We bought the All-Clad LTD set with the dark colored exterior about 20 years ago. The inside is still shiny as can be. Never once have we had trouble with food sticking, or with cleaning it. We use baking powder with a tad bit of water and make a paste, to clean the bottom, then we wash with dish soap. In the beginning we did not find the 2qt pot useful. The sides were too high for our liking, so we traded for a 7" fry pan, a 1qt sauce pan with rounded sides, and a small 1qt pot. Our set also came with the nonstick All-Clad frying pan, which I had to use the warranty on twice, and gave up the third time. I wish I could exchange for regular stainless steel. The food seems to get stuck in the texture of the non-stick material and make the whole cooking surface smooth, ... Overall, this was the best money I ever spent. We very much still enjoy using the cookware. The outside of the pans are stained and have build up from the fire, but I have been doing some research and am going to try something around Thanksgiving. I will let you know if I can get the stains and build up off.

I’d been interested in upgrading my cookware for a while and had researched several brands. This set was on sale and actually is a bit larger than what I was looking at purchasing. It conducts heat beautifully. I did take the time to watch several videos on cooking with stainless steel and I now do not have a problem with food sticking. Do some research! You’ll love your stainless much more if you learn a few tricks. I gave away all my old cookware.

We recently got an induction oven and had to get rid of our anodized non-stick cookware as a result. After much research, I decided to get this All-Clad D5 set. I was worried about not having a non-stick set, so I did some homework on All-Clad's website. They have articles and videos about cooking with stainless. The videos are easy to digest and teach you some fundamentals. I have now cooked all kinds of things in my new cookware and I am extremely happy! As long as you heat the pan/pot before adding anything to it, nothing sticks!I had 1 stubborn dish (salmon with the skin on) that left some residue on the pot when I was done. All I had to do was put some water in the pot, heat it up until it was boiling, and everything just came off easily. No scrubbing ... Maybe I’ll update my review in the future. But as of now, I’m hot off the stove with my disappointment. I ordered these D5 brushed brand new pots and guess what I received?’ Used and mixed-matched pots! Not even all of them were All-clad. Like there was no quality check or anything. Don’t know if the warehouse folks replaced the products with their used pots and pans but I’m so disappointed! The box was sealed and looked brand new but opened it thinking I get to use my new pots to cook today and NO! Can’t use them and can’t cook! Customer service said they will send a new shipment so I’ll wait to see what surprise is coming next. I was looking forward to using these pots and pans too. Can’t upload pictures…I’m so disappointed Macy's! Do better!
This set was displayed nicely at Williams Sonoma so we could see the pieces and touch and feel the quality. Very strong, sturdy stainless steel and one key factor in selecting these types of pots is that they are better off having flat handles versus rounded handles for ease of handling. This set does not disappoint. A+Williams Sonoma also had a nice combination of different sized pots compared to other retailers selling the same set.
Been using consistently for the past few weeks. Heats up quickly and distributes the heat far better than our previous enamel-coated set. My concern was cooking eggs because I had heard stainless steel was nonstick and gave eggs trouble. I took the advice of others and got the pan hot and added oil. No problem at all with eggs or anything else. Incredibly sturdy set, too, and much heavier than my previous enamel set, though not as heavy as cast iron. The polished steel is beautiful. My favorite thing about this set is how quickly and evenly everything cooks. I’ve had to adjust to make sure I don’t overcook or burn things.
Finally updated an old off-brand stainless pan set purchased 20 years ago. They served us pretty well, but they were worn out and starting to breakdown. The All-Clad pans were a big upgrade! The details make a world of difference. The curved rims and longer handles are a marked improvement over my old pans. My husband and I both cook regularly and have really enjoyed using the new pans. We had thought we would slowly upgrade pieces as needed because we hadn’t seen a set that met our needs until I found this one. The combination of sizes has been excellent. We did already have an 3-qt saucepan from this same All-Clad line and it compliments this set perfectly. All in all, we are extremely happy with this purchase and feel like it is a real value for the money. Would ... MoreFinally updated an old off-brand stainless pan set purchased 20 years ago. We purchased these to replace an old All Clad set that had developed sharp edges on a couple of the pans. Overall, these are high quality but there are a few differences. The lids on the new set seems to weigh a little less than the older ones, but do work well. The thing that bothers both my husband and I is the long handle on one side of the 4 quart pan. Its in the way on the stove and challenging to drain cooked pasta into the stainer in the sink because it hits the side. The pot has to be lined up perfectly or food goes down the drain if the handle is bumped. We much prefer the old version with 2 little handles- like the current large soup pot. Wonder if the person who designed this does any cooking because we can't figure out any advantage.
I was very disappointed in this set. They were big flaws for such a brand name cookware. It was not worth the money, in my opinion. I wish I was able to load the pictures to show you.The smallest pan has a tiny little dimple after I soaked and washed it like I normally do for other pots/pans. I own a Cuisinart cookware set for almost 18 years and after all the washings they still look fine, no dimple or hole formed. The stock pot has a big flaw on the handle. It looks as if the handle was not put in correctly. There was still a little gap between the handle and the pot. Over all I wouldn't recommend this set, unfortunately.
I will not recommend All-Clad anything. I invested in this set, thinking that these pots and pans are durable and long-lasting according to their product description. WRONG. After only using the small frying pan for 4 times, the pan is discolored, and white patches appeared everywhere, and the bottom of the pan on the outside has a weird black spot and they do not wash away. I only used medium heat and Seventh Generation's dish soap and handwash, even though they advertise these are dishwasher safe and oven safe for up to 600 F, but no, when you read the warranty details, you are only supposed to use low to medium heat and hand wash only. It is false advertising and completely dishonest. They do not cover any of these ugly defects that happen during normal use in ... MoreI will not recommend All-Clad anything. It is false advertising and completely dishonest. They do not cover any of these ugly defects that happen during normal use in warranty. I feel heartbroken and ripped off. There was no warning or instruction on the package to say the only handwash with mild soap, only use low to medium heat, there will be discoloration that will not be covered in the warranty, etc. I have never had this kind of bad reaction on the stainless steel products in normal use. I wish I had never purchased All-Clad, and their limited "lifetime" warranty excludes all of these weaknesses. I feel sick to my stomach looking at the practically brand new pan that is permanently disfigured, and all other pieces that I have yet to use that I know now that practically useless since you have to treat them like fragile objects that can be permanently disfigured after a couple of normal use.
