A decent set of cookware with some room for improvement. Pots and lids are stamped which is fine but I would have expected the edges to be better polished. Some edges are very sharp particularly on the lids. The fit of the lids is also a bit off. There is some wobble as they are not 100% flat. The handles are a source of controversy. I can see why they are designed as they are to maximise the surface area and ensure the handle stays cool. This works but at a great expense to comfort. After some trial and error I believe there is a technique to using them a little more comfortably. Cooking performance is superb but it is a shame that All Clad seems to let themselves down on the details.

I was sold on All Clad when I attended a training class on the cookware while working retail. One point the presenter made was how often you have to replace your cookware and the handles always falling off or burning up? He said this cookware would last me a lifetime and I could pass it on for this is how sturdy it is... I looked back over the years and computed just how much money I had spent on cookware and it was much more than the 10 piece set I initiately purchased. I have since added additional pots and pans when I catch a sale.I love my AllClad. I know I have made the right choice when I see it being used by the Iron Chefs who own restaurants and have won the James Beard awards.

Every time I go into a Macy's store I go to cookware and drool at these pans. After more than a year of coveting, I first purchased the 2 quart Saucier because I thought that would be the most useful size and shape. Despite the cost, I didn't regret it and came back for more. These are HEAVY. The conduct and hold heat so well it's actually hard for me to get my gas range low enough to simmer something. They clean up easily.Frying an Egg.. I'll use my non-stick skillet for that... but I like poached and 3 minute eggs better anyway. My only complaint about this set is you get an 8qt saucepan and a 2qt saucepan but no 4qt saucepan but get two other pans which are skillets/saute pan but still shallow like a frying pan. That leaves you without one of the most useable ... MoreEvery time I go into a Macy's store I go to cookware and drool at these pans. I bought this set back in 2003, and I still cook with it today. They hold up well. I only wish it had a larger sauce pan. Guess I need a saucier since I miss the 4 quart one I had previously. I do enjoy the small sauce pan for small batches of soup, and the 3 quart sauté is too wide to use as a saucier in my opinion. Sets are nice, but I can see the advantages of buying piece by piece based upon usage as recommended by America's Test Kitchen.
My husband is a chef who can "cook in anything." Good for him, but I am not. We had been using Calphalon non-stick pans for the last few years (they were on sale at the time) and as everyone knows, they don't last very long. So I vowed that that would be the last time I ever use cheap non-stick cookware. It took some convincing but I finally got my husband to agree to splurging on "the last set of pans we'll ever buy" (like I said, it took some convincing). I couldn't be more happy with my purchase. I've cooked fish, chicken, pancakes and bacon in this pan and it's all cooking to perfection. We have a glass top stove and I find the heat to be uneven and less-controllable as compared to a gas range. But with this new pan, I don't notice hot and cold spots in the pan ... It's like the pan makes up for the glass top inadequacies. I am in love with this pan!
It's shape and size allow for stable temp cooking on small batches and high heat. It small base to volume ratio prevent burnt stews. its a useful shape and it also allows baking bread. The copper makes the temperature to mostly uniformed from what I can tell and that can make this a one pot cooking tool i.e. you don't need a skillet.
This cookware set is amazing! The copper-core sure helps keep the heat spread evenly. Each piece is well made. We gifted this set to our daughter when she moved into her first apartment and she loves it. Good purchase!
Beautiful. Arrived on time and I just cooked eggs with olive oil on the 10 inch skillet. I preheated the pan to prevent sticking, then poured olive oil and eggs. They cooked evenly!!! My old sauté pan would just burn in the center. Clean up is easy, not as easy as nonstick but I don't want cancer. Totally worth the extra effort, which is not much effort really. Very happy with them!
A work of art! This is a professional-quality pot that is so beautifully designed that I keep it on my stovetop to admire when it's not at work. It's a good weight even when filled with food. Substantial, but moves easily from stove top to oven. Remarkably, after cooking a pot roast by browning on stove top and slow cooking in oven, clean up is truly easy. Would I buy it again? Yes!!!
I have owned All-Clad since 1993 and my original set has been worked hard, but still looks new! I bought this 7 piece Copper Core set as a wedding gift for a young couple that also loves to cook and appreciate quality. I started with these seven pieces and believe this is a great starter set. The copper core is the best conductor of heat and you don't get hot spots. The stainless steel doesn't react to acidic foods and it makes clean up and maintenance so much easier. And for those cost-conscious consumers, do you realize this cookware will last a lifetime. Even if you average the cost over 30 years, it's less than $27 a year. That is amazing!
