AKG CK99L Clip-on Lavalier Microphone

It's a decent sounding mic. Pretty nice when it comes to lavalieres. My only complaint is why didn't AKG give this mic the full treatment? It comes packaged in a bland white box with the mic, a pop filter, the clip, and manual wrapped in bubble wrap. No stickers, no warranty card . . . kind of weird.Meanwhile the AKG C417L which is $50 less comes in nice retail packaging, with a case, a better lavaliere clip (that makes it easier to do the loop with the cord), and other niceties. I don't get why AKG didn't do that for this mic.Sound-wise this gets 5 stars, especially for the price. But only 3 stars for cutting corners on the box, not as nice of a clip as the C417, and especially not having a pouch/case included.

DJ City microphone order

The micro phone is what I needed. The Oder processing could have been quicker as I ordered on a Tuesday with the order only processed two days later then only receiving the product Friday the follow week even though I paid for 3-5 day express delivery.

Glad to have a new mic

I had two sets of the mic wireless sets but the actually mics had got damaged or lost - so it was great to be able to get a new mic rather than the whole set. The service was very prompt - delivered to London within 2 days or ordering and worked perfectly and reasonably pricedmany thanks

Good microphone

I use to record video interviews, with AKG wireless system. It's very sensitive and capture very well the voice in the interview. You have to place well the microphone to get a better sound. You have to try a little before having a better sound.

Noisy and poor frequency response

This microphone is very susceptible to handling noise from clothing, and breath sounds when the speaker looks down and breathes out of their nose. A windscreen helps somewhat with the breath sounds, but these don't stay on the microphone very well and we keep losing them. It also has poor frequency response that is difficult to compensate for. In our church system, we need a 15-band EQ for the channel just to make the speaker's voice sound natural. We don't have this problem with other mics. I will be replacing it with a Shure or Countryman as soon as we can afford it. On the plus side, it's a fairly sturdy unit that has lasted a couple years now without incident.

Perfect item

Our church purchased this to replace the earpiece we had on an older model (PT 2000) cordless unit and it works perfectly with it!! The quality is great so far. Well pleased with this item.
