smell the wonderful coffee smell.
This is more than just a nice container for storing coffee. The top lid alone would put it on par with competing jars. But the internal plunger is what expels the air. It goes in and pushes the lid down, and has a handle for pulling it back up. What's not obvious, or even necessary to know, is that lifting the handle up opens an air channel so that the lid can be lifted, and folding the handle down seals it after pushing things down when you close it. So even without thinking about it. you are creating an airtight seal, and opening it when you need to. It just works.
How airtight is this container? Well, I overfilled mine slightly when it first arrived. Because there was too much coffee, I could get the inner lid all the way down, but there was not clearance for the clear outer lid. Didn't matter. I couldn't smell a whiff of the coffee. It sealed the odors in better than the ziploc back I had been using. It's excellent. I would recommend this to anyone.
We ordered a couple of these for our office and they are fantastic. The inner seal lid creates a vacuum seal and keeps the beans fresh and is very easy to use. The inner seal is solid and satisfying to use.
I bought the bronze canister to store coffee beans. What a delight to find this container has a black push down inner lid that draws the air out and a clear outer lid that goes on top of the container. I open both lids when I need to pour out some beans to grind and then brew. It holds more than a pound of beans. There are complaints that coffee grounds spill when you pull up on the inner lid. I have only been using it to store whole beans but I can see how grounds can spill from the suction when the lid is pulled up. It might be a good idea to put the canister on top of a large dinner plate to capture loose grounds and avoid wastage.
