I purchased this product to connect with my MacBook Pro, it works as intended the USB ports are a little slower than I would have liked (in my tests high 300 mbps/ compared to direct usb-a to thunderbolt 3 port at around 450mbps )which leads me to believe that this is a result of multiple ports all being access simulationously or both powering and data transfer. However, currently being the only Thunderbolt 3 powered bus on the market suits my needs perfectly, when plugged in it does technically "charge" my Mac (while in use) however the my battery power does still decrease (however at a slightly slower rate) Does not emit enough power through the USB ports to power an Apple Superdrive. Occasionally after period being unplugged takes a few seconds for any mice etc. ... MoreI purchased this product to connect with my MacBook Pro, it works as intended the USB ports are a little slower than I would have liked (in my tests high 300 mbps/ compared to direct usb-a to thunderbolt 3 port at around 450mbps )which leads me to believe that this is a result of multiple ports all being access simulationously or both powering and data transfer.
