Bought this for our 5 month basenji. I thought that the ball would pop out with a bit of force, as if being thrown. Instead, the ball just rolls out slowly and releases about 10 treats in the process. Our dog was, of course, only interested in the treats and was completely unenthused by the fetch part of the game, although he loves to fetch. The name is misleading because there was no opportunity to "fetch" as the ball rolls about 3 centimeters out of the machine each time.

Not what I was expecting. Doesn’t throw the ball out at all like the photo of the box would suggests. Once the ball is placed, it just rolls out.Wouldn’t recommend.

I don't recommend this product. Once yu put the ball into the slot, it rolls out extremely slow and no further than 30cm. You're better off playing fetch by hand. This can't keep a puppy stimulated whilst at home alone because it's not electric. The ball has to be entered by hand. It's extremely cheap which is great, but not worth spending on when it doesn't roll the ball out fast or far. I'd say the electric one would be better however I haven't tried it.

Didn't work.

Waste of money. The kibbles didn't come out, even though we followed the instructions. And the white flip that is supposed to go down when the ball goes through the machine got stuck in "down" instead of going back up. This just within the first few minutes of introducing the activity toy to my dog.Would been great if the treats came out like its supposed to. Now it was just frustrating for me and the pup. Taking it back to the store tomorrow.

Great idea but its hit and miss if it works.

This is a great idea - when it works! Half the time when you drop the ball in the dont come out! The poor dog (and owner, me) are left looking at it in dismay! I have to pick it up and shake it to get it going again! Dont waste your money.

My dog loves it!
15 May 2018

He mastered it on the first day; hes 8 years old! The treats dont always come out but my dog keeps putting the ball in anyway. He loves his ball more than food! The tennis ball supplied with it is heavier duty than the shop ones and has survived so far. Im very pleased with it and am chuffed that my doogy lioves it too

Not really fit for purpose
12 December 2016

When the dog puts the ball in the top the ball just slowley comes out the front of the box. The mechanism does not push or fling the ball at any speed or disptance, effectifly the ball just trickled out the front. My dog got the concenpt straight away but he was quickly bored as there was no challenge and certainly know concent of playing 'Fetch'. My dog simply put the ball in the top and then picked it up as it slowly came out of the front, the dog didnt even have to move his feet. The box is very well made but in order for the box to be used as a 'Fetch' type mechanism the box needs toat least push or fling the ball.

Rubbish!
23 December 2017

Ok so it's NOT a ball dispenser but that's not what I bought it for. You teach the dog to drop he ball in the top and it and treats roll out of the front. Except treats tend NOT to roll out at all and then occasionally lots come out. So random that it doesn't teach the dog anything but disappointment! Waste of money I'm afraid and adding to the landfill!

half of the dry food didn't fall out. I moved some of it along but, it happened again so, I guess when u notice it is only giving one small dry food treat then push the food along, annoying. This is unfair on your pet cos if they drop the ball in they expect a treat or more than one treat. When closing the lid it wobbles and seems broken to fiddle with to make it fit. Filling the reservoir, some dry food dropped in and then I had to put my hand in which was painful to pull my stuck hand out, scratching skin off. If there is a similar product costing more I'd try that first. My puppy isn't getting it that he needs to drop the ball in. POSITIVES: I love that there are no batteries required nor electrical plug for a puppy to chew. Light weight, small, easy to transport ... Morehalf of the dry food didn't fall out. terrible product
28 April 2022

Save yourself the money and buy a packet of tennis balls rather then this $60 ball and waste of plastic. The ball barley makes it 10cms across the floor and you have to tip the 'toy' horizontal if you want any of the treats to come out. Pup destroyed the ball within the first 10mins of getting it so no longer can return the over priced piece of plastic. Avoid this product unless you have money to burn.
