I used low heat at first & then gradually went up to just shy of medium. That worked well to cook the meat. When I washed the pot, however, it wouldn’t come completely clean. I used the barkeepers friend to wash the stubborn spots, but that didn’t work. It says dishwasher safe, so I tried that. Rough food spots still there. This was a very expensive pot! I expected to be able to clean it well. So I’m disappointed that it’s not completely clean.

We love our All-Clad D-5 8qt Stock Pot! We bought the All-Clad D-3 10 piece Brushed Stainless Curated set and had to finish our set with this D-5 8qt because All-Clad did not make a Brushed Stainless in the D-3. This works great on our new Bosch induction stovetop! Would not buy anything else for induction cooking! This cleans up beautifully and is a show piece! Worth the money.

I needed to replace a 40+ year old pot. Decided to replace it with All-Clad since we have other All-Clad cookware that’s over 20 years old and still perfect. We’ve only had this new pot for a few months but it’s absolutely perfect for cooking pasta and soups. I love it.

This is my 4th 4ish quart type pot. I had 2 Circulon 3.5 qt 2 handle soup pots. Both non-stick failed in 5-10 years. I had the BedBathBeyond (made by All Clad) non-stick. That was better, but it too got scratched and had to be tossed. The glass lid though fits perfectly, so I use that more often on top of the stove, but the metal handle in the oven. I decided that that both my 25+ year old all clad LTD 6qt dutch oven and 3qt long handle covered saute pan look BRAND NEW. I would stop messing around with other stuff. All-Clad All-The-Time. Non-stick only gets to be fry pans in my house now.
We have been using ALL-CLAD pots and skillets for years. They conduct heat nicely, clean easily, and last forever. (But not their non-stick.). This pot has improved handles, pours better, and as with all ALL-CLAD, is beautifully crafted. We would have given this pot 10 stars if it is more true to size - it says it is a 4-quart pot, but it does not hold 4 quarts of water. If you have one of these pots, try it yourself.
I received my 4 quart soup pot. It’s the perfect size for soups and spaghetti sauce and many other recipes, Made beef barley soup and the heat was evenly distributed and I was able to cook it at a medium low heat with wonderful results. I also love the side handles. My next purchase will be the 6 quart pot. Thank you for a great product.
This was purchased to replace another brand of 4 qt pot we had for many years. We’re a small family of three and use this pot for soup and pasta. Performance is great and it looks beautiful on our open shelves. I’m building an All-clad set, replacing all our old pots which were of much lesser quality. We’re fans of the d5 so far and especially appreciate the generous handles on the pots and lids. Wish I’d made the investment sooner, but happy now! Minus one star because on the inside of the pot, the bottom became discolored after using once or twice. This is not visible from the outside, and I’m going to call All-Clad to enquire if this is normal.
The finish is perfect and it is easy to clean. I like boiling pasta in this shape of a 8 quart pan better than past pots I have owned. The lid is easy to use to drain water from pot and not lose the contents. The big handles are very useful as well. The cost was higher than I expected but I intend to slowly build up to get the whole set due to the cooking and convenience qualities of this kitchen item.
I am so happy I bought the "All-Clad ® d5 ® Brushed Stainless Steel 4 qt. Soup Pot with Lid". It is the perfect size for soups, boiling potatoes and making pasta. It is sturdy without being to heavy and I love the huge handles to easily move it around! Overall I would recommend it to anyone looking for a pot that is not too big for everyday use but large enough to actually get some cooking done.
I will never forget the first time I used this stockpot: I had to make a huge batch of soup for a church luncheon. I was used to stockpots that heated well enough at the very bottom, but hardly carried any heat up the sides. This All-Clad completely stunned me: heat transferred all the way through and around the entire pot, so that all its contents heated evenly and thoroughly! It made all the difference for such a large batch of soup — no more perpetually stirring for hours just to get the ingredients at all heated! The soup turned out gorgeously, and everyone was pleased with the result. I was immediately convinced that this is the only sane way to make soup. The price is daunting, but, I assure you, it’s worth every penny, for sheer satisfaction and peace of mind!
