The Alpha Industries famous MA-1 Flight Jacket is a mid-weight nylon jacket with water resistance and lots of versatility. The MA-1 US Navy fighter pilot jacket was the first military flight jacket to cross over into civilian fashion. Our nylon flight jacket includes knit cuffs, a knit collar and waistband, as well as a strong front zipper with storm flap for warmth. Our MA-1 jackets are reversible to bright orange, making them ideal for rescue missions and other times when visibility is imperative. This current version has been kept as close as possible to the classic specifications, which debuted in 1950 and received several revisions during the 1960's. Alpha Industries History In October, 1959, more than 50 years ago, Alpha Industries began its operations making military clothing in the basement of a rented Knoxville, Tennessee factory using leased sewing machines and only a few employees. The first few years were very difficult for newly formed Alpha because it was a time of peace and the U.S. Defence Department purchased only small quantities of military clothing. However, the outstanding quality of Alpha's clothing quickly came to the Defence Department's attention and as America's need for military clothing increased as the Vietnam conflict deepened, Alpha's growth as a manufacturer for the Defence Department rapidly accelerated. Alpha specialized in manufacturing many types of jackets and pants for U.S. military forces. As the years went by America's Defence Forces came to rely more and more on Alpha's expertise to produce U.S. Air Force and Naval Aviation flight jackets, Army and Marine Corps field jackets and a host of military pants and other clothing. During this time Alpha manufactured over 40 million garments for the U.S. military ranging from simple hoods to complicated cold weather Gore-Tex parkas. Although Alpha made many different types of clothing the company became most associated with several jackets that became classics of American fashion. Two of these jackets--- the MA-1 flight jacket and the M-65 field jacket-- were almost exclusively made by Alpha for the military and Alpha was instrumental in working with the U.S. military designers to improve their performance and design. Subsequently when these garments migrated from their military roots into globally popular casual or street wear styles Alpha, as the authentic producer of the MA-1 and M-65 for the military, also became famous in the public's mind for these styles. Love the color, the combination of the colors and the total look of the jacket, but the option to revers it is kind of useless, since the openings of the inside pockets are the wrong side, the flap on the zipper is outside and just wriggles around. If you would’ve reverse the inside pockets and remove the flap from the zipper, it woulde be a real reversible jacket, but right now it feels like an not so great looking and useless feature of the jacket.

Great retro style with modern flare
18 November 2016

I love this jacket. My girlfriend told me to stop talking about it because she tired of hearing me talk about it. It is a great fit. I was afraid it would be too puffy but it is not. The sleeves run longer on a large and had too much room on the inside. The medium fit me snug but not tight. I can wear 2 layers and feel confortable. I am 5-7 and 180lbs.Materials are high quality and I feel this jacket will last a long time if taken care if. I hang it up on a hanger when done. I wear this everywhere.

Had to return this a the colour was so different. In the image it's standard grey. In real life, it's a dark green. Great jacket just not the colour I wanted.

I am not a big fan of gold dice nor am I a fan of red, but these caught my eye. I bought the single and wow, I am in love with it. I actually love the gold and red and black combo and this die has become part of my DM toolkit. I have bought other metal dice from Die Hard and find them high quality and well balanced. I don’t get the clunky thuds like some other brands and aesthetically they are beautiful.

Quality product at a good price

Proper, warm, hardwearing jacket. Great quality - a different thing entirely from the cheap alternatives all over the internet. Tend to be made slightly on the big side - I'm a 44" chest and had to return the XL and order a L size which is a perfect fit. I actually use this jacket to fly a light Piper aircraft and on my motorbike. It's perfect for both.

Shame not a proper pilot jacket
1 November 2017

This is a very comfortable and warm jacket, the only downside, as a real pilot, is that the nylon it is made of its highly flammable. The real jackets are made of a flame retardant material called aramid, a form of nomex. It is of course also more expensive; as a pilot it is vital. If Alpha industries could only make copies of the jackets out of aramid they would have many happy pilots

Worried I’d made the wrong choice grabbing this over the Dire d20- thought it might end up blurry and too small. But it shoooore ain’t! Crystal clear and a beauty. In fact the Dire d20 itself ended up a bit too big and heavy to handle the intense sessions. Highly recommend
