Bought these boots for a three day trip into a backcountry lodge. Did not want to use my larger touring skis/pastic boots since the distance into the cabin was long and we did not plan much for turns. MEC was sold out in women's in my size so I gave these a try. I am a women's 7.5/8 and the men's 39 fit me fine. I did not plan to use the boots to try to tele turn since I have NNN BC bindings. Overall, after 3 days and 60 km of skiing, the boots were comfortable. My only improvement will be to add a better footbed since I did not have good arch support when snow ploughing with the stock foot beds. The boots do take some time to dry out, lucky there was a wood stove, so I pulled the footbeds and the boots were dry by morning. Overall, I would recommend the boots. They are a good set-up for when I don't want to use my heavy plastic touring boots on long-distance ski tours that are generally flat with a mellow pass or two.

Bought these to match my NNN BC bindings. Tried Rossignol but they gave me blisters and the lacing method kept slipping undone. Returned more than one pair, trying different sizes. These are comfortable boots, more like hiking boots but as my knees are problematic I bought Rossignol 65 backcountry steel edge skis which also fit in tracks as I wish to do both. Gaiters fit on no problem, quick to put on and so far waterproof but no real test yet, only 4 days of trail skiing. Will have more opinion by season end.

I bought these BC boots a month ago and I've used them about 6 or 7 times. I found them to be very rigid with great ankle support, but the stiffness of the boot makes it really difficult to tighten them up. I have fairly narrow feet, so because it was difficult tighten the laces I got new blisters every time I used them because my ankle would move around when I would kick. After a few hours of skiing I found the soles of my feet getting sore from the stiff insole of the boot. These might work for someone with very wide feet. They were tested in deep snow and my feet stayed dry and fairly warm, but not the right boot for me.

This is one of the most painful boots I have ever worn. The first day I worn these Alpina Montana boots they were fine, however the lasts cracked on the boots after a 30 kilometer day of skiing. The top of the Alpina boots now jam into the top of my toes causing bleeding blisters which started the 2nd time using them. I have tried different socks and doubled up on socks to try to stop the pain but nothing works. Lasts should last- not crack on day one.
I like the aesthetics of this boot, but I’ve been out with mine ten times and they’ve started to fail. The eyelets have been popping off the boot while I’m pacing up, and the plastic ones are breaking as well. The boot does not keep its shape either, the toes crush in fairly quickly. I wouldn’t buy this brand again.
Warning - these need a size up from your usual every other ski/street/hike boots and shoes. Otherwise they actually skied pretty darned great for all the added support i could get my classic technique working great.
Great off track touring boots. Comfortable, supportive, with good flex and just enough torsional rigidity for descending. They have high ankles for warmth, support, and deeper snow, but it doesn't impede a natural skiing stride. The synthetic uppers and generous rand are great for backcountry use, and the Thinsulate is warm without feeling cushy. I have Gore Tex socks but I don't really feel that it's necessary to use them with these. The fit is good for a C or D foot width, and the lacing allows for plenty of adjustment, though the laces themselves could be a bit longer. The insoles do seem a bit flat which may require an upgrade, or maybe just a heel insert as there isn't a lot of cushioning, but that's all just personal fit.
