A company that doesn't stand by it's products - that's what Allclad is!I purchased a 10 inche Allclad D5 pan after searching for different non stick products. I wanted to buy a product made in the USA. I love the pan but am completely dissatisfied with the durability of it. I received 2 prior Allclad D5 pans from Williams Sonoma that seemed to be defective – I noticed imperfections on the coating surface. When the third pan arrived – it also had some slight imperfections – I decided to keep the pan and hope for the best.I have the pan for about 21 months and have been very careful to not touch the pan with any metal utensils or to clean the pan with any abrasive cleaning solutions. The pan at this point looks very beat up and in my view for the price of the pan ... MoreA company that doesn't stand by it's products - that's what Allclad is!I purchased a 10 inche Allclad D5 pan after searching for different non stick products. They were quick to tell me that this is not a manufacturing defect and that the problem is mine in terms of how I used the product. I imagine that this is the standard line that they tell anyone trying to invoke their warranty.I rarely write reviews of this nature, but I felt compelled to write it to WARN YOU and to THINK TWICE about buying this product especially if you plan to use it regularly. IT IS NOT DURABLE. I have to say that the company Le Creuset is MUCH MORE CONSUMER ORIENTED and they STAND BY their products in a way much better than ALLCLAD. BUYER BEWARE. Allclad is not very customer oriented in terms of their service. I was not able to get ANY satisfaction from them.

This is our second d5 skillet. The coating on the first one came off after a few years. So it's April 2023 and the second one is peeling off. We usually wash it by hand with nothing abrasive. Easter weekend we ran it through the dishwasher and the coating bubbled up and came off. This expensive product does not hold up well.

The material is top notch and cooks my fish and eggs perfectly. Been using it for a few months now and the nonstick has been holding up with only a few small scratches. I would have given this 5-stars if the pan came with a glass lid. Not including one seems silly to me since frying involves hot spitting oil. Luckily, I have a lid from an old pan that had the same diameter.

I've bought several of these over the years. Because I use Pam spray, which is not recommended and voids the warranty, I buy new ones every year. This year I bought one in August and my egg omelette seemed to stick right away. Usually I get a good 6 months of use before that starts happening. I bought another one a month ago and right out of the box - USING ONLY OLIVE OIL (no Pam spray) - my omelette stuck. I know the way I make my omelette is tough on the pan. First I sauté mushrooms and chopped onions on medium low heat, then I add over a cup of frozen chopped spinach and heat that through. I think this step really messes with the ability of the pan to remain non-stick. Then I add egg whites. Let it firm up and lift the sides to cook more of the runny eggs. You would think a company such as All-Clad would stand behind their product and do the right thing by a customer, but this was not the case for me. I paid high dollar for this All-Clad non-stick skillet. I am an experienced cook with years in the kitchen. And, I don't mind paying for a quality product. But this pan lost its non-stick property in a little over a year, which is unacceptable. I never used it over a medium heat setting. I washed by hand, as I do all of my pans. I did not use scouring pads or harsh chemicals. I only used silicone utensils. When it lost its non-stickiness, I sent it in to be replaced under the All-Clad warranty. That claim was denied due to what they suggested was use on a high heat setting. That claim was denied due to what they suggested was use on a high heat setting. The All-Clad warranty is not worth the paper it is written on. They can claim it was used inappropriately when it was not. Your word against theirs. They win. In my opinion, they do not value current customers or their own reputation for good customer service. Their warranty is now in the trash next to my non-stick pan. I HIGHLY discourage the purchase of the All-Clad non-stick product. I suggest looking into ScanPan and/or Greenpan instead. Less expensive, higher quality.
Wow, this pan is well made. I was getting tired of buying two or more frying pans a year. This pan is of great quality, heavy, heats fast, has beautiful finishes, and distributes heat evenly. I use it to make breakfast, eggs don't stick to it and they cook very quickly. I also used it to make crepes, and it's perfect for that! Crepes burn quickly and if you don't have the right pan that disturbs heat and keeps the heat your crepes do not come out well. This pan exceeds my expectations. I'm looking forward to purchasing their other cookware.
All I can say is WOW. I've used many different pans for a variety of cooking over the years, and out of them all this pan claims the spot of my personal favorite. This pan is great for cooking many different types of food. The flat bottom with the flared sides is one of the many features that makes this pan perfect for making almost anything you can think of. Pouring is simply and doesn't spill like many pans due to the fabulous design. Thanks to the 5-ply alternating stainless steel layers this product heats evenly and is good about preventing annoying hotspots. It's even oven safe up to 500 degrees Fahrenheit! The handle is comfortable and also heat resistant which is a huge plus! The nonstick feature is helpful too. All in all I would rate this item a 10 out of ... MoreAll I can say is WOW. Hate using this pan. The pan is well build but it is VARY hard to keep the pan level when I lift it. The food has to be evenly distributed or it would tilt to one side. The handle is very skinny and it is impossible to control the rotation. When I tried to pour the food out onto a plate, a couple of times it simply flipped upside down sideways, It's a horrible design!
I followed the directions for using the ceramic coating on this pan. At first it was good. I always use silicon utensils with the pan. However, food began to stick on the pan. I used the vinegar and baking soda and most came off. Reseasoned pan. Food continues to stick to the pan. It is harder to clean than a non coated pan.
I love cooking. And I love decent cookware. It took some research and some brick-and-mortar store visits to decide to lay down the money for this pan. I can't be happier with it. All great pieces of cookware, but this pan blows them away. It's heavy, and due to that, it heats incredibly well, evenly, and retains heat. I'm happy with the entire D5 line, but if you want a nonstick pan, this is what you want. I've cooked eggs, cheese, meat, garlic, butter, oils, etc., and this pan looks immaculate after cooking and washing. Nothing sticks to it.Treat it well, and the investment is very much worth it. I have zero regrets purchasing this pan.
