Have only been using for a few weeks but definitely seeing an improvement in my hair. Less thin and fly away. Getting back to what was normal before I suffered an illness that left me nutritionally deficient. Will keep buying the product

This is designed for men but I am female with thin, fine hair. Since using this shampoo My hair feels thicker, fuller and stronger. The bottle recommends daily washing but as it contains no softening silicones and my hair is very porous, I am using it every other wash which averages Once a week usage. Because if this you will also need to apply a good conditioner when washing. You will notice as soon as you attempt to tangle your wet hair how much more ‘grit’ it has. Overall a brilliant shampoo!

I've tried out many hair loss shampoos, lotions, pills, treatments etc over the last 10 years and seen varying results. Alpecin is one of the better ones but could be even better with a slight tweak to the formula...more about that in a second. Firstly I use by washing my hair once with any shampoo to hand (loreal, garnier etc) - just to get rid of hair gel and sebum build up etc and let Alpecin work better. Then I apply Alpecin and leave it on for 2-3 minutes every morning when in the shower, and wash out. In only a few weeks I feel like my hair is falling much less than before. The one issue I have with it is that it dries out my scalp a lot, causing mild dandruff. I asked around in online forums after coming across other people experiencing same and the consensus is its probably due to the Sodium lauryl Sulfate (SLS) detergent in here. Who knows? I use Divine Herbal's Hair Oil on my scalp at night to counteract any dryness/dandruff and it seems to be re-growing hair on my crown area too. Without SLS this would be a 5-star review. Hope they reformulate this as most companies are phasing that ingredient out nowadays. Other than that its a good product and excellent value for money.

Get on it!

Firstly I never do reviews - this has gotta be my first. I also read and take reviews with a grain of salt as most seem too good to be true. So trust that this review is legit. I purchased the shampoo (double strength) only two weeks ago, after taking propecia and regain for quite few years in an effort to reduce my thinning hair. I’d decided to stop with the alternatives due to money, and what felt like a losing battle. Not long after, I experience at rapid shed, and essentially resigned to the fact I was gonna become a nude nut in the not to distant future. After seeing the adverts for alpecin, then noticing it in the shop for a fraction of the costs of the previous treatments is had, I decided to give it a crack - after all I thought what’s the worst that could ... MoreFirstly I never do reviews - this has gotta be my first. After seeing the adverts for alpecin, then noticing it in the shop for a fraction of the costs of the previous treatments is had, I decided to give it a crack - after all I thought what’s the worst that could happen, my hair won’t grow back but atleast what’s left of it would be squeaky clean. Now comes the best part - after using the shampoo every morning for the last two weeks, I legit have thicker nicer healthy hair. But it’s not just me noticing. My wife and colleagues at work have mentioned it on seperate occasions! I’m astounded but how well it works. And genuinely can say this is not snake oil! If your going bald, and not cool about it then grab some of this! I wouldn’t call it hair in a can but it’s the best thing I’ve used with results in such a short time. I’m feeling good with my new found self, and can’t describe truely enough how good this stuff is. So get on it before it’s too late!

Great product as part of a hair restoring regime
21 June 2017

This is a great product when used with scalp massage and other therapies e.g. if males are being treated for benign enlargement of the prostate, with Dutasteride (a common enough situation), Alpecin shampoo is an excellent additional stimulus for hair regeneration, even where previously there has been almost complete baldness. The regime with Alpecin works best if a hot shower is used to gently open pores on the head, before application of a small quantity of shampoo (not too hot). This should be left for 2-3 minutes, which is easily achieved in showering, by concentrating on other body wash tasks before rinsing out the shampoo. I was almost completely bald from forehead back to behind the crown but now have fine dark hair, which is gradually thickening and this is ... MoreThis is a great product when used with scalp massage and other therapies e.g. if males are being treated for benign enlargement of the prostate, with Dutasteride (a common enough situation), Alpecin shampoo is an excellent additional stimulus for hair regeneration, even where previously there has been almost complete baldness. I was almost completely bald from forehead back to behind the crown but now have fine dark hair, which is gradually thickening and this is partly due to gently massaging in Alpecin each morning for 2-3 minutes. Since I started using this product, a friend has asked me if I had a hair transplant and several others have commented on the noticeable improvement in hair growth and density. The process is a slow win; Alpecin should be used over a 2-3 year regime, to see the best results. There is no magic in these things, a regular regime with Alpecin that stimulates scalp blood flow through circular massage with finger tips and smooth finger nail action, givesbest results.

I'm a Twin
15 October 2020

I have been using Alpecin for a couple of years and really didn't notice a different. I kept using it cos my wife bought her hair products and this was mine. I hadn't seen my twin brother for over 10 years and decided to go visit him. When I saw him he had lost so much hair I was gob-smacked! It was until I saw him that Alpecin really works. Even he said "did you get a hair transplant!" I had so much hair that if I didn't use the Alpecin shampoo I would have been as bald as him. Once I told him he immediately went and bought some and has been using it since. He knows it going to work cos I look AWESOME!

It works ! or seems too
5 June 2020

With not having a visit to the hairdresser since late December , lockdown didn't do me any favours. All the highlights had grown out or fell out , my hair looked abysmal. I knew my hair was getting thinner but I could bluff it with a decent cut. Anyway, I'd seen this shampoo on the beauty shelves in the Supermarket so ordered it in my ' click and collect ' weekly shop. I was my hair in the shower ,so applied it washed me then rinsed after a few minutes . I dry it naturally then style it after. Wow ! it feels thicker and looks very passable. Thanks Alpecine . . . and I thought it was just for men

Revitalise your hair
30 April 2019

I purchased this about three weeks ago. I can't see any noticeable reduction in hair loss. I think it depends a lot on the type of hair loss as to whether these topical treatments will work for you. However, I do find this shampoo has managed to somewhat revitalise my hair. It's less oily between washes, and the new growth does appear to be a little thicker. It feels like a little pick me up for you scalp. It has a pleasant refreshing tingle when you apply it, and it lathers really well. You can use a little less of this than you would of your normal shampoo, so the 375ml bottle will last you a little longer. I would buy this again, as I have only been using it three weeks I think the full benefits of this product may not yet be fully seen. Either way, I like that my hair is much shinier, looks healthier, and stays cleaner between washes. It's also reasonably priced compared to other brands.

recommend for those who has hair loss issue
3 June 2021

I did not have a severe hair loss issue so I cannot speak for those who are really bothered and has to seek help from a doctor. But my hair is relatively thin and I lose pretty much hair every time I showed. This shampoo for sure improves my situation and gives me fuller hair. I will use it forever. (by the way, I am a female and this product still works perfectly).
