The Alpinestars Bionic Tech V3 jacket offers superior protection. It is anatomically profiled, highly ventilated, and flexible for maximum comfort and movement. CE Level 2 shoulder protectors, elbow armour, back protector and chest protectors provide superior impact resistance. The chest and back protectors are securely placed via adjustable shoulder straps. With an easy-on-off design, the ultra-lightweight removable chest protector features a magnetic, quick-release lock buckle on the left shoulder. At the same time, the lower securement is actioned via the adjustable V-belts, which run through the ventilated rib guards. The V shape spreads the tightening force over a wider back protector area, resulting in a more secure and comfortable fit. The rib guards offer additional coverage in critical areas. The textile is race-proven, breathable and ultra-stretchy, with super ventilation to direct heat away from the chest for superior comfort. The dual-zone chest and back protectors have a rigid central zone with a flexible soft compound around the perimeter and are backed by soft bio-foam padding. On the chest protector, the flexible and soft side wings, in combination with the bio-foam padding, work as an adaptive system that moulds to the chest. The central zone of the chest and back protectors directly behind the highly perforated impact grid are open to maximum ventilation. The Bionic Tech V3 jacket is BNS compatible via a removable puck panel, and elasticated BNS pull tabs. All the armour can be removed to wash the base layer easily. The waist strap is not attached to the back protector for added versatility.

Well made Protection Jacket , very flexible and comfortable elbow and shoulder protection insert . Unfortunately chest and back protector is to bulky for my liking .Its not problem to wear it under the jersey , but under my jacket it makes a problem as it force to by a jacket one size larger to be comfortable .I purchased it to replace my previous A10 Chest Protector as wanted something more slim and more comfortable . In result I got Bionic V3 which is more comfortable and give you better movement range , but ...unfortunately is more bulky and doesn't fit very well with my Adventure Jacket .

I am 5' 7" tall, just under 40" chest, 32" waist, 155 lbs. Wearing a large and it fits comfortably snug on torso and arms. You may want to go up a size based on the sizing chart. Fairly light weight for a full jacket style protector. On 90 F degree, high humidity days, it is hot, really hot and sweaty when on slow moving single track trails. Decent venting when moving faster. Somewhat difficult to remove arms from jacket when drenched in sweat. I worry about pulling too hard and damaging sleeves. Material is comfortable against the skin. Washing instructions state "Do not submerge" and suggest tamping with wet soapy cloth. Good luck getting the stink out with that method. I remove the chest protector, hang and lightly hose it down, then reattach chest protector and hang dry, so far, so good. It would be a five star product if it was equipped with side rib protection similar to the A-10. Also, additional color options would be nice. Black is not my first choice of colors for HOT sunny conditions.

This model was to replace a dianese protection system which was or is 20years old.Why I bought the V3 removable and customizable armor, yes it does all of this and a little bit more. Armored Floating Chest and Back protectors can be fully removed and packed in suitcase for flying and I will wear the material soft top while on the plane etc.Sizing I would normally buy a medium shirt, however much with dianese, alpinestars would be too small if i bought a medium so I have bought a large. (I i speak from experience)This is a quality product and worth the extra cost. The kidney belt is a good fit compared to the Dianesse of 20 years ago which was very good in its dayWhy have a chosen or moved loyality ... MoreI have bought this for skiing and cycling both road and off road. Bad Material Choice

I've owned this for about 3 months now and it is the worst product I've seen from Alpinestars.Previous to this I have owned the Bionic Tech V2 and enjoyed it.My two biggest complaints about the Alpinestars Bionic Tech V3 Protection Jacket are:1. Material is way too delicate.2. Getting it on and off is a lesson in FRUSTRATION! Seriously. This new V3 version is absolutely horrible to put on. It does not have any shape to it while trying to get it on, getting it off is even worse. The material they have used seems better suited for women's lingerie as it's very delicate. The sleeve tore at the wrist the first time I tried taking it off after a sweaty moto. Once on, I have to say it does fit well, but I think you'll be lucky to get half a season out of it before it ... MoreI've owned this for about 3 months now and it is the worst product I've seen from Alpinestars.Previous to this I have owned the Bionic Tech V2 and enjoyed it.My two biggest complaints about the Alpinestars Bionic Tech V3 Protection Jacket are:1. Best ce2 protection for upper torso.

Not sure why people are saying it won't last half a season when they haven't owned it half a season...This is great for offroad racing and riding. Had mine since early August and use it daily for dual sport riding my 500 and 690. It does a great job at protection of vital areas. I haven't seen any tears or damage using it daily. Must better than the other brand I was using before. The CE2 is a must if you ride fast.

Runs small making it a bit difficult to remove at the end of the day. Protection is great and I find it to be comfortable. Elbow armor doesn't shift during riding which is a great plus and a big reason I choose this item. Breathable and so far but only used up top 80F, zero complaints on heat. Only time will tell as the summer heat hits the desert. For the future I would like to see--inner elbows cut out to prevent bunching though this has been only a minor issue and barely noticeable--velcro or other attachment to help keep the chest protection at a customizable down position--lower chest protection straps could be a stronger elasticity--occasional irritation at the neck line from the chest protection adjustment straps, would like to see this addressed5'7" ... MoreRuns small making it a bit difficult to remove at the end of the day. Good fit for a larger person

It's brand new, mainly reviewing fit and and such here since folks probably know what they're getting into with CE1 vs CE2 stuff. I am right at the end-cusp of their chest measurements for the XXL and this is a bit snug (expected) and fits well.Having the adjustable elbow straps are a huge plus in regards to the other two options I tried before deciding on this (Leatt Airflow - only CE1 all the way around - while comfy, just didn't have protection I wanted) and the Bionic Tech V2 version (again, CE1 on arms, CE2 on chest/back) and that one had a zipper on the side - really hard to get up over a larger chest. The Leatt lining stuff is more comfortable, though. This one however has a quick release for the chest and a zipper in the middle, making it much easier to ... MoreIt's brand new, mainly reviewing fit and and such here since folks probably know what they're getting into with CE1 vs CE2 stuff. The Leatt lining stuff is more comfortable, though. This one however has a quick release for the chest and a zipper in the middle, making it much easier to get on. It can be a little clunky getting the arms in while flipping the chest protecotor around since it "technically" stays attached the whole time (you can remove it if you want - but only one side has the 'quick release') but I'm also brand new to the sport, so maybe this is expected. I like A* stuff in general, their street boots are great as well as gloves/jackets I have had. This was one of the few options that were of a lower profile while providing CE2 all around. I would say the fit is as expected with their measurements. Do measure your chest to be sure and while it seems like it's stretched out while putting it on, once zipped it's snug and fits great.

The chest and back armor is really nice, but the rub protection is a little thinner than I though. The elbows and shoulders are a kind of soft rubbery material, so an abrasion resistant outer is necessary. The Jersey material is nice but feels like it won't stand up to hard riding. It's very elastic and feels like it will get snagged or caught easily.

V-2 is much better than the Original
3 July 2020

I had the previous generation (original) Alpine Star Bionic Tech jacket and it was great for enduro riding in cooler weather. But when temps were above 70, it was way too hot for the slow single track woods riding that I do in North Carolina. The boy armor panels had almost no vents. Maybe okay for dual sport or adventure riding, but too hot for enduros. The V-2 version of the jacket is vented and it works really well. I've ridden in 80 degree, humid weather and it wasn't too bad. I like that the breast plate can be removed, the kidney belt is positioned lower and the arm openings are better. I really like the long length of the spine protector. (I injured my lower back last year while using a traditional-style Leatt protector. I didn't give the V-2 a 5 Star rating ... MoreI had the previous generation (original) Alpine Star Bionic Tech jacket and it was great for enduro riding in cooler weather. I sure wish it came in a lighter color...because of the heat issues here in steamy NC. I've only had it a few weeks, so I can't speak to its durability. Alpine Star gear is premium priced, but it appears to be good quality.
